Any suggestions?  It's about 10 years old.

Can you provide more detail than just "doesn't work"? What happens when you attempt to redeem the card?

I used to have an iTunes gift card on file with my old account.  it had under a dollar on it but i dont think thats relevant of makes a diffirence. i was wondering if there was a way to redeem my old gift cards # so i can use my phone again and update apps! PLEASE HELP!  thanx soo much!

Howdy! I have tried to change my Email address with Apple. Since I cannot access my old Email address, they will not let me change my password. Since I cannot recall my old password, they will not allow me to change my Email address. I am in a true Catch 22.

  • HT201209 I recently changed my email address, and my old one is listed on my itunes acct. I redeemed an Itunes gift card, but it went to my old acct. How do I transfer mt gift card to the new acct.?  I tried, but it said it has already been redeemed

Okay... I redeemed my itunes gift card, under my old ID. I had since updated my new email address, but didnt realize i redeemed it under the old ID. I tried to redeem it under my new ID, but i couldnt. Is there a way to switch  my gift card amount to my current ID??

No, it's not currently possible to transfer a redeemed card to a different account, and you also won't be able to use it to gift content to the newer account (you can only gift via a credit card) - so the amount will remain linked to that old account

  • HT1937 I have an iTunes gift card but can't use it. I can't remember my security questions and it keeps sending an email to an old email account which I don't use any more. How do I fix this?

I am wanting to use my iTunes gift card but it says that I have to verify my account. I thought I had already done this. It says I have to answer two security questions but I can't remember the answers to the questions. When I go to change the answers to something I will remember It keeps sending the email to an old email account. How do I change this. It is very annoying

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

  • ITunes Gift Card (old?)

Hi there, my mum found an old (not sure how old!) iTunes gift card in the drawer and I've tried redeeming it online but it's not recognised. The only things present on the card (there is no scratch panel) are a long number right underneath the barcode in the bottom righthand corner and another code beginning with "D" in the top righthand corner. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

If there is an amount printed on the card, the redemption code normally would be under a scratchoff at the top of the card, per these instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6021
I've never seen a code appear at the top-right, though I can't say none were ever issued that way.
If the code isn't being recognized, make sure that you're entering in the correct characters. It can be easy to mistake a zero for the letter "o" or other such mistakes. If the error says that the card has already been redeemed, then, well, it must have been scratched off and redeemed sometime in the past.
If you continue to have problems, contact iTunes Support.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • How do you use an iTunes gift card without creating an account?

Just gave an iTunes gift card to my parents, as they do not use their credit cards on the internet at all. But I've run into a problem... I can't seem to figure out how to purchase music with the gift card. Every time I try to purchase something it asks me to create a new account, and register a credit card to that account.
I could have sworn there was a way to purchase music with a gift card, and no credit card at all. Is there something I am missing here?

I've had a similar problem except at the other end of the age spectrum. I gave an iTunes card to my 11 year old daughter but she does not have a credit card or an Apple ID. We tried to create an account for her but when we get to the credit card screen there is no "None" option to select andI hesitate to put my card number onto her account and .
Am I on the wrong screen or is there a different path to follow to get to the same result?

Did you redeem the gift card first? You have to have something to set up an account gift card or credit card.

  • Itunes gift card...how do i use it?

hello,...my nine year old daughter is all excited about her new green ipod nano and we went to the grocery store to get her a twenty dollar gift card....the thing is ....how do we use it?
....(i do not want her to use my credit card whenever she wants,... nor does she want to use my itunes account...she wants HER OWN)...
    ...she is very independent....
...does she have to have an account with a cc or can we set up her account without a cc?....she will want to go out on occasion to buy a itunes gift card whenever she saves enuf $......please help us....

