Old Purchased Songs?????

Hi, I got a new computer and now I dont have my old purchased songs that I got ages ago, How do I get them back on my new computer.

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

I have tried that as well. The purchased songs are not in my playlists and they are still there. I manually deleted them on the phone but the sync puts them right back on there.
I only sync playlists and they aren't on there.

as the long title states, my old (waaaay old purchased songs) tunes wont convert from the drm protected state to get into my new mp3 player. My new purchases synch no problem.
I have downloaded drivers,updates, addons etc from phillips with no luck.
The apple itunes site is confusing as **** for support questions.

Thank you for the response. I did indeed find the Itunes plus feature and when I clicked that it brought up an option to purchase drm free versions of an entire album of movie sound track songs that my ex had bought 6 years ago but I had no option to purchase drm free versions of the single track purchases that I had made years ago.
So instead of a bunch of great Pere Ubu, Suicide, and Killing joke tracks I wound up with drm free versions of Loyd Weber tracks.... I purchased the darn movie album hoping that maybe it would somehow apply to all my old songs but it did not.
My guess is that perhaps old songs purchased individually are not eligible for the plus service?
All I know is that now when I click on the itunes plus option it says I have no eligible Itunes plus songs available. Key word being eligible Im guessing, so 40 songs sit unusable.
I am going to hit up their customer service email thingee but I dont see having a happy ending.

I've lost my iPod so bought a new one and now I can't transfer my old purchased songs

I've purchased my new iPod and it won't let me move my old purchased songs from my iTunes to my new iPod. Is there anyway of getting around this or will I have to repurchase them? Thank you

If when you connect the iPod to your computer iTunes does not see the iPod then to get data off the iPod you need to go to a Data Recovery company. Not cheap.
However,
- If they are in an iPod backup (those in the iPod's Saved Photos/Camera Roll album are) then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:

- If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
- If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

You need to change back to UK account. All purchases are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > sign out and sign in your UK Apple ID

How to remove fairplay from old purchased songs?

As you know Apple removed DRM (Fairplay) from their songs some years ago. Is there anyway to remove Fairplay from songs bought before Apple removed the DRM? Or is possible to re-purchase without any kind of cost this old songs without Fairplay?

I was wondering that, but i supposed that Apple could has a procedure to manage this kind of situations taking in consideration that they removed the DRM only months after i purchased those songs.

To unhide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign in.
Choose Store > View My Account. (You may be asked to enter your password again).
On your Account Information summary, scroll down to the "iTunes in the Cloud" section and click Manage.
Choose a content type by clicking Music, TV shows, Apps, or Books from the top.
Click the Unhide button next to the item you would like to restore.
If they are not hidden they may have been purchased on a different apple id.

Old purchased song authorization

Recently, re-installed OS Lion. All data was restore succesfully, except one thing.
I cannot play a song that using my family video in iMovie, because the song isn't authorized by my computer....???
I purchased the song when I was on previous address, and I setup for Apple ID for an email address that cable company (RoadRunner: Time Warner).
I moved and don't have access to the email address any more.
I need the song for complete my family video, and I don't want to pay twice for the same song...
How should I solve this problem?

You don't need your old email address. Just authorize your computer to the account from which the song was purchased, using the original Apple ID and password.
At the first opportunity, upgrade your old DRM "protected" songs to iTunes Plus, so that you will not be dealing with authorization problems for the rest of your life.

ITunes Match just added old purchased songs, I don't want those songs anymore. I just want my music to be iTunes quality.

I purchased iTunes Match, and all I noticed that it did was pull songs I purchased from iTunes many years ago. Songs that I don't want anymore. I just want songs that weren't purchased from iTunes to get uploaded and converted to better quality. Did iTunes do this for me, and I just didn't see it? Or did I purchase something, and didn't get the expected results? How can I get iTunes to upload and convert my lower quality music?

That's odd for sure.
Anyway, first set the iPod to manage the songs manually.
Then, select the iPod in the source list of iTunes, and click on the "music" option underneath it to show all your songs. Highlight the song(s) you no longer want on the iPod, right click and select "clear". The songs should be deleted from the iPod.
Now you can change the iPod back to your auto sync preference.

Getting my old purchased songs from iTunes on my ipad to my iPhone.

On my purchased list of songs, there are only three or four songs that have the icloud symbol beside them. So I can't get the other songs onto my iPhone from my ipad. Can anyone help?

Are you looking on your iPhone in the iTunes app by tapping More at the bottom, then Music>Purchased>Not on This iPhone (at the top)?

Lost Itunes Purchased music ... Can you download old purchased songs?

I just lost my entire music catalog and am trying to download my purchases that I have made with the iTunes music store. Anyone have any idea how to do this or if theres some kind of support number to call. I know you can view your purchase history on iTunes but how do you download them again if youve already paid

You may not want to "hold your breath", but my music library was restored free of charge by apple in less than 12 hours!
Just send them an email or contact customer support by phone (they're very helpful).
Do be sure to back up your files because they tell me they can only do this once.
Also visit an Apple store if you can, they have "genius bars" in them which feature Apple employees that will provide free technical support and answer your questions!!
See if you can get that kind of support the next time you purchase a PC from Frys...

Cannot playback purchased songs from old ID

Hi,
I have about 200 songs in my library which I purchased in 08/09 using an old ID/password for my macbook.
I bought a macbook pro in late 09 and successfully transferred my library. I also created a new Apple ID / password and have had no problem happily purchasing and playing songs under this new ID/password ever since..
Then a couple of weeks ago I tried to play one of the old purchased songs and a drop down told me I couldn't play the song as the computer wasn't authorised as the song was purchased under my old ID/password(the ID is a dead email address and I just cannot remember the password).
Any idea on how I can access these songs?
Like I said everything was fine up until a couple of weeks ago...It's almost like it happened overnight...
any suggestions would be welcome..
