Old meetings on Calendar

I have had my iPhone since December and the meetings from that time frame are still on my phone calendar. I haven't found a way to remove old meetings, without removing them from the calendar I am syncing up to, or manually deleting a single meeting at a time. I thought the "Do not sync events older than ..." setting in iTunes might handle this, but apparently not.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

....whew....
after whatever i could understand from whatever your problem is:
private and MFE meetings are stored separately, and only MFE data is synced.
DO NOT sync with outlook if you sync with MFE. if you do, duplicates will be created.

  • ITunes only shows old deleted iCal calendars

My iTunes only shows old deleted iCal calendars. How do I get it and iCal resynced?

That was useful help. I thought iSync was cremated 2 years ago with the advent of Tiger and was only used to sync phones and pdas. Further, I have searched 'elsewhere' and have not found any other solutions.

  • Is there any way to keep the old mail, phone, calendar format and yet switch to IOS7?

Is there anyway to keep our old mail, calendar, and phone format and yet use IOS7?  I find the new system so plain that it is difficult to see.  I keep missing new emails because the little numbers are so small they barely show up and the plain white screens are so bright they are hard to look at.  I would just go back but I really like some of the new features.

    Man I am with you!
The new user interface for iOS7 is just dreadful.  I turned down the brightness but the lack of shading or delineation between UI elements makes it difficult to read.
It feels like they're chasing Android.

  • How do I get iCal in Lion to read my old 10.6 calendar files, notational velocity files

    Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded from 10.6 to 10.8 and did a clean install. I backed everything up using Time Machine and have chosen to transfer most things manually as there were a lot of applications and system files that I did not want to copy over. However, I've run into an issue when trying to transfer over my files for iCal -- I found the old calendar data in Users/my name/Library/Calendars, and copied it over into the Library file on my new machine. There wasn't a Calendars file yet, so I created it. However, when I open iCal, it doesn't show my old calendars-- I tried manually importing them, but it wants me to import each individual event -- there must be an easier way to do this. Where does iCal read its calendar data by default in 10.8? Do I have to do anything additional to get iCal to read it?
Additionally, I can't find my old notational velocity notes -- they should be in Application Support under my old Library files, but I am not seeing them. A spotlight search hasn't yielded anything. Anyone know where they might be? I hadn't changed the default, so I imagine they ought to be there.
    Best,

A quick look at their web site shows I've misinterpreted what you said - Notational Velocity isn't related to iCal. However if you are still having a problem with that the makers would be the people to ask.
I'm not sure why you can't get iCal files to work if they are in the correct place. In 10.6.8 the Calendar folder includes a folder for each calendar, and these contain the .ics files which represent the actual events. I don't know whether 10.8 has altered the format as I don't use it.
You originally said ' I found the old calendar data in Users/my name/Library/Calendars, and copied it over into the Library file on my new machine.' - did you copy the entire Calendars folder intact?

  • Outlook for Mac - do not automatically add meetings to calendar

In Outlook (both for Windows and for Mac), the default behavior is to automatically respond with tentative to meetings requests, which results in meetings automatically added to the calendar.
I receive a lot of meeting requests, and only need to attend a few of them (which I manually accept), so I'm not interested in all those meetings requests cluttering my calendar.
Is it possible in Outlook for Mac to prevent meetings automatically being added to the calendar? I found I thread on how to do it in Outlook for Windows:http://www.msoutlook.info/question/747,
but wasn't able to configure it in the Mac version.
I'm using Outlook for Mac 2011, Version 14.3.2.
    Thanks, Ido

This actually isn't client-side (that is, Outlook) setting. This is a server setting on Exchange. Depending on how your Exchange server is configured, this might or might not be a setting that you are allowed to change.
If you are allowed to change it, you can do so via Outlook Web App. The instructions that I'm giving here are for Exchange 2013.
    Open OWA.
Click the "Settings" gear (upper right corner), then select "Options".
In the left navigation pane, select "Settings", and then select "calendar" in the main pane.
Scroll down until you see "automatic processing". If you can change this setting, you'll see a tick box titled "Automatically place new meeting requests on my calendar, marked Tentative". Untick that box.
Click save, and then exit the settings.
Earlier versions of Exchange also allow this, although the path to it is slightly different depending on which version of Exchange you're in. They should all be in the calendar settings, you might have to poke around to find the exact location in your version
    of Exchange.

