Old photos don't load on new iphone, but do display as gray squares
I'm trying to help my mom with a new iphone she got. A couple of months ago my mom bout a new iphone at a sprint store and had the store guy sync all her data from her old iphone. The photos didn't seem to transfer properly though. When you pull up the camera role, all the thumbnails from new pictures she's taken since buying the phone show up and work properly when you click them. But all the photo thumbs from the old phone just show up as grey tiles, and when and when you click on them it just says loading with a spinning wheel indefinitely. Any one ever have this problem?
She had an all her photos stored on her ipad as well, but they have since been deleted, I suspect due to an automatic sync with the phone. Anyone know of a way to get them pack from the ipad side?

I don't want to restore photos from icloud onto my new iphone

I had an iPhone 4 and just got a new 5c. I backed up my 4 to icloud as i dont't own a laptop. I bought 20GB of storage and everything seemed to work. When I set up new iPhone i selected 'Restore from iCloud Back up' as I need old contacts on this new phone HOWEVER, I do not want all photos on new phone as I donot have enough space and they will fill up my memory. They are already in my iCloud so I shouldn't need them on new phone. I didn't see any option to just restore data rather than media and so photo stream is downloading constantly but wont finish as there is not enough space on phone. How can I just restore contacts to new phone and not pictures? My other option could be to set up as new iphone, but if I do this can I then download the contacts from my icloud seperately?
Going slowly insane.You can't restore only part of the backup. Only camera roll photos are stored in the backup and they will have to be restored as part of restoring the entire backup. Photo stream photos are not stored in the backup; photo stream photos from the last 30 days will stream to your new phone when it signs into your iCloud account. You can stop this by turning off my photo stream in Settings>iCloud>Photos.
The other thing you should be aware of is that you can't have photos in iCloud that are not also on your phone. If you delete them from your phone, they will be deleted from iCloud. -
just got a new iphone but its coppied all my my photos from my old iphone onto the new 1 how do i get them off? its not appearing in the photo tab of the iphone sync page thing

Looks like your syncing pics on your computer to your phone. to remove it when your phone is sync to itunes, uncheck sync in the photos tab. -
I wonder if I buy a new iphone but I will use my old simcard is everything in the simcard will stay if I place in a new iphone ?? Exp: contact numbers photoes application and messages.

Thanks for the question. When it comes to iPhone, very little is stored on the SIM card. Contacts, Photos, etc can be backed up with iTunes or iCloud and then transferred to a new device. For information on how to do so, see this resource:

i changed my email for my apple id, but i can't change my iCloud account because i can't remember my old password, and now i need to use iCloud for my new IPhone but it isn't working, how do i fix that?
If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I lost my latest photos when I mirrored my new iPhone 5 with my previous iPhone 4, and I don't know how to access the Cloud to check if they're still there. Can someone help me how to access the Cloud to check my content?
Thanks, gdIf you backed up your iPhone 5 before you did this, photo in the camera roll would be included in the backup. You would have to restore the entire backup to recover them. Also, you can see what's in the backup ahead of time. You can only find out what photos are there by restoring the backup.

If you made a backup before you restored it you can restore your iPhone from a backup and your game data should be restored. When you connect your iPhone in iTunes you can right click on it in the sidebar and select restore from backup.

If the phone is locked to a carrier then you will need the carrier to unlock it And only the carrier can do that.

What version of the OS do you have? What has changed since iPhtoo worked?
What exactly is the problem - you say "it was not responding" - You downloaded a new version (what version)" -you can't find yoru photos" none of which is helpful
look in your applications folder - is there an Iphoto application there? If so get info and report the version
Look in the picures folder - is there an iPhoto library there? If so exactly (including exact error messages) happens if you double click on it?
what else can you tell us that might help us assist you?

You can sync apps as you normally would, but I do not believe this copies over app specifc data (i.e. saved game status/scores).
You can always restore your new device with a backup from your old device. -
