Old meeting requests automatically resent

We are currently in co-existence between Exchange Server 2007 RU13 and Exchange Server 2013 CU5
A few hundred users have migrated ok so far but for some a few days/weeks later some old meeting requests are resent
eg a meeting from 10-Jun-2013 was resent on 11-Nov-2014 from someones calendar
The only recent change made (post the mailbox being migrated) was a 7 year retention policy being applied to their mailbox
However, this should have no effect as the appointments are well within that period
could this be related? has anyone seen this before? there is no information in the eventlogs
thanks

Hi shapi,
Since your new question is not directly related to the original issue, it would be better if you open up a new thread for the
new question. This will make answer searching in the forum easier and be beneficial to other community
members as well. Thanks for your understanding.

  • ICloud sends out hundreds of old meeting request responses

After I signed up to iCloud, it proceeded to send out hundreds of very old meeting request responses. Some 18 months old.
How do I stop this and find out why it is happening?

The same thing happened to me. It has the potential to be embarassing as it sends emails to clients forold meetings.  The emails are also being sent from my apple account emailrather than my work email. Very annoying.
I have no idea why this is occurringand can only think that it must be a glitch with iCloud?
The other strange thing is that I had already disabled calendar syncing on the day I began using IOS 5, after the initial sync.

turn on icloud with my ipad, it spams my network with old meeting requests (2009). what gives?

This happened to me (twice) when iCloud first came out -- and I have steered clear of iCloud ever since.  But I just recently upgraded to Mavericks, and they took local sync away!!  Anyone still having this issue with iCloud??  I will not send accepted messages for old meetings three times!

  • Meeting requests not making it from Mail to iCal

I haven't been able to have meeting requests automatically transfer over to iCal.
I have my Mail settings set to automatically send meeting invites to iCal, and most invitations come from people that are present in my address book.
I've been on hold with Apple Care for over an hour, and haven't had any luck other than being asked to check the settings above.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Exch2010 Room Mailboxes - disable unautherized users to create Meeting Request

    Hi all,
This one is giving me a headache. I have created some Room Mailboxes which I all want to act the same, which is as followed:
    - Everyone (we have mailgroup with all users) has review rights
    - Certain users have editor rights
    - Resource Booking Attendant is disabled
Basically I want to configure these in a similar way as the old fashioned Public Folders.
I've tried a lot of settings / methods, currently I did as followed:
    - Within Exchange 2010 EMC I created a Room Mailbox
    - I gave myself Full Access rights
    - Mailbox is automatically added to my Outlook 2013
    - I right-click the calendar and go to properties. I set Default and Anonymous to no rights. I add a mailgroup with all our users and set that to review (so no creation of items / folders)
I would now expect that no users except for myself / administrator are allowed to make an appointment: WRONG. But a strange wrong this is:
    - If I use Outlook 2003, I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Outlook 2013, I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Exchange webmail (OWA), I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Outlook for Mac, I am unable to create an appointment
    - If I use Outlook 2010, I can suddenly simply create a Meeting Request. This then sends a mail to the Room Mailbox and adds an appointment as tentative
All of the above is done with the same useraccount.
So what's up with this? I simply want to disable this tentative stuff altogether. I only want people with editor rights to create and change meetings, all the other folks should simply be reviewers unable to create anything whatsoever. Hopefully anyone here
has the solution for me, thanks a lot for your time / help.
    All the best, Jim.

    Thanks for your reply.
Here is the output when checking the permissions (see below).
I replaced the usernames by something anonymous.
    So basically it comes to:
    Default has no rights.
    Anonymous has no rights.
Two mailgroups which contain all employees have review rights.
    Five users have editor rights.
Still 'regular users' (which should only have review rights) can still doubleclick this calendar (only works in Office 2010) and create a new Meeting Request.
    How come this is possible?

