Old Pointer, Bad Video PlayBack, and "Optimizing volume "Mac HD"

Hi i have a ibook g3 clamshell indigo "Paris" Edition.
The Black Mac Mouse Pointer is the one from like OS 9 and OS X 10.1 its not the new one.
Also It works great with typing applications painting using the internet and listening to music in itunes 7. but when i go to youtube or try to watch any video it skips.
Also why when updating in panther it says "Optimizing volume "Mac HD"
Note: i have just erase and installed Panther.

Note: this is not my main computer it is a backup computer to check email or to have fun and sometimes a guest computer. My main computer its the MacBook listed below.

Unfortunately, the flash-based Youtube movies ask too much of the iBook hardware.

(OSX 10.3.9 at least for the current version), is able to play these files even on a 300MHZ Blueberry or Tangerine iBook in its original resolution. The option to skip frames should be activated.
If you own a 366MHZ or 466MHZ Clamshell with 8MB graphics try Youtube on OS9.
With the Mozilla-based OS9 Wamcom browser

(you have to place it manually in the wamcom plug-in directory) you are able to play them directly - the design and performance is still not perfect.

Video playback and Album covers in Cover album flow mode are a mess

After installing iTunes 7.02 the cover albums come through on albums with song group list, but in the Cover Flow mode where you browse through the album covers, the covers are made up of verticle and horizontal lines and nothing can be made out. Even the bar at the bottom that allows you to drag and flip through the covers has a hashed line look.
The video playback images are also messed up. basically I can see that there is an image moving but it's not interpretable. The sound comes through fine. The image basically looks like a whole bunch of little squares that are not aligned right.
Any suggestions

Hello to who ever can help a hand out. I feel very stressed by this whole problem. I have a documentary movie that has been finished and edited. I only had to add a couple more parts to it to finalize the film. However when i went on my computer today, (last time being last week. Where everything had worked properly) all the video playback is green. it has audio of all the video files, but the video shows up green in the playback and the viewer. Any idea what could have happened. (last week i added a 5 jpegs thats it!)
Please anybody with any suggestions, I would be very greateful.

Lots of folks with similar problems. Do your clips play ok in Quicktime Player ? have you done any updates lately.

Photoshop choppy 422 Video playback and export

In CS6, When editing Pro Res 422, Video with single layer plays back fine but with 3 layers playback and export are very choppy.
I tried merging layers but the video doesn't playback at all. Is there any other settings I could try?
CS6 memory usage is 100%, sound is turned of in TL. System MacPro -Quad Core Intel Xeon-Processor Speed 3 GHz, Memory 8GB.

I usually edit w FCP7. And My computer never had playback issues w 422 Pro Res files.
CS6 Memory was before on +- 55% and even the single layer video was playing back choppy. So I changed it to 100% not realy knowing what that means. At least the single layer video is playing now fine.

Nokia 5230 video playback and recording

I own the latest nokia 5230. The problem is :
1) When I doing video record using setting TV high quality and Widescr. high quality, it seems
     that my video skip on certain seconds. Using email high quality and below doesn't give any
     problems but the quality is very poor.
2) The problem also occured on playback. Realplayer can't play the skip second on recording
      and then run as normal back after certain time.
It happens all the time as long I used both video setting. I just want to know the solution for this or there is any video recorder software like ETI Camcoder in Nokia s60 series?

This could be caused by a slow memory card...try this to confirm...
backup your card data in pc, format your memory card..
then make video. .... i hope no bugs in video

