"old" application manager and creative cloud running in parallel?
Hello,
after upgrading to Creative Cloud I have now as menu icons both symbols. The old application manager icon (with the Adobe A as symbol) and the creative cloud symbole. Is this correct that both tools are still running? Shouldn't the old version of the application manager be replaced by creative cloud?
If so, could you please advice how I can remove the application manager?
Thank you.
I've see the same issue every time there's an update in CC. Today the CC app icon said (1) but the AAM icon said (2).
I updated one app (InDesign) via CC and when this completed the AAM icon went down to (1), with nothing else to indicate what the update might be. So I quit CC and clicked the AAM icon, which caused CC to launch again, and once it was up the icon had a (1) beside it and showed that an update to InCopy was available.
So there is a muddle somewhere. It’s very well to say ignore it, but it’s a distraction.

I'm signed up for a group CC account (just switched from a month-by-month) but when I try to launch a program it opens up the old Adobe Application Manager and asks for a serial number or start trial. Does anyone know what I need to do to get the access I'm supposed to be? Thanks
The email ID here in forum has one CC registered to it which has expired, there is no other CC, of you trying to launch the CC with this Email ID then it will ask for serial number.
Since you have CC for Team to this same Email ID, you need to log out & log back in of the Cc desktop app to activate the CC for Team though the activation server shows that the CC for Teams have been activated once on September 25th 2014.

I have just upgraded from Lightroom 5 standalone to Lightroom 6 standalone. I appear to have been automatically enrolled for a 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. Reading the FAQ, it appears that after the expiry of the free trial, if I do not sign up and pay, I will only be able to view my pictures on the desktop but not edit them - surely this cannot be true. How do I un-enroll for the 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and CC?
When I was signed into Adobe (which was a requirement for installing the upgrade), Lightroom 6 told my at the top right corner that I had 30 days left of my free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. In parallel with this forum posting, I am chatting with Adobe support. he is away to find out how to prevent any synching with Creative Cloud during the 30 day free trial. I do not think that Creative Cloud is an application that gets installed on your PC. I think Lightroom 6 has it built in, and can use it if if you are signed up to the Creative Cloud and Lightroom Mobile (which I am for 30 days)

JanIn this log file I can see you are getting Error : U44M1P7 while updating the software
This Error comes where language packs for software are not installed properly on the machine.
I would suggest to update Adobe Application manager from
Windows : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
MAC: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
then try to install the update if still you are not able to update software and getting same error then uninstall all the Adobe software selecting remove prefernces.
After uninstalling the software run the Adobe Cleaner tool(http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and remove the leftovers.

Managing the Creative Cloud and other Packages
Until this morning I had installed in my computer
Acrobat X Pro, Photoshop CS5 (64-bit), Photoshop CS6 and CS6 64-bit (all bought), and
Illustrator CS5, CS6, and CS6 (64-bit) and SendNow Basic (all subscribed to).
After subscribing to the Creative Cloud, I installed InDesign SC6 and decided to streamline my Adobe packages. I started with the uninstallation of Illustrator CS5. When this was done, my InDesign, Application Manager, and Acrobat X 'disappeared'. I therefore, used System Restore (I have Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit).
Following the Restore, when I open Illustrator CS5, I get a message to uninstall and re-install (Error: 1), InDesign refuses to open, and Acrobat X appears without my personalised printing settings.
I need advise on how to manage my packages?
Thanks.
PaulI would be inclined to run the Cleanup tool
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
then reinstall all Cloud apps via the Appplication Manager. -
Applications missing from Creative Cloud Desktop application
If you are unable to locate a specific application then it is likely the computer you are using does not meet the current system requirements. In the following example you can see that After Effects and Premiere Pro are missing from the list of available applications.
When I look at the System information for my Windows installation I am informed that I have a 32-bit version of Windows 8.
This means that I will be unable to install Premiere Pro or After Effects as my current computer does not meet the minimum system requirements. You can find a list of Creative Cloud system requirements at Adobe Creative Cloud – Tech specs.
For additional information please see Not all apps displayed for download | Creative Cloud desktop app, Adobe Application Manager.
If you have confirmed that your computer meets and exceeds all of the listed System requirements then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed.

