Old Express not compatible with 8.0 i-tunes?
I've had my Express for years with no issues, but when I downloaded the updated i-tunes software a few weeks ago I now have problems with it cutting out intermittently -- is anyone aware of incompatibility issues between older Express models and the new i-tunes software?
Sorry, you are stuck with whatever version of Slipstream that your ISP has available. They should know which versions of Firefox are supported by their accelerator plugin, because your ISP is more than likely paying Slipstream for every update that is necessary. <br />
Have you asked your ISP which versions of Firefox are supported by their accelerator plugin?
Beyond that, the only thing that I can suggest is to see if the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Addon Compatibility Reporter] extension forces that accelerator plugin work in Firefox 8, with the compatibility override. But, if that plugin hasn't been updated for a Firefox 4+ version at all, I doubt if it will work even with the ACR addon.

E61 backup with old firmware not compatible with n...
Hi, i wonder if anyone can help me. U had a fault with my E61 handset which was sent away for repair. however they were unable to repair it so sent me a new handset. it was an E61 handset however it appeared to have the newer version of the firmware. this consiquently meant that i was unable to restore it from the memory backup that i took. The file types appear to be arc files. i have tried numerous programs to try and open the files on my PC but all failed. If anyone could help me i'd be most appriciative.

DanI upgraded/bought to Leopard the day before Snow Leopard can out, never looked back. I was dumb to wait so long to upgrade. Leopard beats Tiger hands down. Be a happy camper and get Leopard. You can call Appel and order a copy. (It's not sold in the story.) if they are out, I doubt it. Try Amazon.com... Don't buy from eBay!
Sooner or later the Apple store might get tired activating iPads... They could... And if for some reason the iPad gets screwed up. Are you going to run down to the Apple store each and every time to have it restored. And if so you will lose all your stuff.
Besides that if you only activate the iPad you will only have 10% of the iPads capabilities. And if you need Tiger for some reason. Buy a second hard drive and boot Leopard from that drive. -
Old Bookmarks are not compatible with Firefox version 20+
Background Information:
I use the old client version 3.6 as there's an old utility addon that the author stopped updating and will not work with the newer revisions. Despite disabling the update feature both in about:config and in preferences, the browser still eventually updates (Originally I was using 3.4, and would prefer to use that, but no matter how much I try I can no longer roll it back from 3.6 to 3.4 even if I reinstall using a 3.4 installer). As a result I've had a habit of keeping a copy of my firefox directory in case it updates itself again without asking, which it has. This might help you guys out in answering the countless people who have lost their bookmarks due to the upgrades released this year, and will hopefully someone to investigate and release a patch/utility to fix the issue.
Issue:
I have verified that the newest clients from at least version 20 and onwards, are not compatible with the older bookmark JSON files. People who have been upgraded to the latest revision not only lose their bookmarks, but CANNOT restore them either, as Firefox will only return the error message: "Unable to Process the Backup File".
I have confirmed that the files themselves are perfectly intact with no sign of corruption, and are as intended. They restore ok to older browser revisions (In my case specifically 3.6), but will not restore to the newer client revisions. This is not a fault with the bookmark backups, but with the newer clients (I'm guessing they changed the way they store the information in the JSONs at some point. I note in the code for the JSONs that GUID was never used in the older revisions, but it is in the newer revisions. Perhaps this is causing an incompatibility issue? You just need to adjust the client so that it looks for the GUID and if none can be found to ignore it rather than decide the file is corrupt.

Solution?
Well in my case I had a backup copy of the old revision directory. To restore I opened the copy, and exported the bookmarks as an HTML, which I restored in the newer client. If you do not have a copy of the old client, the best thing would be to try and reinstall an older revision of the client and either make a copy of the program folder and use another copy of that so you can use both the new and old clients and not worry about the loss of an older revision since you'll always have 2 copies of the old client (One you're using, one you use to restore if it upgrades). Or you export the bookmarks as an HTML, then upgrade the client to the newest and import the HTML instead of the JSON files.
Please investigate and create an easier solution to a silly incompatibility issue. ^_^This happens if you create a backup and forget to add the file extension manually when Firefox didn't add it automatically or you may have removed it when modifying the suggested name.

