Old plugins and actions with cc

What happens with my plugins when we get forced into this? Do my old, paid for, versions of portraiture and nik effects still work? What about actions that I have saved to a disk, will I be able to install those in photoshop cc? Congrats Adobe - pro photographers everywhere are getting killed, you just made the age of "photographers" who shoot it and burn it have the upper hand on real professionals

I just joined the CC today.
Didn't change anything on my system, just uninstalled "old" version of PS CS6, without deleting Preferences/plugs/actions/workpsaces etc.
Then installed PS CS6, entered my Cloud login details and PS was validated by the CC.
You must know that the CC just download a program to your harddisk, and installs it on your harddisk, just as it always was.
The only thing that's changed is the validating/licening system. That's done through the Cloud. Yu can also save files in the Cloud, but that's not a necessity.
You can still keep your files on your HD and keep working from your HD.
As nothing base level has changed you still will be able to use your plugins, workspace, actions etc. Whatever is on your HD and stays there will still be usable in CC PS CS6

I have a number of Plugins and Actions that I use in PS CS6. If/when I make the move to PS CC, will those Plugins and Actions be compatible? And, will they automatically be installed in the PS CC version when I download that? Thank you very much.

For plugin compatiblilty you will need to check with the company that makes the plugin.
If you have a question about a specific plugin for a specific product then you could try posting in that product forum since Adobe employees or other forum users may know.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID. When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data. If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account. If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

Unable to open a CS5 file in CC - does not recognize plugin - please help. Just removed old software and replaced with CC yesterday.

I was having issues with illustrator and it was time to upgrade anyway, so I uninstalled all previous versions of Adobe and upgraded to CC. Now I'm trying to open my old files and the exact error reads, "Could not read the fiel because the plug-in could not understand this file." What plug-in do I need to download? And why wasn't this part of the package in the first place?

The three step reinstallation may be relevant.
But you could try to create a new document and File>Place the troublesome one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).
If it is a corrupt file, there are some more things to try, but in this case it might take too much of the little time before your deadline.

Different versions Plugin and ActiveX with MSI file installation

Dear all,
we used the newest Adobe Flash Player MSI file with our software deployment tool. But we has trouble with two different versions of plugin and ActiveX installation.
Does any body know how that could be appear? Should we use now the .EXE file?

The EXE and MSI installers on the distribution page are always identical versions.
However, it seems to happen a lot that MSI installers are cached on some corporate servers. Make sure the caches are cleaned, or download the MSI from outside your corporate environment.

Unregistered iPad with old computer, and register with new computer

I've bought a new windows computer and have downloaded iTunes so that I could swap some music around between my iPad and iPhone.
On connecting iPad, it told me it was registered with another computer, yes my old one. How do I unregistered with the old tower and re-register with a new one?

I burnt two nice LightScribe labels, (nice because I cooked 'em twice for extra darkness, which takes time,) and then, after assuming that if I dragged and dropped my iTunes files to the desk top and then to Toast, as the above thread recommended, that since the files were accepted by toast doing things that way, that things were back to normal. I finished two beautiful CD's (I had a lot of work into the design of the labels,) by burning the music on to the disks. Well, my car cd player wouldn't play them, that is not normal, and I have two beautifully useless CD's which were the product of a lot of time and labor not to mention the cost of the disks... I've always been able to play back using the old process, (without the desktop drag and drop step,) - I'm running an iTunes version way beyond when this bug was supposed to be fixed. What do I do? How do I get back to being able to go directly from iTunes to Toast with successful playback? Thanks for your help with this!

