Old icloud notes show as blank

Upgraded my Early 2013 MBP retina 15" to Yosemite 10.10 (14A389).
All my iCloud Notes show as blank (see image), new ones show up fine.  On my phone, those old notes have the content.
I tried unchecking the notes box in prefs > icloud, i tried restarting the mac, etc. to no avail.
New notes sync just fine and show content just fine.
Pic of issue:

I had exactly the same problem.  I unchecked my google, exchange and iCloud notes setting in iCloud and Internet Accounts, then zapped the files in /Users/myusername/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/Data/Library/Notes, then re checked the iCloud Notes setting and it fixed the problem.
BUT be aware, I first thought it had not as I had recovered some more of them, but some were still blank, but then I checked 5 minutes later and they had recovered.  Basically, the activity monitor showed 1MB received and then stopped, then 5 minutes later it read 2MB and all were recovered.
What I would suggest is that you do this and do not let the mac sleep or anything while it is recovering this.
I hope this helps.

  • ICloud not showing in Numbers

I've installed numbers 2.2 (516) on my 2011 i5 macbook air as well as the entire iWork '09 suite along with the iWork 9.2 update and I cannot get iCloud to work with numbers.
When I open Keynote, or Pages, it opens to the apple document library allowing me to choose from documents on my Mac, or in iCloud, but when I open numbers, it opens to the template chooser. Also, when I create a spreadsheet and choose File>Move To iCloud is not an option like it is with Pages and Keynote.
I've attempted reinstalling iWork along with the update a few times as well as turning off Documents & Data in the iCloud settings under system pref. Any ideas why this might not be working? I'm on Mountain Lion 10.8.2. Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem!   I updated to iOS 8 on my iPad and iPhone. Then made sure all the iCould settings are correct under settings, including making sure iCloud Drive is on. Then on both of my iOS 8 device I went to log into the Web based iCloud page, signed in and all I get is this old looking interface that thinks I am back in 2011 signing up for iCloud for the very first time. If you click on this page you are taken to the old iCloud instruction web page and told how to sign up for it.
Now on my Mac desktop (in Mountain Lion) I can get to the Webpage for iCloud sign in and it logs in properly and shows me the drive and all is fine. It also works on my Windows RT Surface 2 in the browser. But on any of my iOS 8 Devices it is NOT WORKING. In fact it is not working anywhere; no drive App on the splash screen anywhere and even in Apps like Pages (that have been updated) it is not working. All I get is the old filing system. Even though it is working on the Web; well somewhat.
This is a big fail! And please, people are not stupid, most of us know how to make sure it is on and that we are using the right devices. In fact when I first installed it, my device walked me through the steps very well. I could have done it with one finger and blind and it would still have been set up right. This is what Apple is good at. But for a lot of us iCloud Drive is not working.

  • Icloud not showing iOS7 iphone or Mavericks MBA

    Hi everyone,
I just updated my iPad mini to iOS 8.0.2, making sure not to install iCloud Drive because 1) I have a MacbookAir running Mavericks (10.9.4) and  no intention of installing a beta version of Yosemite 2) I haven't had the time to update my iPhone.
Even without installing iCloud Drive, when I connect to my iCloud account, both my MBA and iPhone are no longer listed under My Devices.. So my questions are the following:
Does this mean that changes made in MBA or iPhone are not being transferred to iCloud? i.e. a new contact entry while not at home, or a calendar entry from an email checked on my mac?
If yes, then how can I fix this?
If not, then why are they not showing up?
    Thanks the help!
    Lili

I just talked to Apple Support, after upgrading to ios7...and testing more with the maiden name field...
There reply was that the "Mainden Name" field is unique to OS X Contacts, and is no plans to bring it forward. I also just noticed that if a edit a contact that has this field on ios7 (the field doesn't show) and it syncs back via iCloud to my iMac...it wipes out the maiden name info!!!
I did notice that the new ios7/iCloud have several new/additional "relationship" fields, ie Spouse (which has been there) but now Mother, Father, etc....
Sooo... I guess I'll use the Father field to hold the maiden name info... works for me... :-)

  • Old birthdays not showing

Is this a bug or a setting that I am missing?
The problem happens on OS 4 and prior.
All my contacts with birthdays prior to the year 1932 do not show up on the calander.
In addition the recurring events in Microsoft Outlook prior to 1932 do not show up either.
How do I get the old brithdays to show up on my calander?

have you seen this other recent entry on the birthday bug?

