Syncing with itunes on a new computer
How can I sync my iphone on a new computer without erasing all my music?
Did you not move your itunes library from the old computer to the new computer?
The iphone will sync with one itunes library at a time. Since the iphone is not a storage device, you cannot move the music from the iphone to the computer. The exception is itunes purchased music. With the iphone plugged in you can hit File>Transfer Purchases in itunes.
You need to put you music into your new computer first then sync. -
I can't get my ipod touch to sync to itunes in my new computer
I've recently purchased a new computer, and installed itunes onto it. I've plugged in my ipod touch and itunes does not respond to it at all. no sync options, or anything. please help.
Before you do sync, copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer. Otherwise on the initial sync it WILL wipe the content of the iPod and replace it with the blank library from the new computer.

Hi,
I have my iphone 3GS setup to be able to backup and sync with my computer over wifi. But I want to be able to backup to my sons computer also.
The things is I don't want to have to sync to his computer first to do this. Is there a file or something I can move from my computer that is setup to his that would let his see my iphone over wifi?If you don't have access to the old computer any longer, '''no'''. Unless you were using something like the Google Toolbar & Google Bookmarks or Xmarks, which would have your bookmarks in an online account that you could access. Firefox doesn't include an online storage feature for personal data, yet. That is coming in a future version.
If you have a friend at your old job maybe they have access to that old PC and they could export your bookmarks to a file and email that file to you. -
Hello. I hope someone can help. I have an iPod Touch 8G that I am trying to keep the music playlists from, adding them to what is on my Mac. I had work done on my Mac, and as a result, the original playlists in iTunes were deleted. I have recreated them using the Music Library, a long arduous process of thousands of songs! I would really like to have both, so I could manually combine playlists. How do I do this, not losing either set of playlists?
I enabled Home Sharing and iCloud.
Many thanks!

How do I delete music from my ipad when I synced with ITunes
How do I delete music from my iPad 2?
If manually managing music on your iPad then you can delete music directly in the Music app on your iPad by swiping/dragging across them from right-to-left (or via Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage > Music), or by connecting the iPad to your computer's iTunes and using the Music section under the 'on my device' heading to select and delete them :
If not manually managing your music then you can delete the music directly in the Music app by swiping/dragging (or via Settings), but when you next sync to your computer's iTunes it's likely to get synced back - so you may want to just reconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, change your music sync options to deselect what you no longer want on your iPad, and sync that new selection -
My old computer crashed, and I have most of my music on my ipod, that has been purchased, and downloaded music from my CD's. I also have music in my old Library on ITunes. How do I recover all of them, and transfer my music on my IPod, to my new Library.
Lucky for you, I just found out how to get the music stored on your iPod by messing around with it. I'm not much of an Apple user (I only have a shuffle), so I'm not 100% sure it would work the same way as yours.. but it's worth a shot.
if your iTunes didn't sync with your iPod yet,... that would be great..
1, Make sure your iTunes does not automatically sync with your iPod (I don't know if this would help..)
2, Click on your iPod and go to settings, check "Enabe Disk Use"
Your iPod should now have a partition on My Computer called AFJCHAW's IPOD or whatever you named your iPod... If you go to that disk, you'll notice there's nothing in there.
3, Click on Organize at the top right part of Windows Explorer(Windows 7, don't know how in XP..), go th the Folder and search options, view tab, and click on show hidden files, folders, and drives.
If you go back to your disk, you should be able to find a folder
4, It'll be pretty straightforward then. Go to iPod_Control/Music. You'll find folders there. Inside the folders are each of your music files (they're renamed but the Details would still be about the same).
If you did get your music files back from this procedure, then, yay! it worked!!
If you didn't,.... it should've worked.. -

ThanksFile>Transfer Purchases in iTunes will transfer items purchased from the iTunes store.
If you have items from other sources (ripped CD's, etc.) on the phone, you can't transfer those without purchasing 3rd party software.
Restore the backup of your old computer or just copy the data from the old computer to the new one. -