  • IPhone 3 randomly missing meetings on calendar

My iPhone 3 will occasionaly miss a meeting that is on my Outlook calendar. All other meeetings appear and are correct, however different meetings at different times will not sync. Some are live meetings, and some are regular meetings. I have other live meetings that will sync. Why is this happening?

    Hi wxshady,
We use MS Outlook Exchange and I was told by a coworker to do the following.  Look at the meeting requests with attachments by size of the file.  Remove any attachments from the meeting requests that caused the file size to be greater than 1MB and save them offline.  This is even for meetings that are in the past.  Once they are all less than 1MB, power your iPhone or iPad down completely.  Turn it back on an viola they should be all back.  It worked for me.
    Good Luck

  • Delgate not able to meetings to calendar (2010 Outlook)

As a Delegate, why can't I add an appointment/meeting to his calendar?
I was added as a delegate to manage his calendar.  It will not allow me to click on the time and add a meeting.  It sends him a meeting request (the point to make me a delegate was to avoid all those emails).
It also won't let me see his agenda (it shows busy).
Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem? I need it fixed ASAP as I need to enter an entire year of agenda.

    Hi,
From your description, you don't have the permission to create an appointment in his calendar. If you want to do this, you need have the Editor permission at least. "It also won't let me see his agenda (it shows busy)", it indicates that you only
have the Free/Busy time permission to his calendar. Please let this user verify and correct the permission.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • ICal sending Meeting Notifications for old meetings.

Apple needs to bring iCal and iMail up to par with outlook. When I have my iCal preferences set to delete events older then 180 days, iCal sends meeting notifications to outlook users that sent me the original meeting. It is pretty embarrassing to have a meeting notification sent to someone for something that occurred months ago. I have had to resort to changing the preference to never delete old events. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

    davald,
Perhaps Mail/Address Book/iCal are confused in regard to addresses in your "My Card," or your "My Card" needs to be refreshed.
Quit Mail/iCal, and open Address Book, then click on the card with your name, and select Card>Make This My Card. If that selection is grayed out, add a new card, make it "My Card" and delete the old "My Card." Make sure that you list all of the email addresses that you currently use. Then log in/out or restart.
If none of that proves helpful, go to Mail>Window>Previous Recipients and remove your old email addresses on that list.
    ;~)

  • Iphone mail hyperlink created events don't update to outlook calendar

I created an event using a hyperlink in mail on my iphone. The event never sync'd to my ipad or outlook (active sync and exchange). After a support call to apple(with no results) and spending some time and about $175.00 with an outside IT person, we found the problem. When we deleted the location information, the event would immediately show up in outlook and any other mobile devices syncing to that calendar. I am speculating that there are some characters that either the iphone or exchange does not like in this locaion field. The iphone picked up all of the location characters automatically through the hyperlink in mail. I just started using this hyperlink feature and really like how quickly i can create an event......so much for that unless i delete or clean up the location field.
    Hope this helps someone

there are many posts on this subject.. I myself had the problem and fixed it with a manual and not elegant process... but it works.
Exchange-Outlook have many documented issues with recurring appointments and users with more than one device: either a desktop + laptop or a laptop+smartphone, or laptop+iPhone, etc. The issue gets bigger if there are delegates with access to same account.
Outlook 2007 had many issues to sync with devices (whether or not iPhone was not the issue). they reportedly fixed those issues with Outlook 2007 SP1 released few months ago. After installing that SP1 I had no more problems... until recurring appointments created again that malfunction you describe
AFAIK the best workaround is to manually delete the corrupted recurring appointments. recurring appointments get corrupted very frequently. You can change the view on outlook calendar and show only corrupted appointments or recurring appointments and fix the issues. Not elegant but works.
Dave Whitehouse summarized the process as follows:
"This was my solution to this problem.
I found that my calendar entries were totaling over 86meg. To see your calendar size select Tools, Mailbox Cleanup.., View Mailbox Size.. Then select Close, Close to get out.
To view and delete old calendar entries do the following:
    Select Calendar on the navpane.
Select View, Arrange by, Current View, By Category,
You may sort by End time. Some of my old meetings were several years old and they had attachments. I selected from the top and went down to about a week previous and the pressed the delete key.
I exited Outlook, not sure if this is needed and restarted it. I then sync'd from iTunes and it worked."