  • ICloud not showing sent mail from my iMac

Hi all, if I go to iCloud mail and send an email the recipient receives it. However it doesn't show up in my iCloud sent mail. There is sent mail present but that looks to be just emails sent from my BB or iPad. While researching this issue I found this : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3390316 So I went to Mail and yes that "store sent mail on server" was not checked. I then checked it as implied in the above link, but the sent emails still do not show up. Could anyone advise please? TIA, Terry.

I am currently running Mail.app on ML.
My Mail.app and iCloud webmail settings were already congruent with those recommended regarding saving a copy of the Sent emails [Store sent mail upon the iCloud server].
Despite this being the case, I have found that Sent messages were not been getting saved reliably in Mail.app or upon the iCloud webmail interface.
Some did get saved though - rather odd.
I don't want to call my reported email problem as fixed but it seems hardly coincidental to me that once I had chosen to unflag Store deleted messages [Trash section] upon the iCloud mail server that such messages as were sent form my two iCloud addresses messages began to be saved reliably.
Surely this is indicative of some underlying misconfiguration with the iCloud server itself as Trash messages clearly aren't Sent messages and yet messages only began to be reliably saved once I had chosen to unflag Store deleted messages. As previously stated, I already had my mailbox behaviours set to Store Sent messages upon the iCloud server, but this proved to be of no avail until I chose to unflag Store deleted messages.
See attached picture for Mailbox Behaviours.

  • Old orders not showing in "My orders" section

Hi, I hope someone can give me a hand on this problem.
I bought a copy of Photoshop in July 2011 from the adobe shop, I downloaded it and have been using it. Over the weekend my computer was stolen so I need to reinstall Photoshop onto my new machine. I can see all the details in the "My products" section but when I go to the "My orders" section Photoshop is not showing at all.
What am I missing? Is this version no longer supported or am I doing something wrong?
Any help would be really appreciated, I've got customers fighting with me about deadlines and I really need some help.
    Thanks

  • Old emails not showing in mountain lion mail

I installed mountain lion and now, some of my emails received before the installation do
not show text. They only show the header and in the text area the circle and "loading", but
the text never appears. How can I fix that?

You could try deleteing and re adding your mail account.  But make sure your account type is "IMAP" before doing so.  If it is a "POP" account, you will loose all of your messages so it is important you make sure the account type is IMAP before deleting and re adding.

iCloud requires Lion, upgrade your OS.

  • Old iMessages not showing on iPhone 6 after upgrade from iP5

    Hey guys,
I've picked up my iP6 today and I can't see any of the old iMessages I've had. They are still showing on my MBP but not on the new iPhone (MBP is still running Mavericks as I don't want to upgrade before I submit the project for work next week... just a precaution ). Any ideas?

I haven't done a recent backup - any chance I can get them synced via iCloud? I've assumed this would happen since it's being constantly synced with everything else I've got running on iOS

  • ICloud not showing up in 10.7.5.

I'm using a MacBook Pro running 10.7.5. I only see MobileMe in my System Preferences, NOT iCloud. I should see that in my system preferences ... right? How do I get it to show up? I am able to login using www.icloud.com.
    Any Suggestions?

