Old Domain Password still remain useable

Recently I have just changed my domain admin password. The new password are enforced in the servers hence the old password cannot be used. However, when I tried to install program in other user laptop using the new domain password it was not accepted but
the old password can be used instead. I have remove the domain admin profile on the system after that but the new domain admin password still cannot be used.
Question now is - Why some of the laptop cannot be access using the new domain admin password and some of the laptop can? (All of them are running on Win 8. Domain Admin profile have been deleted as well. )

That should be due to cached credentials. It is possible to disable them but this would impact your end users as they have laptops: http://www.itworld.com/article/2779749/windows/how-to-disable-credential-caching-on-client-computers.html
Cached credentials allows end users to login without the need to reach a Domain Controller for validation. As long as the user logged in once successfully then he can re-authenticate even when he is not connected to your network. So, if you change the admin
password then some laptops might not be aware of this and will continue using the old password.

Why does the old iphoto library still remain after the upgrade? Takes up HUGE space on my laptop
Actually, it only looks like it takes up additional space. The file size shown is misleading.  When you migrate an iPhoto library to Photos, both libraries will show the media files using hard links. The actual file content of the image files and videos is shared by hard links:
See this linked document:   Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries - Apple Support
You will gain no free storage at all by deleting either the iPhoto Library or the Photos library.  So keep both libraries until you are very sure, that Photos is working well  on your Mac and your iPhoto library has been migrated correctly. Also, check, if you like the workflow in Photos. It is very different from iPhoto and some iPhoto features are not supported.
There will be no easy way back to iPhoto, if you delete your iPhoto library or the iPhoto application. Apple does not sell it any more.

  • Personal Domain changed but iWeb still remains with the old one

    Hi,
recently I changed my Personal Domain on MobileMe. Unfortunately iWeb still remains with the old one: Even if I create a new iWeb-Domain the problem occurs. I also checked whether this is a local iMac problem or not but it isn´t unless I have the same issue with my MacBook Air using the same MobileMe Account. Every time I open iWeb the 'Settings Page' shows the old personal domain name (displayed in brackets behind the MobilMe Account information). At MobilMe the new Personal Domain name displayed as the active one.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks in advance

I have this same problem.. Any help would be appreciated!!!

I had an apple ID that I could never remember. I did manage to redeem a gift card on it with a balance still remaining. I made a new apple id today, and it says I cant use the remaning gift card money on any of my apps with my new apple id? The balance shoes up on my new apple id but it wont work? I tried to log in under my old apple id, but I cant as my new one as been created?
    How do I fix this?
    Thank You?

Any purchases and downloads associated with an apple id are forever tied to that apple id. You can not merge any content, purchases, or info between the two accounts.

  • Renamed Domain - Clients Still "joined" to old domain, can't open Group Policy Management on Server

Performed a Domain Rename as per the following instructions:
    http://www.bauer-power.net/2011/05/renaming-windows-domain-with-rendom.html#.U4OZRPmSyTM
and then after these issues I have gone through the related technet articles starting here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc794793(v=ws.10).aspx
specifically the Fix Group Policy Objects and Links.
But still I have the following issues:
At least for group policy clients believe they are on the old domain - despite even having renamed the computers with the new domain name.
When I perform a gpresult the output file shows as being connected to the old Domain - despite manually going into computer properties and renaming the computer with the new domain name...

On the server I cannot open Group Policy Management on the single Domain Controller as it is looking for a DC on the old Domain:
Even though it has listed the new domain in the root of the management console when I attempt to expand it out I am prompted:
"The specified domain controller could not be contacted. This affects the following domain in the console.
    Domain: olddomain.local
    The error was:
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted."
I can select to remove the domain from the console but this does nothing - as said it already shows the new domain in the console.
Far as I am aware the clients should not even of needing renaming or changing the domain, but were having authentication issues before I did this. Not sure what I have done wrong here..?

I have changed my icloud user Id and password, but the old user ID still pops up and ask for my password. I cannot delete my old icloud account as it keeps asking password of my old user ID. how can I rectify the problem?

    Hey HKKL,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are having issue relating to the iCloud account after changing your Apple ID email address. The following article addresses this issue and potential resolution:
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS5223
    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    1. Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    2. Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    3. Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    4. Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I bought a computer from an old co-worker and it still has there iTunes on it. It's not really a big deal but when I go to update my apps I have to have the old owners password and I have no contact with them. Is there anyway to get rid of this?

When I try to update apps that automatically come with the iPhone it won't let me because I don't have the old owners password. If there is anything I could possibly do, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!

