Old servers & SMC3.61

We have a fresh install of SMC 3.61 on a Solaris 10 box. We have a mixed SUN environment here with a number of older EOL SUN servers (V480,B1600 blade chassis,...) running Solaris 8,9 & 10. Can you configure SMC3.61 to monitor the older EOL equipment with the older agents??
Trying to monitor the old stuff unitl it disappears.

Hi dcshear,
Can you configure SMC3.61 to monitor the older EOL equipment
with the older agents?? Trying to monitor the old stuff unitl it disappears.Yes, it works, it's just not listed as "supported". But I wouldn't be surprised if that changes because there's so much older Sun gear still in the field doing real work...
3.6.1 has all the monitoring bits for the older hardware still packed in, so it will work out-of-the-box. The only pieces they actually removed were for the E10k and the old E3000-E6500 line... but soon after 3.6 came out they added that code back in as a supplement:
http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=4458cd2e
I've got 3.6.1 monitoring an old Ultra 80 under my desk (keeps my feet warm during the Canadian winters, eh?)... and it works perfectly... even though it's not "supported" any more.

  • Want to install CE10 on a new server, using the old servers config

Does anyone have a quick and easy set of instructions on how to do this? I have tried this several different ways with several different errors. Each time, I simply get to a dead end, and uninstall-reinstall on the new server.
I have tried the import wizard, starting from scratch, everything.

    Hi Joe,
Are most of the issues you're encountering related to scheduling?  If they are,  some of the items that come to mind are:
    -  Database connections (ODBC, native clients, etc...)
    -  If the scheduled jobs are based off of Events,  make sure you take note of the events/triggers and that they exist.
    Please add additional information.

  • Deleting old SMTP servers from the iphone

    Dear Friends,
I have 3GS. While I was creating my e-mail accounts on the phone I made mistakes
and after creating these accounts, I deleted. Now I have a new account which works well. But on the "other SMTP servers" there are old servers still exist with the same account name. How should I delete them? Thanks in advanced.

Maybe everyone has this figured out by now, but seems to be a recurring question.
In Settings/Mail/(account)/Account Info/Outgoing Mail Server, select the one you don't want and click the big red "Delete Server" button at the bottom of the screen. Seemples:-)

  • Default domain policy got corrupted and can't reverse to old system state?

Initially we had two servers which was 2003 and 2008, after adding additional two more servers (server 2012) in the network and then demoted the old servers. and that was quite while ago. after carefully looking a the default policy I have noticed that there
so many policies was applied on default policy object which led me to disable them and created a backup for both domain controller and the domain policy.
now the problem is stupidly run
dcgpofix  thought it will restore the domain policy to it's original state but it did not instead it came up with an empty default policy template and inside there is no security policy which i can edit. However i did tried to restore the old policy which
i backed up but i get an access denied error.
Now i realise that the original default policy was from server 2003 and the current schema domain functional level is 2012.  Currently
I can not login to any newly added computers to the domain via domain administrator account.
Please help! Is there any way to create a new default domain policy?

    Hi thanks for your input,
but that doesn't resolves my issue. However I have managed to fix it by modifying the Default policy systemflags and then run the command gpfixup.exe /ignoreschema /target :domain.com.
and after that I was able to restore my old gp from earlier backup.

  • What's the best way to replicate the contents of servers?

Here's the situation. Got a client who wants to take his 5 existing servers - one a general file/app server, one an email (probably Exchange) server, one running MS SQL, and I'm not sure about the roles of servers 4 and 5. Needless to say, he wants to take
the existing servers and relocate them to his home. He also wants to replace the servers with new versions.  The old servers are running an older version of Windows Server (assuming 2003 but could be newer) - but he IS willing to spend money upgrading
    the OS if need be.
He wants to take the 5 servers and replicate the contents from the old servers to the new ones. Then periodically update the old group with the updated data on the new group - so in case of disaster, he can quickly either move the old servers back to his
office OR at least recover the data quickly by way of a sync session.
What is the best way to go about this? Will he need to upgrade the OS on the old servers to make it happen? Money isn't much of an obstacle.

Here's some info on migrating the file server.

For exchange migration I'd ask them here.

The sql should be faily simple backup / restore but better to ask them over here.