Which problem did you solve: the double click with one tap or three finger drag? I too have aluminum 2008 MacBook, and I found the preferences and accessibility section but seem to fail in finding the right combo of preferences I'm used to or like. Ok, so the three finger drag is good, but click or tab... drives me bonkers!!! Everything was fine for me even after updating to Mountin Lion back in July 2012, but then all of a sudden in October 'my trackpad doesn't work the same. I don't even want to get on the computer anymore, because I'm annoyed and I cannot click on my user account to login with plugging in a mouse or using keyboard shortcut functions. It's hit or miss with my trackpad working, it freezes after awhile, then I have to plug in the darn mouse. I checked my trackpad firmware, it said up to date....I may have to actually start a new discussion??? But to continue venting... Some menu's need one tap, some require double tap... I cannot use one click unless its set to left or right for alternate menu's. Its just bad in my carpel tunnel and frustrating... I've been searching discussions for similar issues and I saw this. I saw you had an older Mac? It's funny how I switched over 4 years to Mac and mine is almost obsolete? I'm afraid to take it in only to pay more money. I guess my real question besides double clicking option would be if other folks with "the older Aluminum" 2008 MacBook models are having similar problems?

New 2008 Intel Mac CS3 and Actions with F keys

I just upgraded from my old ppc mac that was running Tiger and CS3. I have a new Mac Pro 2008 running Leopard and CS3. I have a number of Actions that are assigned an F key that I cannot use because they are corresponding to the system function keys. Does anyone know how I get the use of my F keys back in CS3.

Try this: open System Preferences, Keyboard & Mouse, and in the Keyboard Shortcuts section turn off what you want. I have them all turned off except the Screen Shots.

Removing Java SE 6 U32 Plugin and replacing with SE 7 U7

I am running Firefox ESR 10.0.7. We have Java Version 6 Update 32 installed on our lab environment. I needed to update Java to overcome the security vulnerabilities associated with the version we had. I downloaded and installed Java Version 7 Update 7; However when I run Firefox (after multiple reboots and deleting the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox profile) the only plugin that shows up is still Java Version 6 Update 32. Firefox knows not of my Java Version 7 Update 7 installation. How do I get the plugin into Firefox?

Backing up old iPhone and syncing with new iPhone 5 on a different account.

I recently purchased a new iPhone 5 on a straight talk account. I had an iPhone 4 on Verizon prior to now. My daughter and I have been sharing an iTunes account but this has caused us several problems receiving each other's texts and pictures and misc info. I signed up with a new iTunes account in an effort to avoid any future problems but I think I have created new problems. I have been trying to back up my old iPhone to the iTunes account and then sync it with the new phone. I was able to get my apps and music to appear on the new phone but my contacts and pictures didn't sync. I went into the iTunes program and marked the different things I wanted to sync. Still didn't work. Every time I run a sync with the new phone it acts like its a brand new phone and starts back at the programming stage with language and country option and then tells me to plug it into iTunes. Then the same process is repeated with the same result. Help. I just want to get my info off my old phone to my new phone and have a separate account from her. Also, I have an iMac and iPad. Please advise!

My computer crashed. When reistalled the Itunes on my old classic I Pod my Music was not there. What do I recover the old music and continue with my new music now.

I really would like to be able to down load the new music without losing the old music. It will not let me sync otherwise. Please help.

Your music is stored in the iTunes folder (under pictures on a Mac or My Photos on a PC).
If you have downloaded new music, you can always copy your iTunes folder to another place (called iTunes backup or something), then restore your old iTunes folder from your backup. The old music is gone if you don't have a backup. You have to reload it from CD or download it again (hopefully they won't charge you twice).
Once the old music is restored, make sure the newly downloaded songs are still there. If not, copy it from the iTunes backup folder into iTunes.

I am wondering if it is possible to install plugins from previous versions of garageband into the newer versions of Garageband?
I got to love the multiband compressor that came with Garagband 3, but am not a fan of the compressor in GB5.
Is there any way to install the old style into GB5?
..and is the old AUmultiband compressor available for download anywhere?

No - since it's the old plugin and GB only put a new graphical interface on it, you can only get it back by going back to an older GB version.
(And even that might not be true - I just opened an old GB version, put the MultiBandCompressor on a fee slot and got the same new interface. Personally, I like the new graphic version better, the old one only had numbers that you cold enter, right?)
