Old email reappearing after deleted

I am experiencing two problems 1) I delete emails and when I check my email again it reappears. how do I stop this from happening? 2) i close applicarions and they reappear? Please help

Sounds like you have your computer checking a POP account and your computer thus gets copies from the server and you don't have your comptuer set to delete from server once downloaded/deleted thus they are still on the server.  Thus when your phone checks the server they are there.  POP accounts were never intended for this mobile age.

WWhy do my emails keep reappearing?

Well...here's a wild guess. Every time you turn on your iPad, THERE THEY ARE AGAIN!! Just kidding, of course. It would be helpful if you could provide a whole lot more details. For example, what are you doing with them to make them go away? etc. etc. Once you provide that additional detail — step by step — I'm sure someone would be able to help you. Cheers...

  • Cookies reappear after deleting.

Safari 6.1.4 (and older): I remove cookies a couple of times a day and have noticed that some reappear either immediately after leaving the site, or later that day or even the next day. Sometimes afer quitting Safari and computer put to sleep. Some reappear after deleting multiple times. They are not related to homepage. Also, did not revisit the orignating specific websites visited such as the worst - Wells Fargo.

Safari does not have good cookie management.
If you are really concerned about cookies, use a different browser such as Firefox or Chrome

After you delete them, empty the trash before they re-load.

    1. See my User Tip for some help: Some Solutions for Resetting Forgotten Security Questions: Apple Support Communities.
    2. Here are two different but direct methods:
        a. Send Apple an email request at: Apple - Support - iTunes Store - Contact Us.
        b. Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support
            and service.
    3. For other queries about Apple ID see Frequently asked questions about Apple ID.
    4. Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions

What you are describing sounds like you created a new apple id with your new comcast email address. There may be apps on your ipad that are associated with another id that was using your verizon email address. If thats what you're saying then those apps need to be updating by using the apple id that was used when they were downloaded.
If you're talking about something else then maybe a lttle clarification is necessary.
Go to settings/itunes and app stores. make sure the correct apple is shown.
Go to settings/mail, contacts and calendars. Makes sure all of the accounts are current.
Go to settings/icloud, facetime and messages, verify the same.

  • How do I delete my iCloud account that is storing an old email address after I changed by Apple ID?

I changed my Apple ID online to a new email address, but now my iCloud account on my iPhone still has the old email address when it prompts me for a login.  I can't change the email address, so I want to delete it, but I can't delete it without a password and the password for my new Apple ID doesn't work.  I am forwarding my emails from the old email address to the new, but when I request a reset on my password, nothing shows up.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Will I still recieve emails from my old email account after creating an iCloud email account on my devices?

After creating an iCloud email will I still recieve emails from my old email account account on my devices?

If the old email account is a non-iCloud email account, then yes.  You will continue to receive email from your old account as long as it is still set up in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.
However, if the old email account is an iCloud email account, you will have to add it back on your devices in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then sign in with your old iCloud account IC, in order to continue to receive it on your devices.  If you do this, the old email will be fetch only, not push.

  • Old emails have been deleted

I have been experiencing the same problems as thread 1793406 about emails sitting permanently in the outbox: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1793406 So I contacted my isp to re-setup my email account. I don't remember much about the process but I think it started by deleting the existing account and then setting up a new one.
As far as I can see all the old emails for this account were also deleted at the same time which was a bit of a shock, and a surprise that the isp assistant didn't warn me beforehand.
Fortunately I have a fairly recent backup of my emails, so I suppose one can simply drag them back into the newly configured account!? (any guiding advice on this would be welcome)
I suppose my question is is it necessary to completely delete an account in order to reconfigure it?
    Thank you...

in what form do you have your backups? please be specific.

that question is far too general to give a meaningful answer. it depends on the problem. usually it should not be necessary to delete an account but if nothing else works you might have to.
    Thank you...

  • Contacts reappear after deleting them (Exchange)!?

    Hello everyone,
I'm not entirely sure if the following problem only occurred after upgrading to Yosemite or if it was there before.
However, I recently noticed "contacts" in the Mac contacts app that I didn't save there. They are just email addresses shown as such, without a name or anything.
Those where mostly people I've sent mails to, but didn't bother to save them as an actual contact. Nevertheless, that also happened with email addresses that where already linked to a proper contact. This for example confused FaceTime or Mail. Those apps where not able anymore to relate the mail addresses to the actual contact. After deleting those strange contacts everything was fine for some time, but now they keep coming back. Every time I delete them they show up again a day or two later. I have no idea what triggers that.
I've got two accounts synced with my address book. One being my iCloud account the other one an university Exchange account. Furthermore those contacts don't show up on my iPhone. I also noted that I don't see these contacts when I just choose the iCloud contacts in my address book. So I guess it must have something to do with the Exchange contacts!? I already deleted the account twice and also deleted the relevant library files as well as recent recipients from mail. Still they keep coming back. It's always the same couple of addresses and they don't really have something in common. At least nothing I can see.
It's really annoying. I should mention that I keep the exchange contacts in sync because I can then easily search for people's mail addresses from my university. Furthermore, as far as I know I shouldn't be able to create new contacts on that Exchange account and the contacts in question are not university mail addresses.
Has anyone experienced similar problems or does anyone know where the contacts app pulls those contacts from?
    Thank you for your help

Go to iMessages and Sign  out fo the Apple ID and sign in with a unique one for each phone.
You should not share Apple IDs for this exact reason.

  • Shortcut reappears after delete and restart

I have this last Icon/shortcut to a webpage Carbon CXHD pro which come back everytime I restart my phone after deleting it. This has survived all my software full updates as well from the time of IOS 6 onwards. I am annoyed where it is sitting the backup which it pushes back to homescreen even after deliberate attempts to delete it. Any one have any solution.

It was jailbroken at some point in the past. That's what causes this problem to begin with. As you have learned, it is not always possible to remove all traces of a jailbreak.
The only thing we can suggest is to put the phone in DFU mode and restore it. Do NOT restore your backup as it may be what's causing your problem now. You will have to re-build it from scratch. That's the best case scenario.

  • Deleted emails in Apple Mail IMAP account reappear after deleted

I delete the emails in my Apple Mail for an IMAP Gmail account, but the email keep reappearing as undeleted.

    Thank you so much!!!
Just switched to IMAP from POP and this was really bugging me.
Force closing Mail worked for me too.

  • My old email reappeared in my Inbox!

Why did many of the email messages which I thought I had trashed for good suddenly reappear in my Inbox?
So HOW DO you permanently delete messages? The last thing I'm currently doing is selecting all files in my email trash can and hitting delete. Is there more to do??

OK. So the old messages are now no longer on the server... But we don’t know whether they were there when you experienced the problem... Maybe they were there, something has caused Mail to download them again, and things are working properly now...
So what’s the current situation? Do deleted messages keep reappearing? Does it happen with all the messages you delete or with only some of them?
If there are only a few particular messages that refuse to be deleted by normal means, you may be able to get rid of them with Edit > Cut (⌘X) (for best results do it with one message or just a few at a time).
If it’s a more general problem, it could be that there is something wrong with the index, which you may re-create as follows:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see any other “Envelope Index”-named file there, delete it as well.
    4. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index — Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.
