Old purchases vs new apple-ID...

I know there are quiet a lot of topics addressing this problem, I've searched tons of forums and other discussions, but I can't seem to find an answer. Maybe there simply isn't one, but I'm going to try anyway.
Situation:
- somewhere in May 2012, I created a new Apple ID. I don't think (don't really remember) I deleted my old one, since I read somewhere that you have to specifically e-mail or phone Apple to do that and I'm pretty sure I didn't do that.
- somewhere in 2013, I bought a new computer.
- I wanted to authorize my songs I had bought with the old Apple ID (right click on a song, get info, "bought with Apple ID: on my new computer
- iTunes prompted me to authorize them with my old Apple ID, I tried every possible password I have ever used, but none of them worked.
- so I changed the automatically filled in Apple-ID field to my new Apple ID. When I did that, I got a message saying: "this computer is already authorized". Bingo, I thought. I pressed play... and iTunes again asked to authorize the computer, with my old Apple ID automatically filled in...
- so there I was: old apple ID didn't work, new apple ID seemed to work... but didn't. I can't play my old songs.
What I already did:
- had a look at my "Purchase History" in iTunes: only goes back to May 2012, to when I created my new Apple ID, so I can't delete and re-download songs that are bought with my old Apple ID, since they're not in my Purchase History.
- tried to "find back" my old Apple ID-password to authorize my songs with that ID, which didn't seem to work in iTunes. So went to iforgot.apple.com, filled in my old Apple ID address and asked for E-mail notification. Loged in to but never got an e-mail to reset my password. I checkd EVERY e-mail account I've ever used, but a password e-mail from Apple was nowhere to be found. While I was there in my old e-mail inbox I found all the iTunes receipts for my old Apple ID purchases (e-mails from 2008, 2009...). So I have proof I bought them, the receipts are there, order numbers and everything; would be nice if I could just reclaim the songs based on those receipts, but looked around online and that seems no option (correct me if I'm wrong).
- tried to "find back" my old Apple ID-password, went to iforgot.apple.com, filled in my old Apple ID address and asked to answer "Security Questions". Filled in my date of birth... and got a message that "my date of birth didn't match their records"...
- contacted iTunes support. Got a very fast answer saying I should better call someone in my country to give Apple Support by phone (Belgium)
- called Apple Support. Got a very friendly person saying I should better e-mail someone from iTunes support, since this wasn't really a phone-thing...
So here I am with about 80 songs I bought with an old Apple ID which I cannot play on my new computer... The songs are not automatically transfered to my new ID (which, as I read somewhere, should have happened), I can't seem to access my old Apple ID, since that seems "to be gone" (who knows where?) and the support people are sending me from e-mail support to phone support and back to square one...
So, dear Apple-people. Any suggestions here, since I can't think of anything else anymore...

Why would you have to make a new id?
You can use the same Apple id for as many devices/computers as you like.

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Wow... you seriously over paid for an iPhone.
That probably explains why you have/had no clue you were purchasing a locked device and think it's an Apple problem to get it unlocked.

Thanks for prompt response - I tried what you suggested but I'm afraid it has not helped. It seems as though the line of number keys along the top aren't actually doing what is printed on them. Some are OK, but the further towards the right hand side of the keyboard you go, the less predicatable it becomes. So whilst the second key from the left gives me 1 and ! when holding the shift key, by the time I get to the 6 when I press and hold shift I get ^ rather than & symbol which is what is actually printed on the key. The & symbol is actually on the next key along - and when I hit the key with 8 I get * rather than the ( which is printed on they key but actually located on the next key along. Things get even more muddled by the time I am over on the right hand side as rather than a question mark (I have had to type the word as I cannot find the symbol anywhere!) I get this _ and the other symbol marked on the key is a comma, but I get - instead. It is going to drive me mad if every time I want to type something it is a guessing game....! What do you suggest - question mark

The license for any OS purchased at the app store is tied forever to the Apple ID used to purchase it - if you want to download it on another computer, you will need to use the same Apple ID you used to purchase it. That cannot be changed.
You can also purchase it again with a new Apple ID......

How to get old purchases on new computer

I purchased a new PC Win7 based. Loaded iTunes and now need to know how to load/find all my prior purchases.

What you can re-download depends partly on what country you are in. As long as they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes as you originally used to buy/download then, them ibooks and apps can be re-downloaded for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . You should also be able to re-download music and tv shows if you are in the US. Films are a one-time only download.

Otherwise have you got a backup of your content on, for example, an external drive or CDs/DVDs that you can copy onto your new computer and then load into its iTunes.

Associate purchases with new Apple ID

I had anApple ID that I have purchased a ton of apps and music with and then got a mobile me account and am now using the mobile me account as my Apple ID. Is there a way to associate my old purchases with the new account and disable the old apple ID.

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

If the new computer did not originally ship with Snow Leopard installed, no, you will not be able to go back from Lion. Snow Leopard lacks the necessary drivers required for newer hardware.

Doomed to purchase a new Apple TV every year?

I purchased an Apple TV in Germany a little more than one year ago, and brought it with me to Malaysia, where I currently live. It just stopped to work, and I cannot find any support in the Apple Support topics. My wireless network at home works just fine, but the Apple TV refuses to connect to it. After unplugging it, it tries to set the date and time for minutes, then switches off. It does not even recognize the remote's signals.
As Apple TV is not distributed (therefore not supported) in Malaysia, and because the warranty period just ended, am I doomed to purchase a new one? Is this supposed to happen every year? I understand that its unit price is not very high, but it will be costly over the years. I must say that I am quite disappointed by Apple this time (after purchasing 2 iPods, one iPad, one iPhone and the latest iMac).

How to transfer old purchases to new computer?

We had a computer with a lot of downloaded movies, albums, singles, etc. and that computer is no longer working so we got a new one and I was wondering if anyone knows a way to get my purchase history onto my new computer without rebuying anything.

Restore it from a backup, put the old computer's hard drive into an enclosure and copy the files off, use the Transfer Purchases function in iTunes if they're on an iPod or similar Apple device, or click here and ask.
