Old installation of iDVD

I am trying to upgrade my Dad's old computer to be able to use iDVD 3.0. I have an original iLife 04 DVD install disk but try as I might I cannot find any OSX install system that has the early iDVD. How was iDVD sent to the consumer? I have looked at the 10.2(Jag) and 10.3(Pan)...even went as far as installing them and guess what...all the iApps except iDVD ?

Early computers only came with iDVD installed if they were models that had Superdrives. Combo drive models didn't have iDVD installed.
Does the iLife v4 not have iDVD on it?
You might try a a program like Pacifist which lets you install individual apps off of "Restore" type CDs without having to restore everything. Use that and search your Restore discs to see if iDVD is on them and install them that way. Same with looking at your iLife disc.

  • Installing FF to a new hard disk, how to transfer passwords from the old installation?

I have FF installed to Win2k on a hard disk. I have installed Win7 on a new hard disk and I want to move passwords from the old installation to the new one.
It would be great if I could move all the links I get when I click the http://........ field also.

You can retrieve these from your old Profile. See [[Profiles]] which explains what they contain, and [[Managing Profiles]] for an explanation of how to move your data to the new profile.

  • I just downloaded an old version of iDVD from a disc I purchased from Amazon (iLife '11).  I only downloaded the iDVD portion of it.  Now my recent version of iPhoto will not open and I get the message that iPhoto may be damaged or incomplete

I just downloaded an old version of iDVD from a disc I purchased from Amazon.  I downloaded only the iDVD portion of the disc.  Now when I go to open my new version of iPhoto, I get a message that I cannot open the application because it may be damaged or incomplete.  What can I do to get this resolved?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • Why can't I import old imovies into idvd?

Why can't I import old imovies into idvd?

I have 68 GB free and the movie is a small one. The iDVD file is on my hard drive and in the dock.
Today I found a work around for this problem.  While I cannot open the original movie, I can access the clips in the media folder.  I put the clips together and made a new movie.   And I can import this to iDVD by going to "share" in the menu and selecting iDVD.

  • Find out settings of old installation?

I have a Oracle 9 RDBMS installed and want to install the same components on a new system. How can i find this out from the old installation?
    Thank you!

A good way is to run "opatch lsinventory -detail".
It will show you all the components installed and their versions along with any patches installed, so that you can setup the same on the other machine.

    Hi Vikrant Guptarya,
    1.     For CRM IC Web, use "Contract Management" work center  > use "Move" transaction to perform Move Out and Move In
Upon saving, the Move Out contract will be completed for the previous premise, and Move In contract will be created for the new premise. I want to transfer all previous premise's installation facts to new premise at this point of time .
    2.     For UCES, use "Transfer" radio button >perform Move Out and Move In.
Same, upon saving, the Move Out contract will be completed for the previous premise, and Move In contract will be created for the new premise. I want to transfer all previous premise's installation facts to new premise at this point of time .
Yes i would like implement this in both system.
Appreciate if you could enlighten how can I achieve this.
    Thanks.
    regards,

  • SCCM 2012 Installation Directory Registry Key chaning automatically to Old Installation Path

    Hi Guys,
I have recently recovered SCCM 2012 SP1 CAS Site from Primary Site by reinstalling CAS site and database was replicating with Primary sites properly after CAS recovery. But we noticed that after approx. 2 hours of CAS site recovery database replication stopped.
After long digging into SCCM log files we found that SCCM installation directory was pointing to old CAS Site Installation Directory (Which was before recovery) instead of NEW Installation Directory so we changed SCCM CAS Site Installation Directory manually
to new installation path in below registry key and everything was running fine again on CAS Site.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Identification
But again when we restarted SMS_EXEUTIVE Service, SCCM Installation Directory again changed to old installation patch under above registry location and all is bad again. We are unable to figure out what is causing this and even we formatted our HDD before
    installation CAS Site.
Can anyone please help to get rid of this issue. Our while CAS site is down due to this issue.
    Thanks.

I think that you have to use the same installation directory in a site recovery scenario.

  • How to get Old Themes into iDVD 7.1.2?

I'm running iDVD 7.1.2 on an iMac running Mavericks 10.9.1.  When I open an iDVD project I have access to theme for iDVD 7 and iDVD 6.  When try to select an Old Theme a window opens inviting me to install additional themes by choosing Download Now.
However, when I choose OK to download now the App Store opens to the Update screen and tells me there are no updates available.  What gives?  How are the old themes to be installed?