Updated ink to http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/all-apps-displayed-aam.html.Hi Jeff,
I have a lot of problems. First og all the system will not accept my account and even I have downloaded CPLauncher and can see the software, I will not genereate password. Nothing works, and if do not, I have to stop paying, because my boss are a little angry.
He says: We pay and it do not work. Find other software. We can’t afford you sitting doing nothing. If Adobe makes such a software that causes us trouble, we will change to something else, we do not need Aobe for our projects.
So Jeff – The software are very complicated, it can run, It can’t genereate license, and on top of all this, I have to defend Adobe. Well – I will not. I have been fighting in 3 weeks and this week is the last. Monday morning I will stop using Adobe coud and stop my membership.

Does creative cloud run on windows xp
does creative cloud run on windows xp.
what limitations are there with xpCreative Cloud is a collection of 17 separate Adobe software titles.
Tech specs vary by application, all listed individually here: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/tech-specs.html
The main issues:
Lightroom 4 (now available in the Creative Cloud) will not run on Windows XP
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html
Premiere Pro CS6 and After Effects CS6 will only run on 64 bit operating systems
Photoshop CS6 Extended: 3D features and some GPU-enabled features are not supported on Windows XP.
If you're running Windows XP 32 bit, you'll only see 14 software apps available for download since Lightroom, Premiere Pro and After Effects are not supported on that operating system. -
Continuous Deployment and Creative Cloud
Thought I'd share this article about the issues Continuos Development creates for companies and their products. It features Adobe Creative Cloud and Tesla. The article itself is bellter than the headline. http://www.forbes.com/sites/steveblank/2014/01/03/tesla-and-adobe-why-continuous-deploymen t-may-mean-continuous-customer-disappointment/
Both computers do not have to be the same OS.
http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html
On how many computers can I install the software I download from Creative Cloud?
You can install the desktop applications available in Creative Cloud on your primary computer and one backup computer, as long as they are not running at the same time. You will have access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions, so if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, for instance, you can install your applications on both. See the product license agreements page for more information. -
I have a unique problem with Typekit and Creative Cloud
I've had CC membership for a few months now and have downloaded it onto first a laptop then a desktop. I'm having trouble on the desktop. When I try to access and download typekit fonts through an application or creative cloud, I'm getting a message come up saying "internet explorer has stopped working" and the typekit website does not open properly. I'm therefore unable to access or browse for fonts. The typekit website does not respond and a message comes up saying so. Using windows 8 I can access internet explorer through the Apps page, and browse fonts that way, but it is frustrating and inconvenient not being able to go direct to the website through an adobe application or through creative cloud. Anyone ideas why? Appreciate any help, thanks.
Well I downloaded google chrome to my PC which is what I use on my laptop, and it seems to be working. Not sure why Internet explorer wasn't working but so far google chrome is.

Installing FLash player (and Creative cloud)
I am having trouble with Flash player and creative cloud. Most recently I have tried umpteen times to install Flash player and it wont work. I have run through uninstalling it. re installing it. ensuring it is enabled. and nothing. i have established that i DO have the current version on my computer through the \app\ through your website...its the 11.9 version. but when I try to use FB to upload photos, it says i have to install the latest version of flash.
I have also had the same issue with CC. I have a subscription and i have downloaded the desk top app, but I cannot see or access it. I have it listed in my control panel, under programs...but cannot see it anywhere else.
What else can I do? I am so frustrrated. mostly with these adobe products - they just dont seem to 'stay' on my comp. LR and PS both work - downnloaded from CC...but nothing else really!?
Thanks so much

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11 (which I can only assume you're using because this is where the FB problems occur), which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in. -
I have an AMD HD Sapphire 7950 3GB GPU and Creative Cloud, but Mercury Playback still says software only. I thought CC allowed you to bypass the "whitelist" even though my card is listed as supported here on the site. Playback without it jerky on 4k footage, even at 1/8 resolution.
I'm running Windows 8
AMD 3.3ghz 6 core processor
32GB DDR3 1600 ram
Scratch drive is solid state
1) How do I enable Mercury and
2) Should CC being having this much trouble editing 4k?Ask in the Premiere Pro forum.

I want to download whatever updates I need for Photoshop CS5. I am using Adobe Application Manager and there are updates but they arnt going through. It has been awhile since I tried. Dont remember when the last time was. But my Mac Book Pro is in good shape and I am finally getting around to this. didnt expect it not to work. Help?
Hi Richei Creative,
These would be my suggestions:
Create a new user account with administrative rights, log out of your current account and into that one, launch Adobe Application Manager and attempt the Photoshop update again.
Instructions if you need them - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11468
If this fails, uninstall Photoshop (Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers) and reinstall Photoshop then from Adobe Application Manager the attempt the Photoshop update again, also from the newly created user account.