You should delete any the apps and media purchased with their account, then create your own AppleID (if you haven't already) and sign in with it.

  • Windows domain password expired

Macbook Pro, bound to Windows domain, running 10.7.5
This one user's domain password expired.  Now, she can't log into the Mac with her new password.  That's all.
I'm a Windows admin, but I'm fairly competent in supporting OSX.  I'm hoping there's a very easy fix to sync their current password with the domain controller.  For my first trick, I've tried plugging her into the wired network until the red dot goes away and network accounts are "available".  Didn't work.  Unbind, re-bind to domain didn't help either.  Other AD accounts can log into this Macbook with their current passwords (for example: I haven't logged in in over 90 days, our default password expiration period, and I could get in just fine AND I was prompted to update my keychain password)
Side note:  I was hoping to find the equivalent of a "gpupdate /force" for OSX, but that seems to be hard to find.
    What other information is needed?
    Thanks!

Hi, did you manage to solve this?
    I have a similar issue:
    - Suddenly, more than one week ago, I could not unlock my Mac, hence I believed that my domain password had exipred
    - By using Outlook Web Access I logged in with the old password, which made me realise that the password wasn't expired after all
    - I thought it was useful to change the password anyway, and I did that using OWA
    - I got back to the Mac and realised that I could not login with neither the old and new passwords!
    - I forced reboot the Mac, and now I can login only with the *old* password, the one that stopped working!
Since then, I need to use the old password on the Mac and the new on all other network resources associated to the domain. All of this happened while in my office, so no networking complications. I have spent time with the Mac still on the same network but the new password never got 'propagated' to it since.

Could you please check the relationship and the underlying records between foreign key table and primary key table? We must insert Data into the parent table which containing the Primary Key, before attempting to insert data into the child table containing

  • How can I remove my very old Apple ID from my Iphone 4S as I have created other apple IDs.The old one is still staying on my mobile but that email doesn't exist anymore. I cant rest my mobile as this email address is staying my icloud setting.

    Q:-
How can I remove my very old Apple ID from my Iphone 4S. The old ID is still staying on my mobile but that email doesn't exist anymore. I cant rest my mobile as everytime i tried it asks ID password which I don't remember.

    Hello mushysun,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you did not sign out of your Apple ID on your iPhone before creating a new one, then you will need to sign back in with your previous Apple ID and then sign out.  If you do not remember your password and do not have access to the email account, then you can reset your password by using the security questions.

    Hello pscorning1,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of your question. If you have already changed the information associated with your current Apple ID (*not* created an entirely new Apple ID), you may find the following article about updating the various Apple ID services helpful:

  • Old domain was removed and Unable to login as domain administrator account in windows 7 laptop

I have a problem with a laptop which is in old domain, due to some issue I need to uninstall some of the programs on that machine for
that it is asking administrator password, so when I was entering old domain’s administrator account password it is not logging in, and there is no other local administrator account configured on that machine, how to log in into that machine and join that to
    the new domain.
I am trying to log in as <domain-name>\administrator

    Hi,
Logon to a domain with domain account is an interactive process, which needs cooperation of both DC and DNS. Since the old domain is delete, then, log in as <domain-name>\administrator to the old domain will failed.
Open CMD, type “net user”, and press Enter to display user account of this computer. Check to see if any account which has administrator permission you can remember.
Besides, type “net user administrator”, if the Account Active is YES, try to use this built-in administrator account to logon:
Press Alt + Ctrl + Delete, select Switch User -> Other User, type <computer name>\administrator. (there may be no password if you haven’t set this)
If there is no administrator permission account which you can use to logon, reinstall the system should be needed.

  • After migrating a windows 7 machine using ADMT Group policy shows the the computer is from the new domain but user is from old domain

We have migrated machines using ADMT tool but we have found some window 7 machines Group policy issues.  We see that the computer GP is getting from the new domain but the users profile still has the old domain GP information.  Any help on
removing the old GP objects and forcing the new domain User policy would be great.  We have tried the basic troubleshooting gpupdate /force reboot etc.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Sorry for the delayed response.
First, please verify whether these domain users you mentioned belong to old domain or new domain.
If they belong to old domain the GP is right with no problem. If they belong to new, try following suggestions.
Please test these steps in one of the problematic computer. If it worked, then go on for others.
To avoid unexpected problems, please backup your register keys before following steps:
Open regedit.exe, and delete following keys:
HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft Key (looks like a folder).
    HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft Key.
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy Objects Key.
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies key
    Exit the registry and restart.
    Note: HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE & HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER
