Old PCI 128 dri

I got an old Windows 98 system to run my favorite flight sim (won't work on anything newer). I also got a PCI 28 board (CT4700)?to go along with the old system. I downloaded and installed the driver (e28up9x)?but Windows still?doesn't recognize any driver. Where is it's If I know where the Setup program put it, I can manually find it and tell Windows?so I can get operational. Can anybody out there help me?

Hi again del-pepite,
I thought this was a good summation of what QE is: http://kb.iu.edu/data/ajeb.html
Your AGP card is QE compatible. Your PCI card is not. No PCI card is, as far as I know.
I went through this topic once before myself. It's easy to add a PCI card to your Mac but it seems *any PCI card* will disable or interfere with using Quartz Extreme. So that's a lot of modern Apple software.
I tried to get this solved talking to Apple. But they were completely unconcerned. They just said they didn't take into consideration older models when creating new software. At least in this case.
Actually I was pretty angry as I had just a month or so prior bought the PCI card that The Hatter mentions above. Still on the market and advertised. However neither Apple nor ATI is really making public the fact that using PCI cards disable some software when installed in Macs. If one has a PCI card and has just bought iLife 08, they will find that iMovie 7 doesn't work, at all. That's one of the four apps in iLife 08. Or a quarter of the price.
I don't know how you would manage a 3rd monitor without the card interfering with QE apps. Or what you could use in lieu of a PCI card. Only way I can think of is to have an s-video output on your AGP card. That could go to a tv but another monitor, I don't know.
Write here to try to make a difference, I think the ball is in Apples court:http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

• [nForce] K7N2 board and Soundblaster PCI 128 soundcard

I am running w2k with all uptodate service packs. I have an MSI K7N2 motherboard with uptodate drivers (downloaded today!) and having problems with a Creative PCI 128 soundcard. The gameport controller will not work as in Device Manager it says it can't find enough resources. I have swapped PCI slots, removed all other PCI devices and tried to change the resource configuration in Device Manger but was unsuccessful. I can't see any other devices conflicting with the soundcard and nothing shows in System Information as using the same resource as the soundcard. Anyone any ideas?
Thanks

• Looking for drivers for an old PCI-FlexMotion card

I'm trying to use an old PCI-FlexMotion card (ASSY nr. 184979B-01) in my win XP PC.  The motion software version 5.0 seems not to have a compatible driver because the OS did not found the PIC card. I did not find any addtional driver on NI-support side. Is there any chance to use the PIC card. That old is it not!
thanks.

Nop, it didn't work:
but:  I have only MOTION 5.2. (no other older version in available in the NI-Support page) However, I tried with 5.2 copying the files as described in the readme text.  The OS does not recognise the FlexMotion board.
Trying choosing the driver manually (PCI device propertiesà update driveràspecific locationà don’t search)  in the NI motion controller driver list the Flexmotion board does not appear. I only see: PCI-encoder-4a, PCI Servo-XX, PCI-Step-XXX and some other  PXI-7XXX devices.  I’ve test some of them with no success.
Thank you.

• Sb 128 pci WDM dri

I need WDM driver for my SB 28 PCI (CT480) for Windows Me. Is there any good one? I already downloadad few drivers from creative site but I get noice when playing games. Is there any VxD driver that support multistreaming (winamp and game sound at the same time)?

Flex,
I found several drivers for the PCI 28 on the website. Go to the support/downloads section and in the search by product section select Sound Blaster/Other/Sound Blaster PCI 28. Then select your OS and this should take you to where they are.

• Will SB PCI 128 Support CDRW and DVDRW Earphone Listeni

Hey Gang,
I was able to listen to my headphones privately on my CDROM. The jack was located on the front of the device just below the cdrom turntable.
My soundcard has been my SB PCI 28. My problem is that since I got rid of the old cdrom and upgraded to a DVDRW and a CDRW I haven't been able to listen to my headphones/earphones anymore.
Does my SB PCI 28 earphone support earphone/headphone listening on a DVDRW or CDRW, or is is STRICTLY FOR CDROM's?
Do I have to download new drivers, reset a jumper or get a new card?
I've tried pluggin the audio cord from the cd/dvd to each one of the three rectangular input jacks on the sb pci 28 and no joy.
Thanks,
HULK

Make sure you disable Digital Playback for the DVD-ROM.....in device manager and the software you are using for example WMP.....

• Does an old PCI GPIB /+ card work on a G3 running osx 10.2.8 & labview 7?

Hello,
I have an old 9600 mac with a PCI card running labview 5.1
I would like to remove the PCI card and put it in a g3, running labview 7.0 on os X 10.2.8.
Can anyone tell me if this will work or not?
Kristopher

To use our latest Mac OS X driver, you'll need Mac OS X 10.3.5 or later.  Here's the link to that driver:
http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/8BE1DDBE5A512D2D86256FB60059177D?opendocument&node=13207...
Prior to it being released, we had support on Mac OS 9.0.x.  You may be able to use this old driver in "classic mode" if that exists in Mac OS 10.2.8, but by far your best solution is to upgrade to 10.3.5.
Hope this helps.

