Old codec no longer works with update to 7.1.3
The previous version of Quicktime 7 worked fine with an older codec (Accom Affinity) but now this newest version of Quicktime does not. Is there a way to go back to the earlier version of Quicktime 7 without having to reinstall all the system software? Not having this codec work for this new machine will be painful (and Accom is gone so they won't fix their codec).

Do things the "cheap" way.
Buy a cheap external Firewire hard drive (under $100 U.S and about 2 million down under).
Install (you may already have older installers) 10.3.9 and leave it at QuickTime 6.5. Install the Accom software on this new drive too.
Connect the drive with 10.3.9 installed to your Network (it should show up automatically if it's Firewire) and then quit or restart your computer.
With the Option key held down you'll be asked "What OS do you wish to start" (or words to that effect). Choose the 10.3.9 drive and do your work.
Heck. You may have the older Mac still in your house so you could use it by "networking" your two computers.

I have a number of plug ins that worked prior to my update to FF5, I have uninstalled the update, installed v 3.6.18, thinking it would help, and it didn't. I'm not sure what to do. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, etc. They worked before I installed the update. I just solved the same issue. First I reset my whole network from scratch by hard resetting all devices (1 AEBS N and two AXg). Then I started configuring my main base station and added the other devices to the network one by one. (I have a WDS). Only after setting all the devices to channel 6, did the green light stay on.
Apparently when you configure a AX to participate in an existing WDS network and you enter the existing network name in the configuration panel of Airport Utility, it creates a separate network with the same name. In order to force it to join the existing network, make sure their Airport ID numbers are entered under the WDS tab in Airport as WDS remotes.

AS CS4 does not work wit the newer Mac version of OS X I want to deactivate from the computer. However, I cannot do so as I can't launch CS4 to deactivate and so I am going around in a loop. There must be a way to resolve and Adobe just is not responding to my online request. It looks like I will have top seek alternative software and any help re the deactivation will be appreciated. Thanks.
I guess I'm not sure why you are trying to deactivate. Do you have a machine with an older version of OS installed that you can run that version on? If so, you have two activations that you can use so you should still be able to install Contribute on that machine.
If you have used up your activations and try to install on another machine, you will get a warning and a notice with contact information that can reset your activations for you.

My username (email address) has changed. Apps that I purchased with the old username ca not be updated as the password from the old username no longer works and apple can not send me info to an addres that no longer exists. What can I do?

Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
Iphone 2.0 update no longer working with Chrysler Uconnect Hands Free
Hello. I recently downloaded the 2.0 update for my original iphone and it will no longer work with the my Uconnect hands free setup in my 2008 Dodge Ram. I am a Chrysler Dealer Parts Manager and have installed and shown many people how to set these uconnect hands free devices up but I have no connection with the 2.0 update. I pair the phone as a new phone and it will pair but will not show up at all and it says "No Phone". Anybody know a fix for this. Help Apple!!!
I have a new Dodge Nitro. U Connect and iphone were working great. I had no problems until the 2.0 update. I tried calling apple care but gave up quickly when I realized I was going to be waiting forever with everything else they have going on.
The weird thing was that I was on a call trying to get some help from a friend of mine and all of a sudden the phone started working with the u connect. Then after leaving and returning to the car it stopped working again. Haven't been able to get it working since. I though maybe you had to be on a call for a while before it would transfer over. That wasn't it.
I tried turning off wireless too. Again no effect.
The phone shows that it is paired with the u connect. I've tried unpairing and repairing several times still to no effect. They just aren't working. This is a HUGE problem. I love my iPhone but may have to give it up and switch if they don't come up with a fix in the next month or so.
Anybody who can help me solve this would definitely move to the top of my Christmas Card List! -

Ring up iHome and ask them for a fix... And if they cant supply you with a fix... Then you should be entitled to a replacement or a upgrade, as firmware upgrades on your ios device should not affect audio products......

Use an earlier version of Firefox, use Safari, or upgrade to a later version of OS X. Any Intel Mac can run Snow Leopard.

My iMessage and some of my applications no longer work with the new software update. How do I fix this?
I called Apple Support after trying many fixes suggested online. They directed me to the procedure on the following page:

I did the erase and restore option they suggested since I had tried a pile of ther things suggested on posts and blogs and they did not work. I even waited the obligatory 24 hours, thus the restore from backup option was what they suggested. I have a 64gig iPhone 4S and it took about 1.5 hours to complete the entire operation seeing that I am using about 54 gigs of that capacity.
Warning: I lost all of my emails and all of the data files from one of my map programs so be sure you have everything that you really need from your phone store elsewhere before wiping your phone. I thought that the backup on my computer would restore everything but obviously NOT.

Belkin lightning dock no longer works with iOS8.1 update
I have the Belkin aluminium dock and since the update to 8.1 it no longer works with my iPhone 5S or 6 plus. I've tried reboots and resets, can't get it to work.
I just get the 'this accessory may not be supported' message.

Can you see the drive in Disk Utility? If so, try selecting it and using the Mount button in the top menu. You can also run repair disk and repair permissions.

Existing Apple ID is not longer working with Face Time and Message on the iPhone after iOS 6
After the IOS 6 update on my iPhone the Apple ID is not longer working with Face Time and Message. Each time I try to log in I receive the message that the password or the user is not right. But they are, because on all other devices and all other parts of the iPhone (iCloud, AppStore, iTunes) they are working. Other Apple IDs are working fine.
What's wrong? Any idea?

It sounds like you restored from an old back-up. Did you back-up just before your software update? It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.

my ipod connects directly to my alpine car stereo and up til now it has worked great. i recently synced my ipod to my computer and i think it updated the software on my ipod and now my ipod no longer works with my alpine stereo. what is up? did apple change something that would make my ipod no longer compatible with my car stereo? if so, what do i do? i have about $1000 invested in my car stereo and ipod specifically for car use. this is a serious issue for me! i just want my ipod to work like it did…
i just connected my friends ipod and it works fine. he has version 1.1.1 software on his. i have version 2.3 on mine. since my ipod works fine by itself i’m assuming that the incompatibility between my ipod and my alpine is due to the software update.