Actually, I just finished doing this for my daughter.
    Go to the iTunes store.
Click on your account at the top right, then click Sign Out. This will get you out of your account and allow you to create a new account with the gift card.
Click on Redeem on the right side of iTunes.
Input the gift card number and it'll ask you to sign in.
    Click on Create new account.
At the billing/address info, click on None for the credit card.
It should go thru and finish and show the account name and amount in it from the gift card at the top of iTunes.
    To make it a little easier for her to make sure she doesn't get the wrong songs, do this;
    Create a new playlist.
Have her look thru the store and find what she wants. Double click the songs to hear 30 seconds of it to make sure it is the correct song.
Instead of immediatley clicking Buy, drag the song to the new playlist.
After she she has selected the songs she wants, let her look & listen thru the playlist to make sure those are the songs she wants (and that you agree with), you can click Buy on the songs.
If she ends up with a few cents left on the account (she will), you can enter your CC number in her account, purchase one song or so to use the remainder of the card and the diference will go on your card. It'll only be a few cents or so.
Download the song, then go back into her account and edit the CC info and select None.it will not remember your CC info and she won't be able to purchase songs unless she gets another Gift card or again enters a valid CC.

  • How Do I Use An iTunes Gift Card?

I was given an iTunes gift card for Christmas.  It says: "Open iTunes and click on iTunes Store.  Click Redeem."  I am then instructed to scratch off the label and enter the gift code number.  I am then to download my content "and enjoy."
I would like to "enjoy."  The only problem is, when I open iTunes and click on iTunes Store, there isn't any "Redeem" opton available anywhere.  I'm not going to list everthing that appears on the drop-down menu under iTunes Store, but "Redeem" isn't one of them, and I can't find "Redeem" anywhere else on the home page for the Store.
So how do I use an iTunes gift card?

Problem solved.  It seems I did not have the most recent version of iTunes.  Once I updated to the current version, the "Redeem" link appeared.  I'm not going to tell you how old my existing version was.  Let's just say I was a tad out of date.
Thanks so much for your response.  Now I can "enjoy."
I went in, clicked on Redeem, plugged in the gift card number and, voila! - my account has been credited with the amount of the card.  I am good to go.

  • Can I transfer a itunes gift card from one computer to another?

My son has a itunes account set up on one computer, but now that computer has issues. We managed to set up another account for him on our main computer, but he wants to transfer the itunes gift card money from the messed up computer to our main one that his new account is set up on.  Can this be done? And how can we do it?
    Thanks

The iTunes gift card money can't be transferred between iTunes Store accounts. Log into the old iTunes Store account and stop using the new one.

  • App/itunes gift card from another country

    Hi
For Christmas I was given an app/itunes gift card by a friend, the card was purchased in italy. Now I have just tried to enter the code and guess what? it tells me i cannot redeem it cos my store is Uk not Italy. If i try to change it to Italy it tells me I have to register with an italian bank account and address. How is this possible that i cant use an apple card on the apple store??? is there anyway to change this??? i have to say this is truly ridiculous...
    any suggestions are welcome...

OK you have 2 options lets say for example you live in the UK and the iTunes card is from the USA.
option 1) go to eBay and sell the card to someone in the USA.
option 2) use the itunes card.
if option 2 you will need to use the following steps
    1) Move to the USA <------- This is just so you are following Apples rules ;-)
    2) you will need a USA iTunes account, now that you live there so make a new Apple ID. To do this go to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId?loca lang=en_US and the 1st thing you are going to want to do is go to the bottom of the page and make sure that next to "Choose Your Country or Regin" you have the US flag (or what ever flag matches the place you just moved to to use the card) if it doesnt then click on it and change it. Put in all info to setup the account, (if for some reason you cant remember the address of the place you just moved into then use google maps). if you dont get an option to make an iCloud email address then you can make a Gmail account and use that as your new Apple ID.
    3) you have now moved and made a new iTunes account you can now use your gift card. You will have access to the content in your new country and it will be at their prices.
    4) if you want content from both accounts, I assume you already have content purchased from your old account then login to your iTunes/iPhone/iPad with 1 account and download what you own then logout and login with your second account.
enjoy and good luck getting your green card, hopefully the place the iTunes card came form is nice ;-)

