I have a Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra with 59 songs on it and I also have a Creative Zen Micro Photo. I want to transfer the songs from my old one to my new one. The computer i used to organize the music for my old MP3 player ran on Windows ME. The Zen Micro requires Windows XP, so I installed it on a different computer. How in the hell can I get the music files from one player to the other?

If you've got a CD burner on the computer with ME then you can transfer the songs from the Xtra onto CD (in mp3 format: you should be able to fit a couple of hundred songs on one cd), and then move the CD across and transfer the songs onto the new player.

I cant find my all files in new version and older version is better than new and fix this problem....!

How to transfer songs from old MP3 player to Ipod

I have just upgraded to a 30gig Ipod Video. I had a Sony Walkman MP3 player before. I have got a couple of hundred songs on that MP3 player that I want to put on my Ipod. When I plug my old MP3 player into the computer and open Itunes, the songs come up in the Connect Player format (Connect Player is the Sony Walkman software). When I try to add them to Itunes it doesnt do anything or come up with any error message. I know they are the wrong format, how do I change them into a format that will go into Itunes.

You need software that will convert the songs to iPod form. You can just google the phrase "iPod Music Converter". And if you cant find anything change the phrase around a little bit.

Old Interface better than new

The old interface for the AppleTV seems much better than the new one. We lost features, especially when it comes to locating shows. Now they are in a single long list. More troublesome is the inability to see which episode I am selecting, without hovering and waiting for the show's art work to fade back and expose the episode details. This is painfully time consuming.
Am I the only one that thinks Apple has gone backwards in regards to usability?

Getting around in the old interface was much faster and easier. Notice how, with version 2, you have to work your way to "My shows" or "My movies". They didn't really consider usability or how much effort a user would need to go through to actually watch TV.
There is also the problem of placing shows in episode order. For example, with version 1.1, I purchased and downloaded three seasons of Bob Newhart from iTunes, and the shows were in order. Then, when the AppleTV was upgraded to 2.0, the order changed, and I now must hover over each show to determine which is the next episode. The same is true for the Terminator series. It became a less pleasant TV experience when I started watching episodes out of order.

I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at

In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.

Rush University Not used for 2 years) was installed. When Rush discontinued my service there, I lost the connetion. So I opened account with ATT and started on Safari and Firefox through Apple.. Safari worked better so I used Safari. I used a new e-mail address. This has been working well. Now I must reconnect with Firefox so that I can open some special documents within the next couple of weeks. Helper at FedConnect suggested that I restart Firefox .com which I did, not knowing that I was not patient enough and actually atarted to restart both 3.6 and Beta
several times. I erased all but one of Beta but I account get rid of the first Firefox and the old address. I do not remember what
my USER NAME or Password were. Is this my new e-mail address, it does not seem to wrk. I have tried to work both get a
new account and register with previous account. I must get
Firefox restarted or I will lose my small job. Please help me.

OpenSourcing 5.2 - It was better than anything since IMHO

I'm new hear but have been using StarOffice for a LOOONG time - way before SUN purchased it.
I was wondering why Sun chose to opensource 6.0 but not 5.2. Here's why I like 5.2...
a) I like the integrated suite
b) it was MUCH faster than anything that has been released since and uses fewer resources. I currently still use it and shake my head when I used 6.0, 7.0, and now 8.0 is ridiculously slow. B4 you flame me - go give it a shot.
I'd like to see some group take 5.2 and give it all the bells and whistles of 8.0 to see what would happen.

Hey, some please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my understanding of refurbished macbooks
Basically, someone returned the original macbook because either it was broken or they didnt want it, so apply fixed it up and repackaged it to be sold as refurbished. Doesn't this mean refurbs are almost guaranteed to work whereas a new one might be defective? Since someone already tested it out and apple fixed it.
Also, do refurbs come with brand new battery?

Why Flash player performance is better than Player comes with Adobe air ?

