Old podcasts not showing on ipod

hi i recently got a replacement ipod and for some reason i can't get all my old podcasts (that are on itunes still) onto my ipod.
can anyone help please?

I finally found a page in Apple's support pages that describes exactly this...right after I posted the question. Go figure!

Podcasts not showing in ipod podcast library

Since getting my new PC and transferring my library across my podcasts no longer show within the Podcast library on my ipod, they do show correctly on iTunes, they are only shown in the music library which is hardly convenient.
I have updated my ipod software to the latest version to see if that corrected it but it hasnt, I have reset the ipod settings on the player itself and that hasnt made any difference.
My movies, music videos and TV shows all show as snormal just not the podcasts.
Anyone else come across this? Anyone else got any suggestions on how to fix this, or know how to resolve this issue?

Recheck the podcast settings the next time you connect to your PC. Sometimes the setting defaults back to not syncing any podcasts. This happened to me once. For no reason I couldn't get my podcasts loaded on my ipod. I checked my settings and I had to reset it. No problems since then.

Selected podcasts not showing on ipod

Please help me, I'm having nightmares!
I have a 60GB ipod (video) and have not had any problems with it until recently... I've been subscribed to a podcast for some time now and even though I can see all episodes in iTunes certain episodes will not copy to my iPod. I have plenty of free space. I have done the 5Rs, and I have changed the drive name of my iPod. I've also tried to drag the episodes from itunes into my ipod but with no luck. I've had a pretty good scout round the questions already asked and tried some of the solutions that worked for others but it's not quite worked for me yet...
Please help me!

When you connect your iPod, you should see your summary page... it has a picture of the iPod, along with the name, serial number, software version, capacity, and format.
If you do not see this, click on your iPod's name below the Devices section of your source list (left-hand column of iTunes).
Along the top where you see the word Summary you should also see a tab labeled "Podcasts". Click on it, and make sure your settings are set to sync all episodes of instead of sync all unplayed episodes, or something to that effect.

Podcasts not showing on ipod

I've just bought an ipod and i am having trouble getting podcats to show up on it. I have been into preferences and made sure that auto update is checked for podcasts and videos bought i can't seem to fing them on the ipod at all. I have checked that i am using the most up to date software also.
Can anyone help???????

sure I did.
I virtually do it daily.
and it's regularly registered and all.
What I can add is that those avi files cannot be uploaded into the liibrary even if I save gthem *externally* and then add them to the library as if they hadn't been downloaded from the iTunes store

It looks like part of the crash report is missing. But at the top of your message it states there's an issue with the xmlTextReader in Pages. I guess this means Pages is having trouble opening, closing or saving the document.
If this only happens with one Pages document then it may just be corrupt.
If this happens with any Pages document then I'd suggest deleting Pages, reinstalling it from DVD/Mac App Store, updating it and then trying to work with a document.
If this doesn't answer your question please provide more information eg what steps to take to cause the problem, if it happens with one or many documents, if you get any error message at all, etc.

My Ipod is Classic is not showing any podcasts which I have downloads either on the library within itunes or on the ipod but is showing in the syncing section some 3300 plus podcasts but even after syncing they are noty showing on the library or on the Ipod am missing a step here as I have ticked all before syncing ??

I have sorted it myself!!
Ipod is now in the top right corner, last time I clicked on it, it ejected it but by clicking on the actual ipod icon then it brings up your ipod. I restored it to factory settings and synced all my music and it now works again. Hope this can help anyone who ends up with the same problem.

Video podcasts not showing up on iPod

Since the recent update of my iPod, my video podcasts are not syncing to my iPod. When I sync with iTunes, I have all the podcasts (both audio and video) selected to sync but only the audio podcasts are available to me via my iPod. What's going on here?

OK, so there they are in a new place. Would have been courteous for Apple to give some clue that they were moving things around. Especially because the video podcasts still show up in iTunes in the same place as the audio podcasts, same as before. Thanks for tip, lllaass.

Podcasts not showing up on ipod...

So I have some video podcasts that have been downloaded successfully and currently reside in my Library under "podcasts." They all work. For some reason however, on my ipod, they do not show up. I look under videos > video podcasts: nothing. I look under Podcasts in the main menu, and nothing. I tried clicking on the settings tab in the podcast window in itunes, but those settings dont seem to affect what goes onto my ipod...so what's going on?

Which iPod shuffle model do you have? This document shows the four types.

