My son gave me his old iphone and we changed the name to my email address and Apple id etc. Yesterday I downloaded the new 7.0.2 update and now icloud is showing up as my sons old email address. How do I change it back to my email address please?

Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone and sign in with own appleID. setting --> iCloud --> Sign out You can check your status and connected devices on icloud.com

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. Your homepage might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc have been know to ask to become your homepage.
There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.
If that doesn't work you should look at the article [[Preferences are not saved]].

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

Click on the Hot Corners.. button and look at the four definitions. In the picture below, if you moved the cursor to the right top of the screen, it would slide all the applications off the screen as you describe and show the desktop. Set it to "-" to deactivate.

I hate the new downloads-in-a-tab scheme. This was an unnecessary change in my book (if it aint broke, don't "fix it").
So in order to get it back, I performed the about:config browser.download.useToolkitUI change, but now all I get is a blank download window that pops up every time I download something.
Is there something else that I need to do? I've checked the change and it was saved, but it didn't resolve my issue as much as it just caused me a new issue.

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

I made the mistake of putting my e mail address as the rescue e mail and cant seem to see how to change my email

as i am new to apple i made up an id for my apple id and put my e mail address as my rescue email. how do i change my details so i can delete my rescue email and use it for my primary and id.
can anyone tell me what i can do as i cant verify my apple id because they send the verification e mail to my non existing e mail

On my email, my delete boxes that I check to delete old emails have become doted lines and I can no longer check so many at one time to delete

I have a local internet provider and when I log onto my account thru Firefox there use to be a square box to the left side of the email that I could check to delete how ever many I wanted to on that page at the same time. Now those boxes have become little dots and you can't check them to delete them. The boxes are still there when I log on thru Google chrome. Please let me know what to do. Thanks, Daryl

I upgraded to 8.1 and now my iphone doesn't appear anymore in the itunes screen. I can see the iphone photos on my computer screen but there is nothing where the device used to show up. I can't back up and I can't see how much storage space is occupied.

Does anybody know how I can restore my itunes to recognize my iphone? I updated to Windows 8.1 and now there is no recognition of my iphone as a device in the itines window.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

So as the title says I changed my email for my apple ID because I'm getting rid of an old email account. My iPhone is still trying to use my old email as the login ID so it doesn't work obviously. How can I change my apple ID in my iPhone?

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using the new ID.