Did you have all of the themes previously on the iMac?  Look in the Home/LIbrary/Applicatiion Support/iWeb folder or in the HD/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to see if all the themes are there.
Did your Mac or a previous Mac come with install disks and was iDVD preinstalled on it?  If so and you still have the disks you can use those disks  to do a custom install of iDVD's themes,  If you have trouble getting the disks to work you can always use  Pacifist to extract and install just the themes.
Otherwise you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailier like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Connecting on ODBC to an old installation of 7.1 running on DEC Unix 4.0f

We are attempting to connect on ODBC to an existing installation of Oracle 7.1.6.2 running on DEC Unix 4.0f, and are facing a problem.
The TCP/IP adaptor is installed (using CD of Oracle 7.2) and the listener service is running.
We are unable to connect to the server from our client (client is a PC in windows).
The error reported is ORA 12500
    Any input will be helpful
    Tx

The newer technology stacks (e.g. .NET data access) requires higher versions of Oracle, which in turn is not compatible with that old server.
The long gone Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver, was built with Oracle7 in mind (but 7.3), but I can't remember ever seeing it with Sql*net v1. In any case you would need to get your hands on a 7.x Client for Windows, which may not be easy, and then you need to get it to install, which probably means you need an old version of Window.
Even if some combination do exist, you will be far off from supported (or supportable) territory. Why can't you upgrade? Developing a new app for such an old environment seems ver far fetched. Are there no other options available to you?

  • Weblogic Installation gets managed server of old installation

Hi. In my CentOS I had a weblogic 10.3.3.0 with three managed servers, then I unistalled it, delete the folder of installation manually for the files that the uninstaller didn't erase and then I installed again weblogic (jdevstudio11113install.bin) with new managed servers and when I want to start them up it tells me that it doesn't exist that the only ones that exist are the old ones I had in the previous installation. So I assume they are in a hidden file that I had to remove or update with new managed servers, which sounds strange because that should be deleted during uninstall process. Anyway any hint would be highly appreciated. Greetings.

From what I understand about your problem you have a domain - Admin server running on one physical machine and Managed server running on another physical machine, when stopping the Managed server its getting hung at suspending state, which in turn is causing Admin server slow down in response or hang.
Please confirm on this how are you stopping and starting your managed server
make sure that you do not use localhost when creating domains which spread across more than one physical machine.
Make sure that your Adminserver & Managed server have address as hostname's of physical server instead of Localhost
You should be starting / stopping Managed server something like this
              startManagedWeblogic.sh -url t3://AdminserverHostName:PortNo <servername>
              stopManagedWeblogic.sh -url t3://AdminserverHostName:PortNo <servername>
Let me know if you still have the problem.

  • Getting old Installation CDs

    Hi everyone,
first of all sorry because i don't know if this is the right forum for my question but nevertheless here is my problem.
I'm going to import some patches for different languages via SMLT. In this transaction the missing .PAT files are shown. Two of them are
    SAPK-600V4INBPINSTAS     BP-INSTASS 600V4: Add-On Installation
    SAPK-603V1INBPERP05     BP-ERP05 603V1: Add-On Installation
SAPNote 1154649 states that i can find these files on the following DVD
    Best Practices All-in-One 2008-2' (material number 51033575)
When I'm searching the SWDC i can't find the DVD with the material number. I also tried searching with different names etc. but still no luck. Can anyone provide me information how i can get the needed files?
    Thanks in advance
    Marco

    Hi,
You need to raise OSS message to request download link for OLD version (which you can't see in your OSS login)...
Another possibility is you may have not licensed to use that one...(If I am not wrong...)

  • I am looking for an old installer for photoshop CS2

I installed photoshop CS@, but everytime I try to use it I get this error, "An error is detected and activiation cannot continue.  Please restart your computer and reinstall applications."

Old CS2 Activation servers have been taken down by Adobe they provided a new download that registered users can download and install. You need to download that installer if you have a licence for CS2. CS2 is not Free. https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads

  • Can't Install Old Themes (using iDVD '08 on Leopard)

    Hello,
I have a problem opening old projects (created using iDVD 3 or 4, can't remember) in iDVD '08 because I'm not able to install the old themes that are necessary. When I try to download the themes the software update program doesn't seem to find them as an available update. Trying to install them from my Max OS X disc fails with an error message that I need at least iDVD version 7.0.
    Any ideas?

iDVD will be on the system install disk. Use Pacifist to locate, extract and install iDVD from it. Move your current iDVD to another location or rename it so you can go back to it after the themes are installed. You might even be able to locate the themes package with Pacifist and just extract and install them. I'd look at that first.