Go to  Apple>About This Mac, and check the OSX version.  It you really have 10.7.5, then you should have an icloud option in System Preferences.  If you really have 10.7.5, then here's an older post where someone could not do much with icloud although he had 10.7.5 (quoted below).  Can you possibly upgrade to a newer OSX?
    From:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/22009519#22009519
"I'm afraid I have the answer. Apple has been downright terrible making iCloud functionality clear for OS X Lion users. After bashing around for something, anything to help, I finally found this:
    iCloud System Requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
Down near the bottom of the page you'll find this obscure footnote:
    * Note: Although you can use iOS 5 and OS X Lion as noted above, you will not be able to take advantage of some iCloud features, such as Shared Photo Streams, iCloud Tabs, Find My iPhone Lost Mode, Documents in the Cloud for iWork, and Find My Friends location-based alerts.
This is indeed the case. All of the above listed OS X features (iWork being of interest in this case) are OBLIVIOUS of iCloud. You can't use it. You'll find other iCloud aware apps in 10.8.x are also iCloud oblivious in 10.7.5. Example: TextEdit. I've also been trying to use the one iCloud enabling app I could find that is 'supposed' to work with 10.7.5, that being iClouDrive. After having to turn off Gatekeeper to set up iClouDrive, I then found that it simply will not and cannot work on 10.7.5 despite assertions to the contrary from its young developer, Sebastian.
IOW: iCloud support on 10.7.5 is a meagre, minimal amount. All you really get is syncing of Mail, iCal, Address Book, Safari bookmarks, Notes and all the iTunes features. That's about it. Forget about syncing documents. You can't. Forget about all the kewl tools for enabling iCloud to do stuff Apple neglected. You can't. Forget about trying to set up your own sync folder inside 'Mobile Documents'. All you'll create is a nonfunctional mess.
This is extremely disappointing! But that's what Apple has handed us with OS X 10.7 Lion, one of my least favorite versions of OS X since cruddy old 10.0 and 10.1. If you haven't got the hardware to update to OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, you're stuck with 10.7.5 as the end of the line. I don't foresee any further 10.7 updates, beyond security updates and major bug patches. No further iCloud functionality is in Lion's future."

  • Movies, TV Shows, Music Videos from iCloud not showing up in Videos app

So I just did a reset on my iPhone because the movie artwork for the movie Love Actually was a picture of Adele's album artwork and it really bothered me. All the other movies in the Videos app was fine, they all matched to their respective titles. So I did a reset hoping that would fix that tiny minor issue but after doing the reset and restoring, None of the movies I've purchased in the past are showing up. All it says is "No Content. You can download videos from the iTunes Store." And I did go into the Videos settings to make sure "Show All Videos" is being set to on (green) but it still did nothing, none of my movies, tv shows, or music videos are showing up in the cloud. This really irritates me because I had one small issue that I was hoping to fix but now a new problem has risen and it's going to bug the **** out of me more than the original problem did. I tried turning it off and turining it back on, signing in and out of iTunes account, and pressing the power button and the home button at the same time, but still nothing from iCloud has appeared, Is anybody else having this issue? FYI, I also have the latest update 7.0.4 but I don't think that should have caused this issue. If anybody knows a solution, please let me know because as you can see, I'm very OCD about this, I like to see all my videos in the Videos app.

This was driving me nuts, but I figured it out. Here's how to fix:
    1) Create (or find) a thumbnail image that represents the series to you (I put text over a screenshot) in Photoshop or whatever you like to use, and put it on the clipboard
    2) In iTunes, select all the episodes from your series in the TV Shows view, right click, and select "Get Info"
    3) On the first tab ("Info") click in the artwork field, then paste in the thumbnail
    4) THIS IS THE KEY STEP - With your iPad plugged into your Mac, go to the TV shows tab and uncheck "Sync TV Shows" and then apply the new settings, and say okay when it tells you all your TV shows will be removed from your iPad
    5) After the sync is complete, check to make sure all your TV shows are gone (in the video app, there shouldn't even be a tab for TV Shows)
    6) In iTunes, check Sync TV Shows again, then apply
Once the sync is complete, your TV Shows will hopefully show up with good thumbnails.
The issue seems to be that once a file has been copied over, updating the thumbnail image in iTunes will NOT force an update on the iPad, and in the TV Shows view there are no captions on the main screen. You have to delete all the files to wipe the DB on the iPad.

