Old Ipod remote compatible with 5G ipod?

I received a Navipod remote originally released with the 3G Ipod with dock connector, is it still compatible with the 5G video ipod?
Thanks!

No, it won't work with the new iPod because it plugs into the audio port as well as the iPod remote port on top, next to the earphone jack.
but it was just built for those with the dock connector which the 5G has
This was simply used to identify an iPod from the earlier iPods without the dock connector, before the Nano and 4G came out.

  • IDE Drive too old to be compatible with MDD (FW800)?

I'm trying to get some data off an old IDE drive (1.2 Gig Connor that is in my Performa 6300CD). The drive is formatted as an HFS + drive.
I am connecting the drive to my FW800 via an IDE to USB adapter that I have used successfully many times with other IDE drives to this computer.
The drive mounts, and one time seemed OK long enough that I could view its' contents in finder. After selecting 1 file, and trying to select another for copying Finder froze.
I couldn't get Finder to relaunch, and couldn't get the machine to shutdown, resorting to holding the power switch in long enough for it to power down.
FW800 booted back up fine, subject drive mounted again fine. Double-clicked on its' desktop icon and Finder froze again. Had to resort to the power switch again. I'm not looking to test my luck further, trying to understand what might be happening.
Could the disk or the interface just be too slow for this machine? Is a 1995 vintage IDE drive compatible with modern ATA-100 / ATA-133 adapters? What information I've been able to find suggests that it should be. From specs I was able to find it is a 3600 RPM drive capable of up to 16.7 MB/sec transfer speeds. (Old Drive Specs)
Worst case I'll just put it back in the 6300 and copy what I want via Appleshare, it will just be a lot slower. That old computer booted fine last time I had it set up.
    Any insight would be appreciated.

I also have a G3 B&W (350 MHz, 10.3.9) available to try this drive in. Initially it was preventing the B&W from booting at all when installed internally (either IDE connector of the ribbon cable).
I looked again at the Spec page, and this drive has something called a Single Drive jumper setting as well as the more common Master or Slave settings. The drive was set to Single Drive. I changed the jumper to a Slave Drive setting.
After that the B&W booted up, I was able to share it, and successfully copy the contents off the drive.
At this point I'm pretty sure it was the jumper settings that were giving me problems. I'm going to do a quick test with the IDE to USB adapter with this current jumper setting to see if it allows access via the USB adapter.
Thanks for your input, I have accomplished what I set out to do.

  • Where can I find the old Facebook application compatible with iOS 4.2.1 for my Apple 3G phone?

    Hi,
I have purchased the phone back in 2009. I have also purchaed the free Facebook app and it was working fine. 2 days ago all apps stoped working (facebook, messager,....)  I reset the phone back to default. Now I have all applications I previously purchased back with the exception of facebook. For some reason, I doesnt want to install and insists on asking for iOS 4.3! how can I get hold of the older version that was working on my phone?
    Thanks

If you had a 2G you would not be getting that as 4.2.1 is the farthest it would go and then iTunes would report it's up to date.
What capacity and how long have you had?

The file types appear to be arc files. i have tried numerous programs to try and open the files on my PC but all failed. If anyone could help me i'd be most appriciative.

I upgraded/bought to Leopard the day before Snow Leopard can out, never looked back. I was dumb to wait so long to upgrade. Leopard beats Tiger hands down. Be a happy camper and get Leopard. You can call Appel and order a copy. (It's not sold in the story.) if they are out, I doubt it. Try Amazon.com... Don't buy from eBay!
Sooner or later the Apple store might get tired activating iPads... They could... And if for some reason the iPad gets screwed up. Are you going to run down to the Apple store each and every time to have it restored. And if so you will lose all your stuff.
Besides that if you only activate the iPad you will only have 10% of the iPads capabilities. And if you need Tiger for some reason. Buy a second hard drive and boot Leopard from that drive.

  • Old Express not compatible with 8.0 i-tunes?

I've had my Express for years with no issues, but when I downloaded the updated i-tunes software a few weeks ago I now have problems with it cutting out intermittently -- is anyone aware of incompatibility issues between older Express models and the new i-tunes software?

