Old email address to new itunes account

have new iphone and want to set up new itunes account using old email address that is linked to home itunes account - how do I change so I can still use my old email address and set up new itunes account? thanks!

Changing devices is no reason to create a new Apple ID.
All content purchased from iTunes is permanently linked to the Apple ID it was purchased with.
To update apps purchased with the old ID, you MUST sign in with that Apple ID.

  • How do I update my ipod touch with my  new email address for my  itunes account?

How do I update my ipod touch with my new email address for my itunes account?  I recently changed my email address and updated it on my itunes account but now my ipod keeps asking me for the password associated with my old email address.

I did this and I still get a error message about either the
password or the email account is incorrect!

  • How can I change my email address on my Itunes account if the old email address has been closed down?

Hi, my brother is struggling to log in to his itunes account. He has been using an old email address but not actually logged into his email account for quite a while. All of a sudden he hasn't been able to sign in to itunes. He has been trying to change over the email address but it looks like the old email address account has been deleted. Any ideas he can go around this to change it over?

    Hello amy_c22,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From what I understand is that your brother no longer has access to the email being used for the Apple ID.  He will be able to change his Apple ID if you follow the instructions in the article below:

  • I want to use a different email address for my iTunes account.

My Apple ID is tied to my old email address at Comcast. I no longer have Comcast. I am told that I can't change this. If I create a new account using my me.com address how do I export/import all of my music and apps that were bought under the old ID? This sounds like it would be a pain

You can set up an email address for your husband by following this guide.
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44610
Unless you either use different web browsers, ie you use Chrome browser and your husband uses Internet Explorer or you both have different Windows users accounts on your computer you can not have different homepages as such.
The work around would be to set your browser to open with two tabs, one being your homepage and the other being your husbands home page. I don't use Chrome so I am not sure exactly how you would do that but it would be similar to open your home page then in a seperate tab open your husbands then got to tools in the browser menu and find the setting "set as home page" and save it.

  • Help with email address please and iTunes account

I have had a iTunes Account now for the last 4 years maybe more and I have a iTunes account that I used my email address which I have had for over 10 years, I I done the iPhone update for a iPhone 4 and it was telling me my password was incorrect it was also saying the same for my ipad4. I have tried and tried to recover my password from hotmail with NO luck what so ever the form comes back saying not enough info when I have filled in every question. I am going to have to make a new email address but can I chance my email and keep my same iTunes account or do I also need to make a new iTunes account? Thanks
    Any help would be great

I would not create a new Apple ID as this will cause lots of confusion when you try to update the apps you've already purchased. Go to this Apple support page for Managing Your Apple ID and sign in, then search for how to change your email address. If you can't get it done contact Apple Support.

  • How do I transfer music from an old iTunes account/library on an old PC to a new iTunes account/library on a new Macbook Air?

I have an old iTunes account on an old PC.  I bought a new MacBook Air less than a year ago.  When I was at the store, purchasing my new Mac, I couldn't remember my old iTunes account password.  The sales rep encouraged me to open a new iTunes account, and assured me I would be able to merge the two accounts.  I have put very little music on my new iTunes account, and I want to figure out how to transfer my old account onto my new computer.  I am about to purchase the new iPhone, which I will use as my main music source since my old iPod just died.   I want to make this transfer before I make my new purchase, as I will be getting a $50 iTunes credit, and I need to know which account to attach it to.  (Also, I was given an iTunes credit on my new iTunes account when I purchased my MacBook Air, which I have not fully used yet.)

Thanks for your prompt response, Niel.  I had already seen that link.  So, my question is if I can't merge the accounts, then what will happen when I move my old library to my new computer?  Will the new computer then have the two separate libraries or will the old library replace the new library?
Also, if both libraries can co-exist on my new computer, it sounds like I will have to choose which library I want to put on my new iPhone, correct?  I won't be able to put music from both, is this right?

  • HT1918 Why can't I use my icloud email address for my iTunes account

Tired of the cox communications inability to imap emails, going to dump it completely want to use the icloud email address I have, why can't I change my apple id to that email address

"Well, then I want to be able to merge that one and the one my purchases are on..."
This is exactly what I want to do but don't think I can:
    I noticed the following :
If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.
    Best wishes -

  • Why is it taking so long to receive my confirmation email for my new iTunes account?

I just turned 18 today, and got a new iPad 2. I have completed all the registration questions to get a new iTunes account, but the confirmation email has not arrived in over 5 hours! Any suggestions?

Yes I think it might take awhile, 5 hours is not too long, but I know what you mean about usually getting confirmation emails right away.. I can't recall how long it took me to recieve my confirmation email, as I registered years ago.  It could come at anytime.  You will get it soon.  If I were you, I wouldn't be worried.  I'd just give it more time.

  • Moving email addresses to new Bt account

My current broadband package from BT is in my husband's name and as far as I understand the only way to change it into my name is to shut the account and start again as there seems to be no way to simply transfer names without him dying.
My question is therefore, if we were to do this would it be possible to transfer some of the email addresses associated with his account over to the new account? Ie. can I keep the email addresses for myself and children?

  • Is there a way to transfer an email address on my iTunes account to new iTunes account?

I just bought a new iPhone 5C for my daughter.  Up until now she has had an iPod touch and so I set her up with an email address that is linked to my iTunes account.  That way she has been able to share my apps etc.  Now that she has her own phone I'd like to set her up with her own account.  Right now her email address is listed under my iTunes account.  Can I change that when I create her her own?

    Hi cioTA,
An email address that is associated with another Apple ID can not be used to make another Apple ID. In order to use it as an Apple ID you would have to remove it from yours. See this article -

  • Moving old BT email address to new BT account

I have an 'old' BT email address from years ago which I am currently being charged £1.60 a month for, but I am an existing BT broadband customer.
How can I get this old BT email address linked up to my new account, and stop the £1.60 a month extra I'm having to pay?
    Would appreciate if anyone knows.
