Which type of email account are you using? POP3, IMAP or Exchange?
Do you have your emails sync to other mobile devices? If so, please try disabling the sync and test again.
Please also try to start Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue is caused by problematic add-in. To open Outlook in safe mode, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook /safe and press Enter.
Please let me know the result.

My IMessage is sending from my email, and I am recieving
Messages thru my email. I have tried to fix this by going to Settings > messaging > recieved at> and my phone number pops up along with my email. It will let me click on my email, but my phone number is greyed out and I can't click on it.i have also tried caller id, which still didn't fix the problem.
Trying to kill two birds with one stone, my phone also says that I have no storage left. I literally have 3 apps installed on my phone. Facebook, Twitter, and instagram. I only have 52 photos, 0 videos, and about 115 songs. I know for a fact that I shouldn't be out of storage, because I have friends with the same iPhone 4, that have 400 pictures, a thousand songs, and page after page of apps. I want to know what is taking up all of the storage, and what can I do to get rid of it. Thank you in advanceSorry G23 - I like birds ;)

Trying to clean up iMessages on my iPad 2. When I click edit, then select ones to delete, they delete, but then iMessage freezes up. If I close the app and start over, it tries to load, but always goes back to home screen. So must hard reset, but then when I go back to iMessage, all deleted items are there again. Is there a step I am missing? Or a fix to my problem?

Mail marks old messages as unread and quits upon starting
Opened mail this morning and all of a sudden all my old and already read messages appeared marked unread and mail exexpectedly quits.
I have read many answers to this problem in the Os X 10.4 group, but no real solutions, except for the one about the mailto-link. But that didn't work for me either. People think this is a 10.4.3 bug, but my Mac (G4 mirrored) runs Os 10.3.9 .

NikkiI don’t understand what you say about what you’ve seen in the Tiger forum, but Mail is crashing because of some corruption in at least one of the files used by the junk filter.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, proceed as follows:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/.
3. Locate LSMMap2 and move it to the Trash. This file stores information about what does and doesn’t constitute junk, and allows the junk filter to learn. Deleting this file is what Preferences > Junk Mail > Reset does. The file was called LSMMap in early versions of Mail; delete that as well if you see it.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder. -
Hi , All my incoming messages up to September 4th on one of my mail accounts are impossible to be read again !! When I 'click" on any of the messages a blank window appears instead of the text..!! However , all the incoming messages received yesterday and today are perfectly readable.
How can I solve this problem ?

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup -
Changed server and all the old messages are gone in thunderbird
We moved the server location for the imap and smtp server for a given domain name (domain name server changed)
We are now receiving and sending email ok but the old messages from that domain name are now gone.
We have a second computer that also run mozilla and has the old messages if that is helpful.
What is the easiest method to get the old messages back?

I suppose that means you changed the IMAP server name for an existing account.

With IMAP all messages are managed on the server. So what you see is exactly the expected behavior.
In order to preserve your messages you should have moved the messages from the old server to your local disc prior to changing to the new server.

I don't understand that. Once your domain has been moved to the new provider, the mail server of the previous provider isn't reachable anymore. So basically you do have the same problem on the 'other computer'. The reason you still do see messages there probably is that the old server isn't reachable anymore.
The question is whether you just see the headers or the entire messages. In the latter case you probably told Thunderbird to download an offline copy (synchronization). Please confirm. -

If you have several Devices such as an iPad and iPhone and Mac you may find that an older Conversation will sync several days after the iMessages were sent.
I happened to have been away from my computer over a weekend.
I iMessaged my wife from my iPhone whilst on a hotel Wifi.
These were synced when I turned on the Computer and launched Messages.
This was only a relatively short period of just over 24 hours.
I have not tested for longer.
I suspect there may be a 48 hour limit.

My mail application is completely screwed up: it
re-sends old messages to people and it's becoming a
HUGE problem. It's completely random but it happens
at least once a day. I'm also having trouble with
attachments -- i often can't open them (even though

I would like to trash the application and just
re-install it. Does anyone know how to do this?
The easiest way is to use a program called "Pacifist." It allows individual packages to be installed. Just Google the program name and mac and download it. ($20 shareware and totally worth it)
Use your original OSX 10.4 install disk and run pacifist and re-install the mail package using Pacifist. Download any updates (ie: OS X 10.4.5 combined) and repeat the process with the updated mail application included in the combination package.
You will now have a fresh, current install of mail. -

I have a problem. I was happily deleting and moving some emails from my Inbox on my ipad when all of a sudden, the messages just disappeared!!! When I tried to get to that page again, the address reads"mail.google.com/mail/mu/mp/12#tl/Inbox. So from Inbox down to All mail, the message just says"no offline messages" However, I still have messages in the business plan, travel etc boxes. I can view my inbox messages via the message icon in my iPad.
I went to see an Apple store, I am based in Patong, Phuket, Thailand, where I bought it sometime in November last year. The technician could see the messages in my inbox from his Mac via direct connection through gmail whereas I couldn't. As there is a language problem and I am an IT virgin, it all sounds double Dutch to me when he tried to say something about my server, and I had to take it down to an authorized apple service provider in town. I don't really want to do it unless it is the last resort as I have only my iPad, and I am sure it will take at least a week to be sorted out. Would greatly appreciate any help.

BenMessages should work with the email address that you use for your Apple ID. You have to be signed into that email address in order for any other email address that you have added to work.
You should add your iPhone number to your Apple ID on the iPad, and then select that as the contact address at which you can be reached and all of the messages between the phone and the iPad will sync again.

Phone number missing on iPad or iPod touch
If your phone number isn't listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.
On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.
If your phone number still isn't listed, follow these steps:

Since installing iOS 6, I have had problems receiving calls and messages. Calls go straight to answerphone and messages do not appear until I switch off and on again. I have also installed iOS 6.1.1
Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.

Have been having trouble receiving messages. An indication of 1 of 3 messages being loaded. The first message comes up and that's the end. I'll restart Thunderbird and the same indication happens - the same first message returns and then that is it. If you send me an email, I doubt whether I will be able to receive it.

To get rid of "pop-up ads and other crap on my computer when I am on the internet", click on Safari in the Menu bar, and select Preferences. Next select Extensions. Delete all of them. Restart Safari.
The first step in addressing the black screen is an SMC reset.
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Reading the limitations mentioned in the first paragraph I would never trust Apple to permanently keep a copy of your purchases. Once you get them on your iPad immediately download them to your computer and then also to your backup drive. -
