Old email address...can't authorise music on new laptop

Hi
I have transferred my library from my ipod to a new laptop. Some of the music was purchased using a now defunct email address which I can't remember the password for. How do I authorise the music to my laptop.
Kind Regards
Diane

Excuse me, if the above named knew where he put his library, I would imagine he would be able to retrieve it without your exceptional help. I have had my computer stolen and now have a new laptop. I can see my purchase history as well, but it's like trying to get into the Kremlin to find an answer on how to download my music again to the new laptop. I obviously didn't have time to save my library while I was being robbed.

  • New PC, old email address - I cannot authorise my Adobe ID

I have a new PC.  I have transfered over my old email address (as you do).  I want to authorise Adobe Digital Edition so I can load ebooks onto my eReader.  Adobe will not let me Authorise my new PC as: "You can only authorise this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorise any other computer of mobile device." To me this appears to be a fatal floor - people update there machines and, at the same time, retain email addresses.

That is very likely an example of ADE getting its registration screwed up.
It is very happy to do this, and then often gives incomprehensible or incorrect error messages as a result.
Try completely removing authorization: ctrl-shift-D to ADE (cmd-shift-D on Mac)
    Restart ADE.
Try again to authorize with your ID.

  • Songs from old email address can't be authorized

I've tried everything on support sites to get songs to play from my old email address. They ask to be authorized one by one and I don't know the password from the old email address. When I try to reset the password it doesn't even recognize my birthdate. I can't even call a tech support number or get an answer to a chat or email. I bought all those songs and now itunes basically has stolen them from me - feeling like calling a lawyer.
I've tried authorizing from administrator, resetting password bla bla.

  • Apple ID and old email address can't be taken out of my phone.

Old apple ID and old email account is registered in my phone for icloud.  Cannot change password because it says my birthday does not match.
It asks for the password before you can remove the account from the phone, but I can't get the password???

    all in the cloud.
they all end in the same domain.
I can use my on prem credentials to hit some but not the one. I can use a service account to hit the same ones but not the one through code.

  • Old laptop stolen, can't add music from new laptop to iPhone

Basically, my old laptop was stolen out of my car, so bought a new one. I've put all my backed up music onto my new laptop, but can't add music from my new laptop to my iPhone. I've deauthorised my old laptop and authorised my new one, but iTunes wont let me drag music across into my iPhone. What do I need to do to add music to the phone?

  • Lost old email and need to transfer music to new computer

My old email linked to an old itunes account was hacked and I no longer have access. I can't reset my password so i can't authorize my new computer to use the old music purchased. is there anything I can do?

With respect to backup, you were on the right track.  And I am not going to fault you for iCloud , but it is not really a system level backup facility.  And I would say the lightning comes under natural disaster.  Off-site can be taking a backup disk to a friend/family/office at work/bank safety deposit box, but somewhere that is not next door and is not in the same flood plain.  Or it can be a true cloud backup service (CrashPlan, Mozy, Carbonite, SugarSync, etc...).  NOTE: CrashPlan can be used in "Free" mode to backup across the net to a computer you control, or a friend/family members computer.  Just arrange to locate some storage there.  You can reverse the favor by hosting their CrashPlan backups on your system.
The new IMac has no firewire slot so it must be by USB . What about SATA?
You should have USB3, which is vary fast, and USB3 enclosure are not very expensive.  I would go that route.  If you want, you can get a Thunderbolt to Firewire adaptor, but I would only do that if you have some Firewire drives hanging around your house you wish to use.  SATA is the cabling between the enclosure controller and the disk itself.  Macs do not use eSATA, so that is not an option.  Besides USB3 is way faster than your disk itself.
Bear with me. My grandson is helping with this. I am too old for it.
Dude!  While I don't have any, my "Younger" sister is a "Grandmother"!  You can do anything if you want to.  And you seem to be doing very will.
NOTE:  If the old Mac disk is "Toast", hopefully you can put the LaCie disk into the USB enclosure and recover using that.

  • Can't set up new itunes account because confirmation email comes to old email address (can see it on iMac but can't access on iPhone)...what to do?

Use Manage Apple ID in the link provided. You do not need to create a new Apple ID as the other poster suggesred. Once done you old e-mail wo't be used as an Apple ID anymore.
Do you have music, apps or books bought using the old Apple ID?
Note: Content bought using one Apple ID cannot be merged or transferred to another Apple ID.

  • Hi, I have deleted my old apple ID as it was my old email address and replaced it with a new one but cant seem to make my Iphone and Ipad forget the old one and Icloud will not let me in. also when I try my old password or try and reset it it will not let

I deleted/changed my old apple ID (from the apple webb site) and I have changed all my Apple products onto the new ID, but they all randomly ask for a password for the old ID (which now will not work and I can't change) the biggest problem is that my icloud account will not let me in to do anything.
my knowledge of Apple is limited.

We need to be clear here. Did you create a second ID, or just modify the single ID?

  • HT5312 I set up an icloud on an old email address that I can't access anymore. So I created a new account as I couldn't remember the security question answers for the old account. My iphone links to the old account. How do I change it to the new one?

When I set up the icloud I was using my then email address. My email address has now changed.
I tried to access under the old email address to change it to a new email address but I couldn't remember the security questions and as I can't access the old email address, I can't change it. So to solve the problem I set up a new account under the new email address. The only problem is my iphone is still asking for the old email address password which doesn't work.
How do I connect my iphone to the new account as it wont let me delete the old account on the iphone without the password (which as mentioned above doesn't work)?

    Content and Apple IDs -
Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with one Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

  • TS3899 When sending an email using my iphone it always goes to an old email address and not the address set up in settings

I have removed an email address from my Iphone and have added a new one. My new one has been set up in the settings as the default account. When trying to send an email the phone always asks for a password for the old email address and will not use the new address. How do I get rid of the old address and use the new one? I have used the delete account to remove the old email address.

Try chnaging the Default Account in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
You can also try to Reset All Settings from Settings > General > Reset.
If neither of those work, try restoring the iPhone.

  • I have changed my apple I'd primary email account yet when I try to buy things from the App Store it keeps showing the previous email address- can any one advise why?

I have changed my apple I'd primary email account and saved the changes yet when I try to buy from the App Store it still lists the old email address- can anyone advise how to fix this?

What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app ? If it's the old email address that you had on your account then try tapping on it and log out of your account and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.