  • CSS11501 - URL Redirect for Multiple Servers For Both Ports 80 & 443

Can the CSS rules be configured such that it can be used to direct requests to different Web servers based upon,
    URL path?
For Both Ports 80 & 443/HTTPS (with SSL Certificate running on the back-end servers)
    For example:
    http://app.ti.com/path1/file.html goes to Web servers A & B -> old servers
    https://app.ti.com/path1/file.html goes to Web servers A & B -> "
    http://app.ti.com/path2/file.html goes to Web servers C & D -> new servers
    https://app.ti.com/path2/file.html goes to Web servers C & D -> "
We're trying to understand what are plans are for a phased migration from old site to new site, and if it requires new URLs ???
Fort port 443, since the CSS is load balancing SSL encrypted traffic, is the means that the CSS can’t look at URL thus this is not possible?
    Please help, thanks.

    Hi Martin,
    1) Clients are using http://domain/, thus I need to define url "//domain/.." as you have stated.
    2) I'm still waiting for the "actual" URL paths from the application team in order to decide which method to use - Regexp vs URLQ definition - to begin testing.
I know I have limited memory resource (as listed below) & will try not to make it complicated:

  • EREC: Copy data from servers

    Hello Experts,
I'm a project which the main scope is install new servers for E-Recruiting.
My question is, how can I copy Candidate's data from the old E-recruiting server to new one? Is there any standard report or recomendation from SAP?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
what do you mean with new and old servers. Are you just changing the hardware or is the old system non-SAP? Some more details would really help here.

  • Copy from running database-servers

I have a system with several oracle database servers (different versions). Four of the servers make a replication among themselves (multimaster).
Now a new database server is to be "developed", which stores the data of all the old servers redundantly. All servers run on Linux.
I'm looking for a way (best with oracle standard tools / features), how to copy the data to the new server, without having to stop the old databases.
Is there a way to do that?
    Thanks in advance

  • Upgrade 6.1 to 7.1 on new servers

Hi, i cannot find information on how to make an upgrade from callmanager 6.1 using old servers to callmanager 7.1 with new 7835 servers.
Do anyone knows what is the process or can guide me with the link where lies the procedure. I wonder how do i upload the 6.1 configuration on the new 7.1 servers.
Thank you all for your time.
    Thanks

I have CUCM 7.1(3b)SU2 [7.1.3.32900-4]. It was upgrade from 7.1(3b) [7.1.3.30000-1] during installation. The subscriber has been added successfully but when I run Unified CM Cluster Overview Report it shows me a Unified CM Component Version mismatch for more than one component. In fact the mismatched component is not installed at all on the subscriber. This will affect the call process if I forced to IP phones to register on the subscriber.

  • Mixed environment 10.6.4 and 10.5.8 servers

We have three Intel Xserves running 10.6.4 Snow Leopard server. One is an open directory master and the other two are replicas. The three servers main duties is AFP/network homes with a mix of other services.
We have two older PPC G5 Xserves that we replaced with Intel this summer.
We still want to use the older servers in some capacity. I am still learning, and was not sure about mixing server operating systems.
If I would add the PPC servers, the 10.5.8 server is the highest operating system we can install. I do not believe, they cannot be OD replicas with 10.6.4 correct?
So when setting up the old servers, I think there is an option to just add the server to the directory. Is this what I want to do?
Can I have network homes on the old servers? Would I use WGM on the newer 10.6.4 servers and then point the home folders to the AFP shares on the older servers.
Will the network homes on the older 10.5.8 servers play nice if the client computer is running Snow Leopard?

No, they can not be replicas
So when setting up the old servers, I think there is an option to just add the server to the directory. Is this what I want to do?
Yes. They become "domain members" much like workstations, but all services are Kerberized, much like connecting a Mac server to AD.
Can I have network homes on the old servers? Would I use WGM on the newer 10.6.4 servers and then point the home folders to the AFP shares on the older servers.
Yes. All that is required in AFP and proper domain binding.
Will the network homes on the older 10.5.8 servers play nice if the client computer is running Snow Leopard?
Yes. The dependency is AFP. 10.5.8 and 10.6.4 AFP appear to play very nicely together.
    Hope this helps

  • Any suggestions for virtualising servers with 1GB RAM

    Hi Guys
I now have 5 old servers with < 1GB RAM so p2v fails. Has anyone else had this issue and how do you get round it without having to try and source old, out of date RAM? Any help, suggestions appreciated. This might sound crazy but the only thing I can think of at the moment is to virtualise them into a VM environment then export them out and into the Oracle VM environment.
    Richard

You can use a Knoppix to boot the physical server and transfer the filesystems you wish to migrate.
    Reference prior posting,
    P2V
There are number of advantages vs the "linux p2v" method.