  • ICloud accepting old appointments

When I upgraded my consulting macbook pro to 10.7.2 and iCloud, it went and accepted (and emailed responses) to old appointments.  I only recieved cursious repsonses from some of my clients, but I fear it may have spammed everyone.  Searching around doesn't reveal anyone else with this problem (although someone contaced me directly via my blog who has the same issue).
Does anyone else knonw what's going on?  Why would iCloud send a response to a meeting that's almost 4 years old?

I synched my work calendar to ICloud on my home PC and office PC and the cloud sent replies to all meeting invitees for meetings future and old meetings that had been originally scheduled by my acceptance of a meeting request organized by someone else --with me as the organizer, even though I was not and had not taken any action to re-respond or send notice to all attendees.  It appeared I was rescheduling all my clients and business contacts' meetings as my own for all dates past and future.  If I deleted an appointment that had been scheduled as a meeting request it sent a meeting cancellation notice to all attendees with me listed as the organizer, even though I was not.  This occurred hours after synching for the first time and ICloud continued to hijack new appointment requests as they came in the next day and resend a new meeting invitation to all recipients with me as the organizer.  I had to disable the cloud for my calendar and hard synch.  I am running Outlook 2007 at home and 2010 at the office.  Still working with ICloud to synch contacts between PC's and Iphone.  I cannot find any posts where Apple is working to address this problem.  No action on meeting requests past future or otherwise should be taken without authorization of the user.

  • How do I delete meetings from iCal without notifying everyone?

How do I delete meetings from iCal without notifying everyone?  I've searched the Web and the only answer that comes back is to use a product that doesn't help me with Microsoft Exchange.  This seems like a fairly simple thing to fix, but has been outstanding for 3+ years.  Really?  Am I the only person who wants to remove old meetings from an Exchange calendar without whacking the entire calendar and its appointments and without having the original participants getting spammed?
I'm using the built-in "delete events xx days after they have passed", which you would think wouldn't do this.  Guess again.  I cannot control the fact my clients use Exchange, and it's a fairly common e-mail system for enterprises to have.  Are there any solutions?
    Thanks!

I was just experiencing this problem on Mountain Lion. The calendar I wanted to delete was on iCloud. So, I logged into iCloud from a web browser, and selected Calendar. On the current incarnation of iCloud Calendar the calendars are listed on the left. I selected the "Edit" link at the top of that list and chose delete. It indicated that the items would be deleted, but there was nothing about notifications. Then, when I went back to iCal on my Mac, I selected the calendar to be deleted, right clicked, and slected refresh...
    ... gone.
It probably would have disappeared on it's own eventually. I'd be curious to see if theis works for others, so please confirm.
    Good luck.

  • After ios5 two exchange calendars

    Hi all,
I work in IT and am the primary support person for iDevices. Our VP recently upgraded to iOS5 and after the update has two exchange calendars instead of 1. The first is his normal calendar and the second has a bunch of old meetings which do not show in his Outlook.
I tried turning calenders off and back on as well as deleting his Exchange account on the phone and recreating but both calendars show up. He is able to uncheck the second one but it will randomly get checked again and these old cancled recurring meetings show up as a different color on his calendar.
Has anyone experienced this before or have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks
    David

We're testing iOS 5 for our users, i've upgraded my personal device.
On one user, our Executive Assistant, it copied her boss' (our CEO) calendar as a new sub calendar in her account.
so looking at it in Outlook, she had her cal, and the CEO's both in HER account, the CEO's was still there under his...
we had to delete the copy of his out of hers.  no damage, but very odd Bx.
she has editor rights to his cal, but also that of several others, so i'm not sure if it is permissions in Exchage.
