Old Computer broke...how would i put ipod touch songs on a new one?

my old laptop is completely messed up and i have been trying to figure out how to sync my ipod touch to an new laptop without erasing everything. any help?

Try a manual backup of your ipod to save your data and settings, here's how to:
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

I have an older iPod Touch, I bought a new one and the Itunes on my computer is too old to recognize my new iPod Touch and Itunes cannot be updated.  Is there a creditable software program I can use to get all my old music from my old iPod Touch to the new one?  It is my understanding that the music cannot be saved onto my new iTunes, b/c I did not have iCloud. I have over 2,000 songs I just cannot part with. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help some how!!  THANKS!

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

  • After downloading Itunes on a new computer the number of songs in my library is smaller than the count on my old computer.  How do I restore the missing songs and my playlists on the new computer?

I have downloaded Itunes on to a new computer.  The number of songs listed in the library is less than the number of songs on my old computer.
How do I restore the entire library to the new computer?   I do I restore the playlists that I created on my old computer?

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer.

One registration per purchase. If QuickTime has been un-registered on the old machine you can use that same registration info on a new machine.

  • Old Computer Broke/How Do I Transfer Songs?

My old computer broke down (motherboard went out) and it won't start at all. I have bought a new computer and want to put all my IPod contents on this computer. I have the video IPod. I have installed the most recent ITunes program.
How do I go about installing the current contents of my IPod onto my new computer, when my old computer is unusable?
    Thanks

There are a number of 3rd party apps that can do this for you including iPodAgent for Windows, copypod, & transpod. You can find a lot of these apps at versiontracker.com. You can take a look at MacMuse's instructions on the following link, also. but I warn you up front that MacMuse's method can be somewhat tricky for those who are computer inexperienced.

  • My computer broke and I lost my ipod touch at the same time. Then I put all of my new music on my nano. Then I found my ipod touch. How do I get the music from the ipod touch to the computer and also keep the music I bought for the nano?

I have an ipod touch and an ipod nano. I also used to have a laptop but, it quit working and I no longer have it. I had all of my music on my laptop. So, I had to buy a new desktop. I lost my ipod touch at around the same time. I had all of my music on the ipod touch that was from my laptop. So in thye meantime I started using my nano more. I bought new songs on my desktop for my nano. Then I found my ipod touch. I would like to be able to keep both the somgs I have now on my ipod touch and the ones that I already bought on the desktop. What do I do?

    No.
All iTunes content on your iPod Touch should be in your iTunes library on your computer, and your iTunes library on your computer should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data - stored on an external drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only.
When music was purchased on a CD, if the CD was lost and you returned to the store where the CD was purchased with your receipt, were you given a replacement CD?
    The same applies here.

  • Old computer broke, how do i move songs?

my whole ipod library was on my old computer but then that broke. my sisters labtop already has itunes installed with a couple of songs purchased on it but no ipod library as she doesnt have one. how to i make the labtop the new database for my ipod? please help!

Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Old pc crashed how can I upload ipod playlist and save to new pc?

How can I upload my playlist off my IPod to a new pc?

Be very careful when connecting an iPod full of music to an empty iTunes library. There is very real risk of permanently losing all the music.
To prevent auto sync, before you connect the iPod go to the iTunes preferences and select "devices", then select "disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods".
An alternative method is to connect the iPod whilst holding down the 'control+shift' keys and do not let them go until your iPod appears in iTunes.
If you see a message that your iPod is associated with a different library and asks if you want to link to a new one, make sure you press "Cancel".
If you should click on "Erase and Sync" will erase all the content currently on your iPod and it will be replaced with the content of the iTunes library you just connected to.
When you've pressed cancel your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list under "devices" and allow you to change the update setting to manage the iPod content manually, and that will let you use your iPod for the time being without the risk of accidentally erasing the contents.
Then do any of the following to transfer your music from iPod back to the computer/iTunes.
For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola and iDump and iPodRobot.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Can i exchange my ipod touch 4g for the new one?

    Hello,
I want to change my old ipod touch 4g for the ipod touch 5g, and i just want it to know if the apple can exchange it?
    Thanks

Was this at an Apple store?
Apple don't provide a service like this.
If it was an Apple store they may have meant you can trade it in for 10% off a new model. This is all though.
    Sorry

  • Will Apple exchange my iPod touch 4g with a new one if my current one is deffective

Ok so, I got my iPod touch 4g (white) on June 19th after i made a bet with my moms boyfriend to not drink pop for a year
So when I opened the iPod, it wouldnt connect to wi-fi. Guys, dont ask me to reset network settings or anything, because..
IVE TRIED E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G, but nothing has worked. So I called Apple and the guy on the phone said to go and make
an appointment at the Genius Bar, so i did, for 1:30pm today.
So my question is: Since the guy told me it's probably a deffective product, will Apple exchange my current iPod
for a new one? (my current one has no scratches, still has the headphones & charger, with the manuals, the box, stickers & everything)
    Thank youu

what do you mean by a refurbished one?
Like a used one?? But what if i return the whole packaging (i kept the manuals & stuff, like everything )
Could the person at the Genius Bar then give me a new one if I return the whole packaging ?
Lol sorry for all the questions, I'm just really worried :/

  • My old computer died, how to use my iPod on my new computer?

Is there a support link that tells me what steps to go through to set up my iPod with my new PC. When I try to just authorize it on my new PC, iTunes wants to delete everything on my iPod. But, I want to keep everything there, and have iTunes repopulated with my old purchases, and then I'll import my mp3 library for my songs that I brought in from my CDs. Any pointers to the right procedure to use?

*There's no way to connect my iPod to my new computer without losing the mp3s that I ripped before from my CDs.*
If your iPod is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed above your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it.
