Old Emails are now Today's Dates after Migration?

Hi there,
I have just migrated a client of Office 365, the same way I have done with a multitude of other clients very successfully. This time however, a select group of very old emails have transferred to the new system appearing as having been received at the time
they were migrated.
There are a few hundred old emails that have done this and I was wondering if:
1. Anyone knew why this had happened (is it to do with read receipts?)
2. Is there any way to rectify this without using a backup or will I need to use this
If it helps anyone, the client is using Mac Mail on his Mac and was previously using IMAP hosted by justhost.
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.

Hi,
Based on my research, seems this is a known issue. A workaround for this is to replace the "Date Received" column with "Date Sent" in the View. To do this, hold the option key when choosing the Date field in the Sort By menu. Also, selecting
"Date Sent" in the View -> Message Attributes menu will cause the date sent to show up in the column view.

  • Old emails are now unread on my blackberry yahoo but not on yahoo on my PC.

Recently I have emails from 1999 that are showing up as unread on my Yahoo mail on my blackberry. If I log on to yahoo from my PC the emails are not unread.
The first time this happened it was the very first email sent to my email account. Now it is the next to the last email.
I am also getting blank unread messages.
This always happens when a new email message comes in on my blackberry. But it doesn't happens with all new email messages.
    Please help!

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Old emails are now blank and source is in unreadable code.

I assembled an image - 2 screenshots in one. Top is what the older (Just last November) emails look like when opened now... blank. Bottom is the source code, which I would imagine, if I could decode it, would suffice. I attempted to go to the profile's folder with the .default extension in order to follow one set of instructions, but I could not see an option to repair folder in properties. If I was not supposed to access the folder via microsoft explorer, then oops... just let me know. HELP AND THANKS.

If im not mistaking the email has external links to pics on Youtube (Yimg.com) and those pics doesn't exist any more. I tried to see one but got nothing.

  • I changed my primary email address because I could not access my old email and now my new iphone asks me to sign in to my old account in order to backup my apps and music from my icloud

I changed my primary email address because I could not access my old email and now my new iphone asks me to sign in to my old account in order to backup my apps and music from my icloud. when I try to sign in using my password it says it is the wrong password.

If you are only updating apps, that's normal  Apps and other purchased media are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them.  You also don't back up apps or music to iCloud, the only thing backed up to iCloud is your app data, which is part of your iCloud backup by default.
Is your phone signed into the old ID in Settings>iCloud?

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

  • I just moved to iCloud and now my old emails are gone. How do I get them back?

I just moved to iCloud and now all my old e-mails (not from a me account) are gone. How can I get my e-mail back? Please Help!!

    Hi Roger!
You are right.  It was not exaclty the moving to iCloud that caused the e-mail to disappear. What happened after the change to iCloud was that I did see my old email but when I tried to open it just does not show any content.
Then I looked at some options and did Choose Mailbox > Rebuild.
That is when all my old mail disapeared.
    Any suggestions?
Thank you so much for your help!!

Can any one help me out. I have no "Time Machine" active on my mac book pro.

    Hi Roger
    Thank you for your reply.
    My original feed is: http://casa-egypt.com/feed/
However, because I modified the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast and nothing changed, I redirected it to another feed and then I deleted this feed.
Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is  http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.
    Thanks is advance.

  • When I deleted and then recreated the same account all the emails are now gone. Where did they go?

I was having problems with getting mail from my verizon email account. Suddenly stopped working when checking mail. Sending was fine. No server settings were changed. So as a last try before the nightmare of finally giving up on them I deleted the account and then set it up again. I now get the emails but all the old ones are gone. Where did they go?
I've read all the posts about the verizon smtp ssl issues but this (the missing emails that were alreadiny in thunderbird) seems to be a TB question.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Jack

  • IMPA Accounts - My old emails are gone!