• Old pci-7334 for Linux

I bought a PCI-7334 (for spare) two years ago (2008) for an instrument observatory. The control software was under Linux, and unfortunately this new version of PCI-7334 does not work with old driver for Linux. Also, this new board works fine under Windows.
I am looking for someone who could sell me an older version (2005) of the PCI-7334 (Copyright 2001) or against me share the news.
Look image in attachment.
Best regards, David.

• Unsolved - Legacy Device not installing on PCI 128 CT4

I have a PCI 28 sound card, its model is CT4750. I installed it in Windows 95 and it works fine there, but when I try to run old MS-DOS applications from within Windows there's no sound. In device manager, there's an exclamation point on the icon for Legacy device. It says it has no driver. I have installed several drivers, including the one on the CD and the ones on soundblaster.com. Can anyone help? Specifically, I'm trying to get Doom and Doom 2 to work
Thanks.

Download these drivers www.kxproject.com
Now, uninstall any sound drivers you have installed and any media apps you may have for creative.
Install the KX driver. These should work really well with the games you speak of
Good luck.

• Creative Labs Soundblaster PCI 128 _ for german Windows ME _ Treiber download without succ

Hello!
4 years ago, I bought my computer with Millenium edition in Germany. Now I had to reinstall all and my software to soundcard doesn't function at all. I tried to download something from creative homepage but the Tribers are "too old". Even the "automatic download programm" doesn't function well, only tells, that there is something damaged in my software. I didn't manage to download the tribers for my soundcard.
Who can help a blond girl? I tried all possible :smileyindifferent:
The nicest would be to send me directely the link. But to be honest, I would be glad for the smallest help because now I don't hear anything on my pc ^.^

Hallo!
bitte mailen an: [email protected]][email protected]

Hm,

• Problems with Sound Blaster PCI 128 at Wi

Hello,
I've a Sound Blaster PCI 28 Sound Card from Creative. I never had any problems with it when I was using it at WinME. But now I had to install WinXP Prof (incl. SP + SP2) for using some new programs and the soundcard doesn't work at all there.
The card is shown at the device manager at "Other/Unkown devices" as "Audio Controller for Multimedia". I downloaded some drivers from the archi've of the creative homepage witch were said to be for this card used at WinXp. Here are the links for this drivers:
For example:
http://de.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=&Product=864&dlcentric= 843&Product_Name=PCI+28&OSName=Windows+XP
http://de.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=&Product=864&dlcentric= 255&Product_Name=PCI+28&OSName=Windows+XP
http://de.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?MainCategory=&Product=864&dlcentric= 976&Product_Name=PCI+28&OSName=Windows+XP
But none of this drivers can be installed. When I start the installation after some time of loading there appears an alert with says:
"Setup wasn't able to find a Sound Blaster Audiocard on your system. Please make sure that your Soundblaster hardware is installed correctly before starting the setup. Setup will finish/exit now."
Does anyone know how to get this card running on WinXp?
Does anyone know some alterati've drivers witch could be suitable for this card and WinXP?
Thx for help!

Go back to the download link and download the Waveset file. After which, follow the steps from this Knowledgebase article SID930 to install the waveset.

• Re-installing an old PCI Sound Blaster c

I have cobbled together a new machine, Gigabyte GA-M55 m/b, Athlon 64x2 5000 CPU, 2 gig of RAM. I was planning to re-use the PCI28 sound card since I don't need anything fancy. I installed the drivers from the original CD, and I think it worked because in Device Manager Creative Sound Blaster PCI (WDM) is shown as working correctly. However, I can't get a squeak out of the speakers. I went to the Creative download page. The Auto detect link didn't find any Creative product. Entering PCI 28, or the model number, CT4750, just produced "No updated drivers found."?The original machine was XP Home, this one is XP Pro, is that a problem?Any suggestions much appreciated. David

ES938S might (or might not be) be an ESS card, not Sound Blaster.
You didn't say what operating system you're using but the only drivers I could find were these:

• Lost Video, Mouse now Ensoniq ES1371 PCI 128 not work

My sister's computer recently had an unknown breakdown. It is 600mhz with onboard sound running on Windows 98SE. She lost her video driver, mouse driver, and sound driver. I was able to eventually get everything back but the sound. I assumed that the onboard sound was corrupt, so I purchased an Ensoniq ES37 PCI 28 and installed it. It doesn't work either. Before installing it I tried disabling the onboard in Bios and uninstalling all the related sound items in device manager, but that didn't work. In device manager it says that all the drivers are working properly and there are no conflicts. DirectX Diagnostics says that there is no audio driver installed. Windows Media Player says something like "Drivers working properly, but there is an unknown problem with the audio device. Check to make sure the device is properly connected." These were the same error messages I was getting for the onboard sound too. I would really appreciate any help on this. I have been working on it for weeks without hope. Please let me know any information you need to know that might help. Thanks.

Yes I disabled the onboard sound and it wasnt an IRQ problem, I found out the Delta L board is just totally incompatible with Audigy 2 and I am guessing the same problem with my lucent modem, I returned the motheboard *cries* and got a Shuttle MN135N which has worked like wonders =)