I built an Adobe Air application that played Video and working awesome on PC. now when i tried to start working on Tablet Version, What I found is
1. When i played 1 MB video file from Local , Audio and Video are not in sync and very disturbing. (not able to play a file more tha 2 Mb)
I created only video player using OSMF in the app. there is nothing else that can hamper the performace.
2. When i played same video using Web based Flex Application. It works perfectly
3. I tried with StageWebView in Adobe air and Results are equivelent to Web Version.
I am using Adobe Air 3.1 which is shipped with Flash Player 11.1, Then where things went Wrong.
Why I can't get the same performance in Air App?
IS AIR THE RIGHT CHOICE TO BUILD MOBILE APP?
IS THAT POSSIBLE TO GET NATIVE PLAYER/WEB VERSION LIKE PERFOMANCE (OR CLOSED TO) USING ADOBE AIR?

Yes, however they aren't practical for many people since they aren't compatible with Yahoo's unlimited music service. Many people would rather get a Zen Micro or Sleek and pay $60 a year to Yahoo to fill up their player with music rather than pay over $,000 to Apple to fill up their 4 gig player with music at 99 cents a song. With the Yahoo service, one can also change the music in their player without additional cost.

With Creative's Nano and Nano Plus, one can use a rechargeable AAA battery. Rechargeable AAA batteries are great since most chargers can charge 4 at a time. Four nimh AAA rechargeable batteries and a charger can often be purchased for under $20.
With the ipod Nano, once the charge in the built in battery runs out, one can't listen to it until it is recharged. With the Creative Nano Plus, one just switches to another battery(remember I just mentioned how AAA nimh batteries can be conveniently charged 4 at a time?). Taking an ipod Nano on a long trip would be annoying. While the player is small, the notebook computer one would need to carry with it to recharge the player is quite large. I would much rather carry a few extra AAA batteries than a notebook computer(I as many others don't even own a notebook computer).

Before this kinda wonderful thing called the World Wide Web there was Usenet, which is a different system for posting on information boards. Creative's "news server" is a Usenet based server. Much like the web board here that allows you to post questions, answer etc., but it's a completely different system from the world wide web, and arguably a lot better targeted at this type of information format.
Basically just click on JCE's link, or the link in my signature, and your default newsreader should take you there and allow you to complete the setup.

Okay, so WHY is intel's legacy driver way better than the new one?

I bit the bullet and installed the intel-legacy video driver because I wanted to see if it was true that the old one was better than the new.
Result: Compiz is REMARKABLY smoother. As in, I'd forgotten just how pretty a silky smooth Compiz setup really is. I've done no benchmarking, don't care to. The point is, for example, I can set the opacity to 85% in the Move Window plugin and it doesn't hose the framerate.
My question is, why? What's going on in the new driver that made the performance totally tank? When there's a new driver and EVERYONE seems to have the same problem, I'm a little confused as to why they "improved" it.

Not only KMS, but also DRI2 and GEM. The next Intel video driver release should support only UXA, getting rid of the legacy cruft and concentrating on supporting one option properly.

From an MP3 Player to my NEW Ipod?

I just made the jump from my old MP3 player (Creative Zen Jukebox Xtra 30 GB) to the 30GB Ipod. I want to transfer the 1100 songs that I have from my old MP3 Player to my Ipod. Is it possible to transfer these songs without having to lose any info or even downloading them all to my computer first?

Ok my problem is just like that other guy's. I have a Creative Zen Neeon 6GB but upgraded to a 30GB vid. ipod. I uploaded all my CDs to the iPod but I was still missing the files from the Zen. I went into iTunes and imported the files into the library, but when I tried to delete one from the Zen, it showed in iTunes that the files could not be found and i had to delete it from iTunes. How do I move it from the Zen to the Hard Drive to the iTunes? Step by step would be nice:) If you could help me as soon as possible that would be GREAT!