  • Old connections not showing on Discoverer Connections page after a REFRESH

    Hello all,
I am having a weird issue with Discoverer connections after a recent refresh of our DEV AS environment from TST.
Before I proceed further, let me give you some details on our environments.
We have recently upgraded our version 9.0.4.1 AS DEV and TST environments to version 10.1.2.3. We also patched our Portal to version 10.1.4.2. Our Infrastructure, Middle Tier, and Metadata Repository Oracle Homes are on one host (AIX 5.3), and our Portal Repository (Customer) database is located on another host (AIX 5.3). Our Repository databases are version 9.2.0.8.
That said, this is my first refresh attempt at version 10.1.2.3. I was able to complete the refresh (after troubleshooting some issues) fine and was able to bring our DEV Portal up and things looked fine. But when I get to the Discoverer Viewer connections page, I don't see any connections listed there.
During the refresh I did an "ssomig -export" and "ssomig -import" successfully and the logs showed no errors. When I look in the ORASSO.WWSSO_PSEX_USER_INFO$ table, I can see the Connections data. But somehow from the Discoverer connections page nothing is visible. If I create a new connection, everything seems to be normal with the way Discoverer works. But I am not able to figure out how to make the old connections show up on the Connections page.
I have tried doing an "ssomig -import" a couple of times with no luck. Can anyone help me out? I am not sure what is going on.
    Thanks.

  • ICloud not showing on Macbook, Macbook not showing on iCloud

Ok, I have a really weird situation. Last week I was locked out of my Macbook that I have owned since 2011, because as the Genius's at the Genius bar told me, it had been reported stolen. Luckily/Thankfully I still had the original receipt of purchase and was able to prove ownership and they unlocked it for me. The Genius's asked me if I had used iCloud and I hadn't. I didn't realize it wasn't merely a storage tool for your iphone or Macbook, that you could have your devices show up in iCloud and track them etc.
Now my question. I have registered my Macbook at https://supportprofile.apple.com and all of my information shows up, showing I own the computer. When I was re-registering the computer and going through the setup process again it asked me to sign into iCloud and I did (the computer had been wiped clean after I was locked out). Now, iCloud doesn't even show up under system preferences, in my toolbar, or anywhere else on the Macbook when I search for it. And when I go to iCloud.com only my iPhone shows up there, not my Macbook, even though it's registered to me now.
I am running the Macbook on Mavericks.
I have done some research and can't seem to figure out what's going on. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Your Mac runs the OS X operating system which is different than the iOS operating system you use on your iOS device. The versions of iWork that you have purchased for your Mac will not  run on your iOS device, you will need to purchase those apps through the App Store for your iOS device.

  • How to retrieve a deleted number- iCloud not showing it?

    Hello Apple users,
About 2 weeks ago I deleted a contact from my phone, along with the test message history associated with this number. Yesterday I realised that I need to get this number back. I logged onto my iCloud account on my computer but it only shows my current contacts; not any that got deleted. Is there a way I can retrieve this number?
    Thanks :)

If you texted or called the # (not by using iMessage though), then the # should be on your itemized phone bill.
If not, unless you have a backup from 2 wks ago when you had the # in your contacts list, then I'm afraid you might be out of luck.   iCloud doesn't keep deleted #'s stored.

  • Sent mail using icloud not showing up on other machines

I sent a message using the mail application on my Macbook Pro with an icloud account. That sent message (at least I thought) would be showing up in my icloud sent messages folders on other computers. It is not. Should it, or will it only show up on the computer it was sent from? There are no error messages saying it did not send btw.
    Gary in Oregon

Are you using IMAP or POP?  Are you storing sent mail on the server?
Only if you're using IMAP and selecting to store sent mail on the server will you see the email on other devices.
My recommendation is to actually scrap using "sent mail" entirely and instead bcc: yourself on every message and file it where you want it.  There are many advantages to doing this.
