Old iCloud user name on phone

I changed my email address over a year ago and changed my iCloud login email address. I think. The problem is this - the iCloud user name on my iphone 5 is different than my computer and ipad. I don't know the login info for the old account. At the very bottom of the screen, I have the Sign Out option. However, I have to have the password to turn off 'Find my Phone'. I have tried all the passwords I can think of that I have used in past. I don't know what the password is and I don't have the email address any more to reset it. I have an iphone 5 (iOS 8.1.1) Help!!!

If your device is signed into an old ID that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

To get it to your new Apple ID, you would need to change it back to your old on so you can turn off Find My Device and turn it off. Once that is done, change it back to what you are currently using now. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

You have to delete the old account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to do one of the following:

You'll need to save the documents first from the incorrect iCloud account, sign out then sign in to the correct iCloud account and upload the documents to that account.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contactAppleCare, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

I recently updated my username and password through apple which was very easy. But it hasnt updated in Icloud and it wont allow me to change my user name unless I use the old password which I cant remember!!!

You need to do the following:
1.     Go to Manage your Apple ID and sign on with your current Apple ID and password. Then, go in and Edit your New Password, and change it back to the old one (this is temporary - do NOT verify it, do NOT change the password: Apple - My Apple ID
2.     Go to Settings>ICloud, scroll to the bottom and click on Delete Account. Type in your current password when asked. Follow the prompts to complete the deletion
3.     Go back to Manage your Apple ID and change the Apple ID back to your New ID (you may need to verify it)
4.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your new ID
You should be all set!

I have a new apply ID which if fine, but my phone is asking me for my old apple ID password before I can delete it from my ICloud. The problem is I cant reset the password and my birthday verification isnt working. I am unable to do anything in icloud because it is forever telling me my password is wrong. my new apple ID seems to be working on every other part of my phone. Any ideas what to do?

Well you can try this, but I'm not sure it's going to work if this is an entirely new ID.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. ICloud "User name or password is incorrect."

iCloud has been working fine. In fact, I backed up on it a couple of days ago on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad2. Now, on both devices, when I tap on iCloud in Settings, I get "User name or password is incorrect." I know they are correct, because I used them to log in here and to update Apps today. It seems that Apple is having problems and is a bit overloaded right now, but I was wondering if the community has found solutions. Anyone?

Ok I had this same problem and I fixed mine so I think I figured it out. What I did is I went into Settings---->iCloud and then deleted my account. Once I did that I went back into settings and created a new account by logging in with my old AppleID (Which was the one I wanted in the first place which is the one I use for store etc...) and then I backed everything up and now everything is in sync and works fine with the RIGHT Apple ID that I wanted and I get no incorrect user name or password incorrect message anymore.... Hope this helps...

Can't delete old iCloud account from new phone

Have trouble deleting old iCloud account from my new phone keep getting a message saying can not delete cause in use

iCloud accounts can be deleted in Mail, Contacts and Calenders in System Preferences from the Apple sign menu on your Host or Main mac.
I had heaps of trouble with this - i fixed it by going back to my host imac and clicked on apple sign - system preferences - then under the Internet and Wireless heading clicked on Mail, Contacts & Calenders. from there you can select iCloud amongst your other stuff in the left window - delete the old one by hitting the (minus) - sign down the bottom after selecting iCloud. Keep your calenders and contacts on your mac when asked.
Once you've deleted the old one and its gone from the window reselect iCloud from the right window of options. Use your new apple ID (current e-mail) to set this one up.
Once you sync all your devices it should all be good.
Took me ages to work this out but minutes to fix once I had.