My mac has OSX version 10.8.2 and I'm try to install an aiport express base station which requires 10.5.7 or later. Yet when I try to install the software it says the base station is not compatible with my mac version - how do I resolve?
You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express

I'm totally frustrated by iTunes and don't know how to solve my problem. Like a lot of people on here I'm not able to sync or back up my iPad2 with my iTunes (version 10.4.1.10). I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. My iTunes worked just fine until the 10.4.xx updates came out and since June I've not been able to back up or sync the iPad2.
When I connect and try to sync I get the error message, “iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPad.”
I've deleted all the old backups so there are none on my system. I've deleted iTunes and re-installed the 64bit version several times but it has not made any difference. I've read and followed several suggestions on these boards about how to remove and reinstall everything but none have worked yet. I'm stumped here.I had the exact same thing with my shuffle - same error message saying that it was corrupt so I restored it (wiping everything in the process) and the same message came up as soon as it reloaded. Thank god I didn't try it with my iPod or iPhone first. So many issues with this new version of iTunes!!!!!!!!

I recently had to purchase a new iPhone 4S. I backed up my old 4s to my iMac and when I went to restore, I got this message "iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored". I just purchased the iPhone 4S today so I know it's not the phone. How can I get my information back?
If it's corrupt, generally it would be lost.
However, there is third-party software out there that can retrieve some of the data, those of which however I could not recommend as I have never done so myself.
Also, if the old 4S was running a more recent software version than the current 4S, that may cause the issue however usually iTunes tells you exactly that.

Old Composite Video cable (Tangerine iBook) not compatible with Video iPod
I discovered a little surprise.
Despite being exactly identical on both ends of the cable, an old Apple Composite Video cable, originally purchased for a Tangerine iBook, is not compatible with Video iPod.
Anybody confirms such situation, or is it just my Video iPod with a faulty video output?

i've got a vodsaphone payg sim: i've been given an iphone 3g, and when i connected it to my mac and itunes, a message told me that the sim was :not compatible" with the iphone. is this because, as i've been told, my card is an old style sim and i need the newer style that works In smart phones? if so, how do i go about getting the right card.

I am running Yosemite and have just bought Pro Tools Express with the intent to Upgrade to Pro Tools 11. Pro Tools Express is not compatible with Yosemite and will not install. How can I get this done?
I have had this problem for close to a year. I have an Extreme base station, two Airport Express's and multiple G4 Mac's with up to date software. I have spent a huge amount of time trouble shooting, resetting, reapplying software and finally calling Applecare without any help. It would be great to get this problem solved.

I've been having a problem with needing to reset my older Airport Express once or twice a week, and I thought that I'd check my settlings and possibly get any updates available. I'm told when I try to use my current version of Airport Express Utility (6.2) that I need to unstall the older Airport Expess Utility 5.6. But when I tried to install Utility 5.6, I was told that it was not compatible with my operating system. Is it possible that under 10.8.2, I no longer have an usable Airport Utility program available?

Although OS X Mountain Lion comes with AirPort Utility 6, AirPort Utility 5.6 is perfectly compatible. Follow these steps:
1. Download AirPort Utility 5.6 > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482 if you have downloaded it yet, ignore this step.
2. Open Terminal and type:
cd ~/Downloads && pkgutil --expand ./AirPortUtility56.pkg ~/Downloads/AirPortUtility56 && gunzip -c<./AirPortUtility56/AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg/Payload | sudo tar -C / -xvf - "./Applications/Utilities/AirPort Utility 5.6.app"
3. Open Finder, go to Utilities folder and open “AirPort Utility 5.6” to set up the AirPort Express -