Video playback and other issues

This might be a 10.6.4 issue or it could be hardware, I'm not sure.
*First Issue:*
Oftentimes, when I try to play video on my Macbook (stats included) the video hangs up and the audio skips like a bad record (remember records? ). This problem is particularly bad when playing videos from the internet but it persists even when the streaming bar is fully loaded in the browser. I took an online masters course this summer and constantly had this skipping issue so I thought it was Adobe and Apple not playing nice since their videos were Flash based. Now, I can see that the problem also occurs when trying to play Quicktime videos. I made an iweb site with a few videos and my Macbook can't seem to play them. However, when I go over to my Mac Mini it has no issues and it has the same processor in it and less RAM.
I know what your thinking; 'check the activity monitor.' I do check the activity monitor, constantly. When this problem occurs I'm never using more than 50% CPU and I usually have at least 1 GB of RAM available although the problem has manifested itself with a much as 2 GB of RAM available and minimal CPU usage.
This issue is starting to get worse and I've had a few kernal panics lately, which may or may not be related.
At the beginning of the summer I reinstalled the system from scratch to see if that would solve the issue; no such luck.
I thought is was the RAM so I tested it with Techtool Deluxe. No problems found with the RAM.
Now, this issue might be related to the second issue but I'll let you decide.
*Second Issue:*
This issue has been around for a long time and I've largely ignored it since all the forums I've been on don't know what to do/can't pin it down.
The issue is that the fan runs constantly at a high RPM no matter what I do.
Again, I check the Activity monitor consistently and I have it set so I can view "All Processes." No 'memory hogs' running.
I also have smsFanControl running and set for 1800 as the min speed.
Furthermore, my wife has the same model computer (only manufactured later) and hers runs whisper quiet while mine sounds like a wind tunnel.
In fact, as I type this I have 1.29 GB of RAM free, 97% of my processor is idle and I'm running at 65C with a fan speed of 6200 RPM.
Any thoughts on either of these two issues would be a help. Thanks

DaddyPaycheck thanks for the info. I am have 7 GB of RAM and my internet access is through cable. I never had this problem before with an older computer with the same internet connection. I am not sure what to do. I recently upgraded to the 30" monitor and a new video card. I purcheased another video card, the ATI Radeon X800XT, but I haven't installed it yet. I am not sure that this will fix my problem. I have all the latest updates for Quicktime and Windows media player. I actually does it when I am playing DVD's as well.

Bad video playback in all formats

I thought it was bad Netflix streaming but I put a DVD in and the same thing!
The motion is glitchy like bad stop-motion animation.
Anyone have any ideas?

I have successfully run Apple Hardware Test and it returned the error code...

A Google search reveals that this is a sensor error. The "V" of VPOR indicates a voltage sensor and the "P" indicates the sensor is on the Power bus. However don't yet know what the "OR" refers to.
I have had a non operative optical disk drive for a year or more but the fault with the video only developed in the last week or two. Could the "O" in VPOR refer to the Optical drive?
By the way, I got the impression from the instructions on running the Apple Hardware Test that I had to use the internal dvd drive to run the APT program from the install disk. But this turned out to be not the case. Just put install disk ito an external drive plugged into the usb ports and use system preferences to set this drive as the start up disk.

ITunes audio quickly begins to lag behind during video playback and only gets worse as playing continues.

I've tried updating my graphics drivers, fiddling with Quicktime, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. iTunes and my drivers are all as up-to-date as possible. Videos on my computer play in other players without any audio/visual synch problem, but all of the videos I bought in the iTunes store have this problem. When I pause a movie, the synch will be restored for a minute when I unpause it, but it has no lasting effect. This problem has essentially made all my movies unplayable, since DRM makes it impossible for me to use other programs - and oddly enough, the problem has only been happening in the last six months or so. Please, help if you can!

I guess not. That makes sense now. I was importing too quick for the longer clips. The shorter clips don't cause any trouble because they conform so fast. Old 5th gen video restoring and recognition problem

Briefly - 5th gen video colour screen 80gb ipod got soaked, died. Tried reviving today (over a year later) and found I could get to disk mode (after whacking it one on it's side - who knew?). Okay, tried restoring it through itunes who then gave me 1429 error message. I tried the various options for that error message until I got to restart your computer...now, although I can get the ipod into disk mode it is not being recognised by itunes. It appears in system information but nothing of any use is happening now, excepting it is 'alive' in disk mode and making a less clicky 'scratchy' sound and showing the battery being charged. Any advice? Help?

No more thoughts from anyone on the above??