Sorry, you are stuck with whatever version of Slipstream that your ISP has available. They should know which versions of Firefox are supported by their accelerator plugin, because your ISP is more than likely paying Slipstream for every update that is necessary. <br />
Have you asked your ISP which versions of Firefox are supported by their accelerator plugin?
Beyond that, the only thing that I can suggest is to see if the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Addon Compatibility Reporter] extension forces that accelerator plugin work in Firefox 8, with the compatibility override. But, if that plugin hasn't been updated for a Firefox 4+ version at all, I doubt if it will work even with the ACR addon.

  • Can Mac OS 8.6 be made compatible with Windows?

I have one of the first iMacs (8/98) that was originally OS 8.0. It's been upgraded to 8.6 with 64mgs RAM.
I'm starting my own business and need to be able to access MS Window-built sites that have "Audio" icons that, currently, don't work for me. I installed Windows Media Player 7, and sometimes it actually works.
Any suggestions on how to make my old computer more compatible with Window's applications?

In this case, your problem is not Mac and Windows compatibility. It's the old technology (your Mac OS 8.6 software) that won't play the media created by the newer technology (whatever you're finding on your website).
Keep in mind that computers are not appliances. A toaster, for example, has a specific function and will always do that function until its hardware falls apart (my parents had one for 15 years). But a computer's functions can be altered over the years by upgrading and updating the operating system and application software.
In your case, you have old hardware too. You can do a few of things.
    1. Your hardware will easily support upgrading your operating system to Mac OS 9. This OS is old too and no longer made, but you can find it second-hand online (Amazon.com) for about $35-$40. Then you can download the latest versions of Windows Media Player and Real Player for Mac OS 9.
    2. You can buy a new (brand new or a couple of years old) Mac laptop, which will be compatible with just about everything you'd like. It will also be compatible with future software updates and upgrades for a few years to come.
    3. You can buy a new (brand new or a couple of years old) Windows computer to ensure 100% compatibility with other Windows computers.
The bottom line is that you just need something newer. I suggest looking into the Mac OS 9 upgrade first. It's the cheapest potential fix for you. But it's not a guarantee.
    Hope this helps! bill

  • Old Composite Video cable (Tangerine iBook) not compatible with Video iPod

    I discovered a little surprise.
Despite being exactly identical on both ends of the cable, an old Apple Composite Video cable, originally purchased for a Tangerine iBook, is not compatible with Video iPod.
Anybody confirms such situation, or is it just my Video iPod with a faulty video output?

  • What apps are compatible with on old iPod touch?

What apps are compatible with on old iPod touch? Running iOS 4

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

iPod 4,1 will not update to iOS 7. I updated my iMac to 10.9.1 (maverick). Latest Numbers version on iMac is not compatible with Numbers on iPod. Ideas? Can I go back a version with Numbers? I downloaded old version of Numbers 2.0.1 from DVD but with both versions the 2.0.1 will not open.  So both versions are present but only the new version functions. I tried to drag the new version to the trash but the old version still runs error message and will not open. I did not try to restart with the new version in the trash.

    Maybe. See:

  • IPod Nano (2nd generation) not fully compatible with BOSE SoundDock

I can't get the remote control for my BOSE SoundDock to function with my newly purchased 2 GB iPod Nano (2nd generation).
The BOSE manual states that the remote control will not function properly if the iPod doesn't have the proper (or later) version of Apple software installed.
The "correct" software that BOSE identifies for the iPod mini (Nano) is version 1.2 or later.
This, however, appears only applicable to iPod 1st generation Nanos.
My brand new ipod Nano has version 1.1.2 software and iTunes has confirmed this to be the most current software for this 2nd generation unit.
Is this a common problem? It's hard to believe the BOSE unit does not cover 2nd generation iPod Nano software.
Other than the non-funtioning remote control, the BOSE unit works fine and with the BOSE-supplied black adpater for the Nano.

Actually, the BOSE SoundDock is compatible with the iPod Nano.
After troubleshooting with the BOSE staff, and some excellent customer service, the problem was narrowed down to the remote control device.
BOSE sent out a new remote control and the unit works fine with my iPod Nano.
Appreciate all who offerred assist in this matter.