1st and 2nd gen work a bit differently from 3rd and 4th gen.
Assuming it's the current 4th gen shuffle (or 3rd gen), podcasts on the shuffle do not play from the All Songs list. You need to use the VoiceOver feature to select the podcast from the playlist menu. This document shows how to set up and use VoiceOver.

NOTE: If you put podcast episodes on playlist in iTunes, and sync that playlist to the shuffle, the podcasts will only play if the shuffle's power switch is set to the play-in-order (middle) position.

Extended Podcasts not showing all images

I just noticed that the extended podcasts that I have, which include a number of images, only show the first image during the playing of the podcast. On the iPhone or iPod Touch, the same podcasts will sequence through the added images as necessary.
Has anyone else seen this? Is there a preference that needs to be changed? Some other fix?

I'm seeing the same thing with enhanced podcasts on my iPad. Initially I thought it might just be the enhanced podcasts I created some time ago, but I've since downloaded an enhanced podcast from early last week. Seeing the same problem in a more recent enhanced podcast.
Chapters are working fine, but the images are not changing. Both enhanced podcasts work fine on the most recent iTunes.
On perhaps a related note I am seeing other image issues in the iPod app on iPad (album art not showing up correctly, random album images showing up).

Suddenly, when I download video podcasts from iTunes app on my iPhone they are not showing up in my iPod videos.
Anyone else having this problem?

I had this same problem. I had to delete iBooks, then reinstall it from the app store. When I opened iBooks after the reinstall my book was waiting there.

Watched Video Podcasts Not Showing As Watched

Video Podcasts that I've definitely watched from beginning to end on my iPod Touch are not showing up in iTunes as being watched. I know this for sure because I have a smart playlist in iTunes called "Unwatched Podcasts" which basically lists all the video podcasts that have a play count of 0. Why is my iPod Touch not incrementing the play count by one when I watch these podcasts?

Actually, they are. I don't know if it only works if you play the video podcasts with the iPod Touch docked, but if I let the video podcasts run all the way to the end, automatically returning me to the Videos menu, then yeah the play count goes up and when I sync those podcasts are removed from my Unwatched Podcasts playlist. Good stuff.

Video podcasts not showing video?

Okay, I'm a little confused here.
I downloaded some podcasts (okay I downloaded hundreds), including some video ones.
Now when I go under iTunes there's the little tv logo by them, and when I click the video does play just like any other video.
But when I go to watch the podcast on my iPod (brand new 30 GB with video), it plays just the audio. It looks like watching a normal audio pocast, with a little still image where album artwork normally shows up.
It's not like my iPod has trouble with videos -- the television shows and music videos I downloaded from iTunes store all work perfectly fine. It's just my podcasts.
The particular video podcasts I downloaded are the Disney Channel DCOM extras, Star Wars on Cinemax, and Formula D.
Please help, I really want to watch these videos but my computer is too sluggish with iTunes to watch them on there!

Video podcasts not showing in podcast menu

my video podcasts are not showing up on ipod touch when I sync. They are on the ipod, cause when I search, they show up under podcast header (so they are not mis-labelled as music or anything), but they do not show up in the podcast menu. This applies to all my video podcasts. I think its a bug.

Wow, that does work. There they all are but I think this is annoying, that I have to go to a seperate app to see my video podcasts, as apposed to aduio podcasts, in the podcast menu, but at least I can see them. Thanks!

Podcasts not showing up as podcasts

My podcasts do not show up under Podcasts on my Ipod. They only show up for a brief time under Playlists/Recently Added. They also do not show up if I use the search function on my Ipod. How do I get podcasts to show up as podcasts? Also, I have already marked all as new.

I don't know if this will help, but I was experiencing the same problem. Searching the discussions didn't help other than to confirm that I was not alone. So, I started poking around.

5th gen video iPod. on a Macbook Pro. iTunes 7.3.2. iPod 1.2.1
I had been manually copying podcasts to iPod. Noticed this weekend new podcasts weren't showing up under podcasts, some did show up under music, and videos weren't showing up at all.
My Solution:
selected iPod device. Selected Podcasts. Selected sync. (wasn't syncing before). choose a couple podcasts to sync. Clicked apply. podcasts synced. wiped out all my existing podcasts but the new ones showed up. Still no videos though. Chose Movies. chose sync. Got message something like "The iPod "<my iPod>" is synced with another iTunes Library. Do you want to erase this iPod and sync with this iTunes library." I chose no (cancel), because I didn't want to wipe everything out without thinking about it.
Now Podcasts and videos show up on the iPod.