Video playback and processing delays

I'm currently using a HP P6240f Desktop
When playing a video, the video portion will start and stop as it pleases, however, the sound will continue to play normally. Since the two are not in sync, I don't believe it to be a buffering issue. I currently use Comcast Business with the highest Internet speed available.
Now here is the strange part, as soon as I touch my mouse the video will immediately start playing again.
I checked my Adobe flash player and it is up to date and I have 8 gigs of ram and It doesn't matter how many programs I'm running. I also use Carbonite but this problem still occurs whether or not Carbonite is running in the background.
I've also noticed, that when things are loading, that to will stop, and start up once I touch my mouse.
Besides buying a new computer, does anyone have any suggestions.

Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
As well if you could include additional information such as whether this happens when you watch videos online or videos resident on your computer. If it is online videos what browser are you using? If they are downloaded videos or videos resident on your computer what player are you using to view them? I am assuming you are watching online videos based on your post, but I need to confirm to ensure I get an accurate picture of what is going on.

Problem with purchased video playback and app stability

Music videos I've purchased through the iTMS play for about 20 seconds then the audio stops, and about 5 seconds later the app crashes and returns me to the main menu or the phone reboots; this problem occurs only with a video I've purchased, as any other video or even podcast plays without a hitch. It's something I can recreate without problem, I just have to play a purchased video and it will crash the app.
I've tried doing a regular reboot and even a full restore, neither of which fixes the problem.
The applications in general seem stable for the most part, but sometimes I even have problems doing basic functions like browsing pictures in Photos, using Maps, or even typing up something in Notes.
Do I have a lemon or the start of one? Is there a solution that I've overlooked? What should I do if this is just hardware failure? I really, really enjoy my phone for the majority of it and it's something that I'm always discussing with my friends and family. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Video playback and loss of audio

I upgraded my 20gb gen 4 ipod to a gen 5 yesterday. I have some episodes of firefly that were already in "iPod format" when I got them from a friend. I had no trouble getting them to sync with the iPod and have had no trouble playing them except for the fact that a few seconds into an episode the screen freezes for a second and the audio drops off after it resumes play. I have tried several episodes with the same end result. If I get out of the episode (which all of them play perfect on the computer) and restart it from the place it messed up it will continue for another few seconds before dropping the audio. Anyone have a clue about this?? I am using clone dvd mobile to attempt to rip one of my dvds and see if that does the same thing, but I have no other media to add to ipod as of yet. Please let me know if you have experienced anything like this

If you have a red line over the timeline after importing a video and before adding any effects... your project is wrong for your video... read above about codecs
Once you know exactly what it is you are editing, report back with that information... and your project setting, and if there is a red line above the video in the timeline, which indicates a mismatch between video and project

No sound in video playback, and random mute button appears...

Hello all,
I recently bought a TV series (Bones, since you ask from the Itunes store, and I'm having a lot of problems with the sound. Apparently at random an episode won't play any audio, and next to it in the listing a loudspeaker icon appears. I have checked all the settings and can't find anything stopping the sound playing, and sometimes if I fiddle around for long enough it comes back. And I have no idea where this loudspeaker icon is coming from.
What on earth is going on, and why am I losing the audio? It is VERY annoying and taking me hours of messing around to fix

After installing the latest version 7.6 this happened to me. Uninstall Quicktime from your computer. And then install Quicktime 7.3 http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime731forwindows.html
This solved it for me. No need to uninstall itunes just Quicktime

Video (.img and .cdr) from mac to apple tv

I have a bunch of movies in either .img or .cdr format, created in iMovie and stored on my mac. Question is: how do I stream these to my new Apple TV? They are not in iTunes, they are sitting in a folder on the Mac. And if the answer is "you have to first move them to iTunes", then anyone know how I would do that?

I've been having many problems with Home Sharing on my ATV3 for the past few months, ever since the Yosemite Beta up 'til now, but today is the first time I'm having this same issue - where I only get a "Could not connect to [My] Library" message. I've turned Home Sharing off and on several times, reset routers (ATC and AE), restarted iTunes, reset my ATV... pretty much every web remedy out there. It was working decently just yesterday, and now I can't stream anything via Home Sharing. Airplay mirroring works, but I don't want to do that. I shouldn't have to.