  • How to send meeting request by mail adapter

    Hi,
I'm doing scenario from file to mail. I have a sender file adapter to pick up the meeting request standard format file(*.ics) from file system. On the other side I have a receiver mail adapter to send mail. What I want to do is the sent mail by mail adapter should be a meeting request instead of a normal email with meeting request as its attachment.
I use localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean as first module in mail adapter, but the sent mail is also a normal with meeting request as its attachment. This is not what I expected.
I also created own module for mail adapter to realize it. Do I need to change the format of meeting reqeust information in payload? Actually I have chance to do it in module. But what should I do? Thanks.

  • Ical meeting requests and outlook

    Hi All,
I need your help. we have a mixed network of PC (XPP) and 30 newly deployed Mac's (OSX10.5).
iCal to iCal meeting requests are fine.
iCal to Entourage meeting requests are fine
iCal to Outlook meeting requests don't work.
As we are wanting to move Mac users away fro Entourage we are motivated to resolve this issue.
when an iCal meeting request is sent to an Outlook recipient, they receieve an email with 2 empty attachments, and a note that states that to accept this meeting, they must click on the link below; although, there is NO link for the user to click on.
Outlook and Entourage are working thru Exchange Server 2003. iCal is (presently) working off local installs. iCal Server is due for operation in a few weeks.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

There are several discussions regarding this same topic on the Apple forums and elsewhere. None of them have solved the problem. This seems to be an issue that has been around for a long time but never addressed by Apple or Microsoft. From some simple tests that I have done, it appears the the Microsoft Exchange Server is not interpreting the iCal event (.ics extension) properly. I have seen discussions saying that Apple is not formatting the event properly or is using a newer standard that MS Exchange does not support. I believe it is the later as I can make the event work properly without any software changes but I have to do some steps manually. Here is how I can make it work and why I believe something is wrong in MS Exchange:
    - create event in iCal and add an Outlook user
    - send the event/email (ignore this email on the PC as it does not work)
    - open the just sent email and save the attached iCal event
    - find the saved iCal event and add a letter to the extension such as ".icss"
    - (Note: I don't know if there is a way to rename an attachment already in a message)
    - attach this renamed event to a new message and send it to the Outlook user
    - the Outlook user must open the message, save the attachment and rename it back to ".ics"
    - double clicking / opening this renamed file now works perfectly in Outlook
Now, if I could only automate some of these steps on the Mac before I send the message would be very helpful. This is not a great solution but I use it for events that I want to sync between my home Mac and my office PC.
Because the renamed attachment (.icss) works through Exchange (by ignoring it), I am lead to believe that MS Exchange will interpret an ".ics" extension and mess up the handling of it for some reason. Microsoft is never one to follow standards very carefully or adopt them very quickly. Our company is using Exchange 2003 so maybe that is part of the problem as it is an older version.

  • Cannot view the detailed Email date and time about the meeting request

Hi,I am unable to view the detailed message and Date and time of a meeting request in the default Email app in my Sony Xperia P mobile. Even when i select the calender it does not defaultly go to the meeting date. I need to manually select the date to see the meeting. I cannot see the meeting details without accepting it.I have seen the better behaviors on HTC One V and Galaxy Nexus where full meeting details including message, Date, time, venue appears in the meeting request message. Is there any setting which needs to be changes or is it the limitation of the phone app.Regards,Pratik Ranjan

Hi Johan,Im also seeing this on my xperia s, ICS.  Here's some additional info i have after some testing:Work have Exchange 2010, I have sent calendar invites from outlook 2007 and 2010 clients and it works for the 2007 clients as it automatically adds the meeting details into the body of the request, something it doesn’t do in 2010, so it may be the way the calendar form has changed in 2010.   It also works fine when i get an invite from an external person. This however is just adding the text into the body, I too have tested with the HTC One S and Samsung Galxay S3, bith use the stock email and both display the time as part ofthe invite no tin the body of the invite,
In doing the testing I have also found another issue. I have found that it doesn’t inform you of a calendar conflict.ThanksMike

  • Office365 User not receiving Meeting Request Email (but shows in Calendar)

    Hi,
We have one user (so far) who has successfully migrated from Exchange 2007 to 'Office365' but when you sent them an meeting request they do not get ANY email notification of it. No Spam, rules, junk email are affecting it. There are no delegates on the account.
I have removed the Office365 user license for them and then re-added it but made no difference.
If the user goes into the calendar they can actually 'see' the meeting and accept / decline it in there but we obviously need the user to get some email notification of it so they are aware of a meeting and now get a 'surprise' meeting they knew nothing about!
Other migrated users are able to receive email notifications of meeting requests without issue. There is just no trace of it for this user.