I recently switched over my POP mail account to IMAP in Mail and also chose the option that Mail downloads ALL the mail from my server.
My IMAP email server keeps messages for 31 days before deleting them permanently so I thought by enabling that option they would still be available in my Mail application.
I was wrong. The other day when I was trying to find an old email I noticed that I got no emails in mail anymore older then August 31st. All of my old email is gone!
Is there no way to use IMAP and still tell Mail not to just delete all of your messages once the server automitically deletes them? Don't people want to store their email messages?
    Any solutions to this?
    Philipp

You may configure your POP accounts as follows to make your life easier:
    1. Go to Preferences > Accounts > Advanced, and set Remove copy from server to After one week, for example, to give both computers time to download all messages before they are removed from the server.
    2. Go to Preferences > Composing and check Automatically [Bcc:] myself, so that each computer receives a copy of every message sent. You may also want to erase copies of sent messages after a certain amount of time in Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors to avoid having two copies of them.
The main disadvantage of this approach as compared to IMAP is that it merely ensures that all messages are available on both computers. Read/unread status, mail organization, deletion, etc. cannot be synchronized.
Note also that Mail stores most preferences and all account settings in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist, and that everything else, including all your messages and mailboxes, is stored in ~/Library/Mail. Copying these (the preferences file and the entire Mail folder itself, not just its contents) from one computer to the other would allow you to have an exact copy of all your messages, mailboxes and Mail settings on both computers.
In order to avoid potential permission issues, the files should be copied operating on the destination computer and while logged in as the user that's going to use them. Also, be sure Mail isn't running on either computer while doing that.
In order to avoid accidentally losing any data, instead of overwriting the ~/Library/Mail folder on the destination right away, move it to the Desktop before transferring the files, and delete it only after making sure that you don’t miss anything.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

  • HT6030 Help!  I upgraded to Maverick and my emails are now really messed up.  It flagged over 5,000 messages when I haven't flagged anything.  Now, the email message that people are sending me is actually an email message from years ago.  Any explanations

Help!  I upgraded to Maverick and now my emails are really messed up.  It flagged over 5,000 emails that I have never flagged.  Now, it shows a message from someone this morning, but the content is an email that I received years ago.  My Iphone and Ipad are fine.  Any ideas?  I can't read mail off of my macbook because the email isn't what these people are sending!  Help!

Thanks one again. I know you helped me the last to. I do have the Deja Vu font set in my folder. I downloaded and the last time. So I don't know if there is supposed to be more or not, but those were installed with Windows-XP after my reformat.
This is really driving me nuts. as I've done several re-formats on my computer and several friends computers and even upgraded hardware so I am not necessarily a software or programming expert, I am somewhat advanced when it comes to computers in general and can usually diagnose the problem but these font's are the problem and they never were before.
I did see in another forum that if you had a Dell Computer and did the Microsoft update for the onboard video card driver that it could be the culprit, but I have that disabled being I have a much better graphics card so the updates from Microsoft for the onboard video weren't installed.
It' a Dell Dimension 3000 with an Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller so I don't believe it is the culprit being it is disabled. The actual video card that I am using is a PCI Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT with 1 GB Memory. And I didn't have any problem before.
I appreciate the help. But still can't get things to work. Live Help Chat doesn't open for another two hours so maybe they can do "Remote Access" or something and can check setting and help me. But if you come up with other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks again.

  • When entering time machine with Mail app, old emails are showing in inbox

    Hi All,
Has anyone encountered this issue or has a solution:
When I am in Apple's Mail application, specifically in my inbox and I "Enter time machine", my inbox count goes up by at least 100 extra emails and is showing in all recent backups and even in the "Now" setting. Old emails that I've already read and deleted/dealt with are showing up there and I'm not sure why. When I exit time machine, it goes back to normal and they disappear. I would like to have it accurately reflect what my inbox looks like now and the last few days. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Chris

I've tried what you suggested with all the steps, but additional emails are still showing in inbox in "Star Wars" mode. Also, many of the old emails showing are from over two years ago. Very strange!

  • HT1677 When I am searching and enter what I am looking for all of my old emails are popping up. Is there a reason for this and way to remove it?

While searching with safari when I am typing in what I am searching for all of my old emails pop in that are related to the subject. Is there a reason for this and or way to rid the search of this?

Sometimes you want to just to search something that specific. Like if I am searching "ebay" I want the address and site for ebay to appear not everyone of my previous emails reguarding Ebay or searches in regards to ebay and this is all that pops up.
