Hello, Everyone. I have an iPhone 5S with a iOS 7.1.2 version. I am giving it back to my company to get a new iPhone with a different cell carrier, so I want to restore it to its factory settings. To do that, I must turn off the Find My Phone app, which requires an iCloud username and password to accomplish. Unfortunately, it asks for my old iCloud username (old e-mail), which is so old I don't remember my password anymore. How can I delete an old iCloud account if I can't remember my old password? I have a new iCloud account, but my iPhone won't let me use it. It insists on going back to my old account, so a password reminder to my e-mail is no good. I also tried the security questions, and after I put in my birthday, it says it is wrong. I know when my birthday is. After hours of frustration, I am out of ideas and energy. Help someone.

Call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to the Account Security Team.

Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

Help!!! I've lost all of my contacts and information after the ios7 update. After the update I plugged my phone into my MacBook and it reverted back to my old icloud account. I checked my MacBook and everything on there is connected to my new icloud account. I'm not sure why this has happened, but I have been trying for two days to get my new icloud account back. I don't have the email address associated with the account anymore. So I attempted the security question option. When I entered my birthdate, it said that it was incorrect. If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

I do not remember it because when I bought the my iPhone 4s in 2011 I didn't understand how it works and asked a representative to set it up for me. The representative helped me and gave a piece of paper with login and password but I lost it a long time ago.
Before resetting the settings I turned off "Find my iPhone" function, but it anyway asks me to enter my old Apple ID and password. I have the original box, documents, receipt. So how can I solve this problem?

That's Activation Lock. You will need to remember the Apple ID and password you used to set up the phone.
If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

I was hacked awhile back and had to change to a new email. i was able to change my itunes account over but my icloud did not come over to the new account.

Use the Settings app to sign out of the old ID and sign in with the new one.
Settings > iTunes and App Store > tap on the Apple ID > Sign Out > then sign in with the correct Apple ID.
Not that all apps purchased or downloaded with the old Apple ID will require the old ID and password in order to be updated. To avoid this delete all apps associated with the old ID and download them again with the new ID. Be aware that you will most likely lose data associated with deleted apps and you will have to pay again for any apps that have a fee.

There is no p/w related to it and even though I tried to reset "password" it won't allow as the id does not exist, neither does the email associated with the old id. It's all rather odd because the old account cannot 'no longer exist' - if you don't have the correct password you won't be able to get into it, but you can't actually delete an iCloud account from the server.
I'm afraid you will need the services of iCloud Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

As posted earlier, you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and clicking on the Find your Apple ID on the bottom right. If you are able to find the ID, you can then reset the password here:https://iforgot.apple.com/, allowing you to access your iCloud account again.
