Old Composite Video cable (Tangerine iBook) not compatible with Video iPod
I discovered a little surprise.
Despite being exactly identical on both ends of the cable, an old Apple Composite Video cable, originally purchased for a Tangerine iBook, is not compatible with Video iPod.
Anybody confirms such situation, or is it just my Video iPod with a faulty video output?

I have the current version of itunes, but when I go to update my ipod, I am getting an error message that says that it could not back up because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPod. This is the first time trying to backup the iPod. I have authorized my computer. Still no luck.
Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and select the iPod backjp and click on delete and try again.

As I said the iTunes program on the computer. You open iTunes on the computer and go to the View menue in the upper rightand then click on preferences. Go to Devices and delete the backup.

what do you do when you can't sync your ipod and it tells you that itunes is not compatible with your ipod?
Upgrade to the newest version of iTunes first to see if that helps.

Every time I sync my iTouch I get the following message - "iTunes could not back up the iPod because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPod. Delete the backup for this iPod, then try again." However, when I follow these instructions, delete the backup and try again - I get the same message. Any ideas what is wrong?

Why are the application in the apple store are not compatible with the iPod touch 4g? Apple please realize there are some of us who still have the iPod touch 4g! I just want to know.
Once I find the game i will truly screenshot that it states "not compatible for these models". I just find it RIDICULOUS that my iPod touch is in good condition and some of the applications that I want download sometimes are not compatible with my iPod touch 4g. I am not going to buy an ipod 5th generation if my 4g is still going strong since the year of 2010.

Accessory not compatible with my iPod
I have been playing my iPod on my new Bose speaker system for months now. All of a sudden, my ipod doesn't play and I get this message: The currently attached accessory is not compatible with this iPod." My friend's iPod plays just fine on this same Bose speaker. I have restored my iPod to its factory settings, but that didn't help.

Everytime i connect my ipod touch to my laptop the message that either the backup was corrupt or not compatible with my ipod shows up. It was working before but idk why this is happening now!?

Not compatible with this ipod?
I tried to buy an app on the app store on my iPod touch 3rd generation and it said not compatible with this iPod touch. I know its compatible. I have the latest software, IOS 4.2.1, and the app said I needed a 3rd generation or higher. so I went on iTunes on my computer and downloaded it on to iTunes. then I tried to download it to my iPod from there. I spent 6.99 and it said the same thing, not compatible with this iPod. WHATS HAPPENING!?!?!
Sounds like you may have a 2nd generation unit. Please check the model number on the back. A1288 is a 2nd gen. A1318 is a 3rd gen.

New version of iBooks not compatible with iOs 4.2.1
I wanted to install iBooks on my iPhone 3. The new version, released sep 19th 2012 requires iOs 4.3 which is not compatible with the iPhone 3g. Have I any solution to install a previous version of iBooks?
Nice! This is what we call forced marketing ... I am forced to buy a new iPhone to use an old basic application ... Any idea on which free app I can use to read PDF docs and which is iOs 4.2.1 compatible? Thanks for your help.

ITunes keeps saying my back is either corrupt or not compatible with my iPod.
After backing up my iPod so I could restore it to fix some glitch issues iTunes tells my my back up is either corrupt or not compatible with the very iPod I had first backed up from. Now, I can't get my notes, photos, etc. Suggestions?

A few apps I bought are only compatible with the iOS 4.0 or higher. I have an ipod touch 1G and the update isn't compatable with that device. What do I do?
Since there are HW differences there is no much we can do really, other than getting a newer iTouch. Mine is also 1G

IPhone not compatible with Blaupunkt iPod interface.
I spoke to Blaupunkt tech support and they said the device was too new for them to have a software update, and nothing was likely to change before February next year.
If you plug the iphone in there's an error message on the iPhone about the accessory not being designed for the iPhone.Welcome to the forums.
Yep, that will be the case with nearly all iPod accessories until they are released specifically for the iPhone. Nothing new here. -

Plain simple. Look at the devices which are not supported: All uses A4 chip and 256MB of memory or less. So it seems that the game is a graphics powerhouse and the lower gen devices can't handles the game properly. That's it.
