Old i pad wont update

i have a real old i pad and the software update is at ios 5.1.1 and it says its up to date but when i try to download some apps it says i need to update my ios. i have no idea whats going on i even factory reset it... same problem is happening

The original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1. If you don't know what device you have, append the last three characters of its serial number to http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords= and load the page.
You may be able to download older versions of those applications.

My I pad wont accept updates waiting

Check iTunes and see if you have a pending/stalled download e.g. Podcast, Books, Music or Movies. Finish off the download and you should be able to update.

  • Old email address wont update

I have entered new email address' in Address Book on my Mac. When syncing the iPhone, the old email address comes up when trying to send a new email to the person (when you begin typing their name)
    I have restarted and resync'd .
Isn't the purpose of making updates in the Address book and other apps supposed to refresh what is on your iPhone?

The iPhone's mail client includes what is called a list of previous recipients, just like the Mail.app on a Mac includes. With the Mail.app on a Mac, you can access the list of previous recipients to add a previous recipient to the Address Book that is not already entered in the Address Book, or remove a previous recipient from the list.
Although the iPhone's mail client also includes a list of previous recipients, it isn't possible to access the list - at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge an email address from the list of previous recipients is to purge the entire list, and the only way to purge the entire list at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup. The list of previous recipients is included with your iPhone's backup so if you restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, you will also restore the list of previous recipients.

  • HT204406 cant find file.. itunes.msi from old itunes ..wont update or uninstall

i can not remove or update itunes...missing file itunes.msi

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Do I need to go to Iphone 6, seeing this looks like a dud.??

    Lol, no.
I'd first suggest getting a free SIM swap from your provider.
Also, try your mobile network settings at 3G and if the same continues.

  • My AppStore wont update my apps because my old iTunes account keeps coming up and asks for billing info HELP!!!

My AppStore wont update my apps because my old iTunes account keeps coming up and asks for billing info HELP!!!

Apps are always associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. This cannot be changed. To avoid getting the request you are seeing delete all apps that request the former Apple ID and download them again.
Any apps for which you paid a fee will require that you purchase them again.

  • My apps on my cell wont update because my old apple id still shows. i changed it but it doesnt show its changed on my cell app update

my app i.d. on my cell wont update because it still shows my old app id. i changed my id to a new one. old i.d. still comes up so i cant update anything. no password works or anything.

All apps are tied to the Apple ID used to buy/download them.
    This can not be changed.
You will need to use the old password or delete the apps and buy them/download them on the new ID.

  • My Apple ID changed and now my apps wont update

Recently my Apple ID was changed from chunkster92 to [email protected]  Now my apps wont update because they are looking for my original Apple ID of chunkster92.
When I look at the info block on the apps they indicatre that they are linked to an Apple ID of chucnkster92.  Apple wont let you have tan ID thats not an email address anymore.  So when the apps are trying to update they are looking for my old account of chunkster92 and not the account name format as Apple wants now of [email protected]
When I look at the apps page in iTunes and selct "all" apps at the top of the page, it indicates at the bottom of the page available.  When I try to update the apps the next screen says that there or no updates available.  I'm signed into iTunes as [email protected] and not chunkster92 which is the account the apps are looking for.
Short of deleting all 230 apps (I know, I could reduce that number some) and reloading them, how do I change the apps to look for [email protected] or reestablish my old ID of chunkster92?
    many thanks,
    chunkster92

  • IPod iTunes is up to date but my iPod wont update all songs???

The fact that Apple wants me to pay $50 for one incident...enough said! Sorry, I'm better now. So I have a legacy issue. iTunes version and iPod software versions are up to date but when I look at "My iPod" through iTunes it does not show all songs synced to my iPod?? Essentially my iPod is locked and grayed out and wont update new songs I have bought from iTunes. There is even a little lock at the bottom of the iTunes page "within" my iPod.... I cannot seem to unlock it and it is not because the iPod is physically on hold. Huge bummer - hugely annoying and Apple help desk wants $50 to tell me whats wrong with their product...

I've just started having a very similar issue. My iPod (20 GB dock connector, touch wheel with the four buttons above etc.) crashed for about the third time, wiped out all the songs on it and crashed iTunes each time I connected it to my Mac. In the past I have just loaded the iPod Updater again to re-install the software and start from scratch so I did this again. However, this is the first time I have done that after upgrading to iTunes 6 and I used an old iPod updater that I had previously downloaded (2005-03-23).
Everything seemed normal except none of the music I have purchased from iTunes will copy across to the iPod, error message = "some of the songs...were not copied..because your iPod software is too old. Go to...to get the latest iPod software update." I downloaded 2005-10-12 but it doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone help?
With the updater I have just run the .dmg which opens the volume and then I've run the .mpkg. Do I need to do anything else?!?!?

  • Ipod 5 wont update

I have an ipod 5 that is not even a year old and it will not let me update my apps. When I click the update it asks for my password and after i put it in it looks like its going to start but then it just stops...no message or anything. Also when im on Facebook or checking my email and i click on recent post it will just keep saying updating but wont update until i restart my ipod. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and sign out and sign back in
    - Update the apps in your iTunes library and then sync.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Ipod wont backup and wont update plzz help

my ipod wont back up so it wont update, im on 3.1.3. wy wont it backup?

I am having the same issue. When I plug in my ipod touch, it never gets past the backing up process, so I can't do anything.
My old pc broke so I am using a newer one. I downloaded itunes and authorized the computer so that it will work with my touch. I never had any problems on my old computer. Rign now I am running on windows vista, my touch is 2nd Gen, 8GB.
I updated to the newer version of itunes, but I can't update my touch with the new software.
I have been having these issues for months now. I am only trying to move over like 48 songs and remove some apps.
    Any help would be awesome.

  • App store wont update or download my apps

after i just got my internet connected after about a week without it, the apps tore will not update my apps. i tryed updating one and it says this: "snap collage- frame, caption, crop, edit, save to album and share photo creations on instagram, facebook, twitter and postcard' cannot be downloaded. Please try again later. I kept trying it just wont update same with my other apps unless i try to update them at a different wifi connectiong although wifi works fine on my other apps now and i cant get into the apps that i tryed updating at all now. please help

This usually means that the Apple ID you used to connect to the itunes store is not the same one used when buying the apps.  Purchases in the store are forever associated with the ID used to buy them.  Could this be the issue?  Go to Settings>icloud and verify which ID is currently being used.
