Old iWeb Domain Document, New Account New Computer

I've done this before but that was pre-Mavericks.
I got a new computer, recovered my old data from a Time Machine backup which created a new user account on the new computer.  I installd iWeb and could upgrade to version 3.0.4.  Maybe not the newest but it's what was available.
I wanted to get to my webpages in the new account so I went to get the Domain File and transfer it to the new account.  I did this before when a separate computer needed to updata a different website I had made for him.
Anyway, there is no longer an iWeb folder in Application Support in my Library.
Where is the file I need to move, and to where do I move it so I can open iWeb in my new account and update my webpages?
Thanks

Here's a similar question by you, two years ago.

When you open iWeb for the first time it creates a folder and a domain file.
Before you do that, you can also create the folder yourself and put the domain file in it. The one you either copied from another machine or recovered from Time Machine.
In the latter case, Time Machine most likely creates the folder too.

Publishing your site to a folder is useless for your purposes. You need to transfer the Domain file which created the site to your new machine.

  • I have an iPod that has music from CD's that I no longer have. The iPod was synced to an old computer that crashed. My current iPhone and my old iPod share an itune's account. Is there a way I can transfer my music from my old iPod to my new computer?

I have an old iPod touch with songs from CD's I no longer have (so they weren't purchased on iTunes). The computer that the songs were synced on crashed a while ago. Is there a way I can sync my old iPod to my new computer and retrieve those songs to get them on my new iPhone? They share an Apple ID and iTuens account.

    Most Windows users don't.
Purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software that comes with it to backup files from your computer.
Buy TouchCopy and install it on your new computer, connect your old iPod and transfer your songs to your computer.

  • IWeb and a new computer

I have a new macbookpro, and want to access my old (from previous mac laptop) IWeb website and make changes to it, but when I open IWeb on the new computer, it prompts me to start all over again. Can I get in to my old iWeb and be able to edit it?

    Similar but different issue.....
The hard drive on this laptop, my MacBook Pro, crashed and was replace. Much of the personal data was lost. Leopard was also installed.
I have several .Mac accounts. And have sevral websites that have been created. The sites that were constructed using .Mac Homepage I can still access and edit. HOW DO I ACCESS AND EDIT THOSE SITES CREATED WITH iWeb?
Aside from the disappointment and inconveneince of having my hard drive crash and losing personal data, the service experience has been horrible. My first call to Apple care led me to the .Mac support. After no response in the prescribed "48 hours", I arrived at the Apple Store in Phoenix armed with my ProCare card. NOTHING! No one could help and I was directed back to either Apple Care or the .Mac suppofrt web pag....Apple ****.

Thanx for the help, if it ever comes....

You need to copy over the Domain.sites2 file whose location is shown here...

See this page for using iWeb with Lion or Mountain Lion...

  • Moving iWeb to a new computer

i have just taken delivery of my new macbook pro and I want to move the maintenance of my iWeb generated web site on to the new computer - how do I do it?

    Hi Brian
The first thing to do is launch and then quit iWeb on the new MBP, this creates a couple of folders and files.
Next, on the PB, navigate to User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
You are now going to copy this file to the same location on the MBP, there will already be one there (you creates it above). As long as you haven't done any work in iWeb on the MBP then you can simply Trash the existing domain file and replace it with the one from the PB.
Now launch iWeb and you should see you old site on your new computer.
Some might suggest moving the preference file as well:
    User/Library/Preference/com.apple.iWeb.plist
I would just go with the domain file first and see how you do.
Of course, if you are copying the whole of your old Home folder across then it should be there.
Having done this, I would suggest doing a Publish All, I am not sure if any changes happen to blog naming etc when moving from PPC to Intel. Someone else felt that it might have for them.

My laptop was stolen. How do I sync my old iphone to a new computer without losing my purchases (music & apps)?

One of the reasons to include your iTunes library with your computer's backup along with all other important data that is kept separate from your laptop - not carried in the same case, etc.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iDevice, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If you are in the US, you can do this now as well.

  • HT1329 How can I move my music on my old iPod to my new computer, when I no longer have access to the old computer.

How can I transfer the contents of my old iPod to my new computer. The old computer is no longer functioning .

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer ther music by:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
Note t transfer iTunes purchases you have to know the account ID and password for the account that purchased them.  Also, if you did not purchase the music, you are not entitled to use the music.

  • How do i open my old itunes on my new computer?

how do i open my old itunes on my new computer? do i have uninstall itunes on my old computer first? my old computer cannot access internet anymore.  i have an ipod that i can use to import but it won't open on the new computer since the dialog box reads that an ipod can only sync to one library at a time. can i open my library on my new computer? if so, how do i do that?

Your library will only be where you put it.  it resides on your computer.
Use your backup copy of you computer to put everything back.

  • I have my my original itunes on my old computer that doesnt accept CD's anymore. My new computer has some of the old songs and some new songs. How do I get all my old content on the new computer and still keep the new content?

I have my my original itunes on my old computer that doesnt accept CD's anymore and My new computer has some of the old songs and some new songs. How do I get all my old content on the new computer and still keep the new content? I also have a few different ipods and I want to have all the songs on all of them but it wont let me. I have read millions of the help articles and still cant figure it out. When I plug one ipod in it says it is going to delete all the old info to sync and cant just add the songs? Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • I have a new computer. i signed into itunes but my music isn't there.  How do i get all my music off my old iphone to the new computer

I have a new computer. i signed into itunes but my music isn't there.  How do i get all my music off my old iphone to the new computer so i can put all the music on my new one.
The guy at att told me that icloud would sync everything i had in my notes, calendar, and text messages to my new phone, but it only synced some of my notes, none of my messages, or calendar info.

Your music will only be where you put it.  It will not magically appear on a new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.
If for some reason you cannot do this, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an iphone:  Without syncing - File>Transfer Purchases
You can also redownload itunes purchases from icloud in some countires:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

How do I load old Photoshop CS onto new computer without updating?

Adobe closed down the CS2 (and earlier versions) activation server a couple of years ago.
Download a new non-activation copy of CS2 from Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Install then enter the new serial number given at that link. Your existing serial number will no longer work.