  • How To Determine the "Identity" of an iTunes Gift Card Redeemer

Good morning!  I need to know if it is possible to determine which Apple ID was used to redeem an iTunes gift card.  Here is the situation...
My 9 year old daughter received a $15 iTunes gift card for her birthday.  After opening presents, my daughter and her "friend" went off to play with my daughter's new ipod.  A while later, she came back to me with her Touch saying she needed help.  Ultimately, the problem was that she was receiving this message:
"The Gift Certificate or Pre-Paid Code you entered has already been redeemed."
This was a brand new card that had not yet been scratched.  We think her friend grabbed the card and redeemed it using her Apple ID.  Of course, there was a shaky denial given when confronted on it, but before I go to this child's parents, I need to have proof.
So, is there a way to determine which Apple ID was used to redeem an iTunes gift card?
    Thanks!
    Keith

    No.
    Sorry

  • I recently added a itunes gift card to my account and now it wants me to reenter my credit card info and when i do it says credit card declined?

I recently added a itunes gift card to my account and now it wants me to reenter my credit card info and when i do it says credit card declined?

I think I had a similar problem the other day. I purchased an app with a cc that had been canceled by my bank with out me knowing it had been. Once I realized the cc was no longet active I added an itunes giftcard thinking that would allow me to purchase items. Well everytime I tried to ourchase somrthing with the new gift card it kept telling me that I had no funds. So someone in the apple store told me that until the app purchase with the old expired cc cleared on that cc then i would not be able to use any other form of payment. So I had to call my bank and asked them to reactivate my old cc for a couple seconds while I repurchased the app with my bank on the phone. Once that purchae cleared then it allowed me to use apple gift cards. Sorry for long answer but I think this might help you.

  • I dont have a credit card and i just putted an itunes gift card ,i have 10$ now but i cant use it without credit card

i dont have a credit card and i just putted an itunes gift card ,i have 10$ now but i cant use it without credit card HELP !

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

  • Not able to sign up for iTunes Match with iTunes Gift Card

Last night I purchased $30.00 worth of iTunes Gift cards , redeemed the cards against my iTunes account and attempted to sign up for the iTunes Match ($24.99 per year) only to find out that I must provide a credit card on file before they will allow me to sign up.  I never imaged that Apple would require a credit card on file. One of the reasons that I chose Apple products was the ability to purchase with iTunes Gift cards to reduce my risk of fraud when the account become compromised .
Also I have Apple IDs for each of my children and they receive  iTunes Gift cards as presents that they purchase Apps, Music etc that they want.  That way when they grow up and leave home they have their own Apple accounts to take with them.  Apple should want life long Apple customers!!   Just to let you know 14 year olds don’t normally have credit cards and I would never put my Credit Card info attached to their account. So if they own a Laptop, iPhone and iPad they are discriminated from using your iTunes Match because they don’t have a credit card?  Really????
Apple to just let you know that I have a Microsoft XBOX Live membership that I purchase a Live gift card once a year to renew my subscription.  I can’t believe that Microsoft can figure out how to provide customers a better user experience that Apple.
Please fix this quickly as I would like to use your iTunes Match and other iCloud services that you plan on releasing later this year however I will not be using my credit card so I may have to look for other device options.   If you need any help figuring out how to meet your business requirements please let me know as I would be glad to provide suggestions.
    Thank you,
    The Next Steve Jobs
PS  If any one over there knows a way around this please let me know.

I've been through the same ordeal. I wanted to renew my iTunes Match service, had over $100 credit in the iTunes Store, but wasn't able to use that credit to pay for the renewal. Apple requires you have a valid, working credit card on file to renew for some reason. But once you put in a credit card, the charge is actually taken from your store credit, not the credit card. So, it's very odd and doesn't make any sense to me, either. But there's no way around it without a credit card, that's what Apple Support told me when I contacted them about this same issue.