    Hi Peter,
As per your description above, I understand that one user cannot receive meeting requests, instead, the meetings are placed on their calendar directly.
I would like to confirm that whether he/she configured the email account into any Outlook clients, or actually we are talking about the web-based Outlook in Office 365 portal?
If this is an issue in the Outlook desktop client, please check if you have ticked the option of
Automatically accept meeting requests and remove canceled meetings
under FILE>Options>Calendar>Auto Accept/Decline... Try untick it and verify again.
If Outlook client is not involved here, I would suggest you post your question in the forum of Office 365 Community - email and calendar, where you can get more experienced responses:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158.aspx

  • Cannot accept Meeting Request updates on iPhone

    Hi,
When I am working at a client's account, I am sending or forwarding important meeting requests to my private mail.
Then, when I open that mail account on my iPhone, and open the meeting request mail, I can scroll to the bottom and see a 'mime-attachment.ics'.
When I click on this, I see the Event Details. And the bottom of my screen reads 'Add To Calendar'.
    This works well.
When I update the meeting request at my client's account, I'll get a new mail from there in my private mail.
But when I open it on my iPhone and scroll to the 'mime-attachment.ics' and click on that, I will see the Event Details, but only Delete Event shows at the bottom.
When I click on that, the meeting is gone from my calendar.
    I expected an 'Update Event'.
    Help!

    I accidently solved this problem.
When you put an invitation for a meeting in your mailbox on your iPhone, you can click on the attachment to view that meeting and ADD it to your (iPhone) calendar.
But when the meeting is updated (e.g. to another date), you get another mail with attachment on your iPhone, but when you click on the attachment you will view the (old) meeting and can only choose to DELETE that (not update).
But... and here it comes... Once you get back in the mail again, after you've deleted the old meeting, and click again on the meeting attachment, you will view the updated meeting and can choose ADD to your calendar.
That's it. Problem solved (in two steps).

    Hi,
It's really weird that your old boss should have been unable to send the meeting requests. To diagnose the problem, would you please paste the Internet headers here?
Open the request -> FILE -> Properties -> Internet headers.

  • Can't the old threads closed automatically?

    Hi,
I am just thinking why can't the old threads closed automatically?
There are lot of old threads which might got resolved OR might not have proper responses, appearing in every forum.
If we have a functionality which close the thread with a tag "Expired" after 5 days (from the query raised date), that can help all of the volunteers.
I do not see any benefit in keeping those threads active!
    Regards,
    Nick Loy

If you work in a bigger company, then 5 days are almost nothing.
SAP has such a nice CHarm process to make the environment secure, that means you cant even start developing something without having an approved change request. Not to talk about testing.
Of course there are discussions which can be be closed immediately, others need weeks, some months.  I still get some helpful and correct answer points from answers I had given years ago.
Without the "automatic" closure, you actually have evidence if the user takes care about his stuff or not, the auto closure makes this unresponsive user just look equal to someone who cares. Even more bad.  There is no real filter function in SCN to search only for answered questions, and you would miss a lot answered discussions which are not techncially marked answered.
I actually had some spare time last weekend, and I reviewed ANY discussions posted between May 15 and May 30 in the MM forum having an answer and have not been closed  . I wrote a single direct message and included all OPs into the distribution list:
You posted a question in SCN MM forum in last week of May. This question is still open despite of many answers. Is the issue really open and you don't follow up on it? If not open then please close your discussion. If you found the solution yourself, then share it. Check out the blog post 'How to close a discussion and why' in SCN.
Yes I had some good responses to the direct message. Yes some of them have closed their discussion from May, quite a few posted a solution. Some do not understand at all what "correct answer" actually means and marked their own "thank you" as correct answer. And some others which are already known as careless did neither respond nor close any of their discussions, they are just going on and posting the next question.