  • How to replace Lync Edge serverswith new servers(hardware)?

Our company have two Lync Edge servers, which are in one Lync Edge pool. Now, we plan to replace them with new  Lync Edge servers, new hardware. Thus, i would like to know: How to make sure the transition is smooth? Do you have any related article/KB?
I have some questions about this, for example:
    1. should we create new Edge  pool for the new servers?
    2. Can we have the four servers exist for some time before we remove the old servers?
    Please advice. Thanks!

    Deara Ben,
Thanks for your kindly reply on this issue. Sorry for the delay rely due to China Mid-Autumn Festival.
I prefer to the second option--add new servers into the old pool, because i think this is easier than option 1. My implement and test plan is below, do you think it is feasible??
    1. Prepare
1.1 Add two windows servers(A and B), configure external IP (Ex_IP_A and Ex_IP_B) and internal IP for everyone.
1.2 Add new servers into current Lync Edge pool, then publish topo and import the topo file into new servers
    1.3 Install Lync Server components
    1.4 Import and assign cert
1.5 Check service status, make sure services work well
    2. Test
2.1 Open related ports for both new server, on internal firewall and external firewall.
2.2 Apply new internet IP for new server, configure " NAT enabled public IP" for both servers in topology builder(Pub_IP_A and Pub_IP_B) here, then publish the topo.
    2.3 Configure NAT on external Firewall(Pub_IP_A<--->Ex_IP_A; Pub_IP_B<--->Ex_IP_B)
2.4 On the client, modify the local hosts file,
add below DNS record(Pub_IP_A   Sip.domain.com ), log in Lync client then test whether
    server A works well.
2.5 On the client, modify the local hosts file,
add below DNS record(Pub_IP_B   Sip.domain.com ), log in Lync client then test whether
    server B works well.

  • Home server undertaking, NFS, PXE boot, 6 servers

Hey all, I have few old servers I like to play around with, and a main home server. My main one, which is a supermicro tower with 7 36 gb scsi320 drives, dual dual-core xeons. I have 5 poweredge 2600's that aren't in use due to my limitation of networking equipment, but I want to set up an NFS with pxe boot daisy chaining the poweredges to my supermicro. is this possible, and any advice?
    i'm reading https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … t_NFS_root and trying one tonight.

I think you need to have a subnetting system worked out, having a network of more networks and less hosts. So that you can "route" between each machine on either side of the network, effectively making a token ethernet.  But then it's going to get confusing if you actually try to complete the circle.  You could use iptables on each machine, one NIC would have a fixed address, serving dhcp to the PXE client machine.  So when you boot up a new PXE client, have it boot from the original server, maybe a copy of the same kernel in the /var/tftpboot directory on the main server and in the PXE client's same directory, but the root filesystem still accessed from the main server across the iptables and subnet.  Using pxelinux.cfg rules, you could have it set, to boot (possibly in fixed order) downline with the different configurations to get them to work.  I think you will be troubleshooting network bottlenecks, because no matter how you do it, it will eventually all go back to the main server.  Any errors in implementation will of course propogate across the network and cause problems.
Ditto, just get a hand-me-down switch from somewhere.

  • Farm servers replacement

Having a APP (b1) Server and WFE (w1) and SQL in a production environment
For various reasons I'm thinking about replacing the existing servers with some new ones with a newer OS etc...
    The steps in that:
    Build 2 new servers  Srv1 + Srv2
Install SharePoint and the latest CU's on each (making sure that on Srv1 there's is marked 'yes' in it should host the CA)
Make them part of the existing farm (SharePoint then copies the IIS Websites, assemblies, features etc. etc. to the 2 new servers) - what happens when there's already a server that host the CA?
Verify both servers is part of the farm in the "servers in farm"
Configure the respective services on the new servers
Stop all the services on b1 and w1
Remove the servers b1 and w1 in "manage servers in farm"
Am I wrong or missing something?

    Hi,
    Generally the steps are correct.
You need to patch both new servers to the same level as the two old servers, including Language Packs(if there are any) in order to join them to the farm.
About your question there is no issue with running CA application on two or more servers. Check this article for high available CA configuration. You may need to edit the registry.
    http://www.harbar.net/articles/spca.aspx
Watch for any changes that were done directly in the IIS because you will need to configure them manually on the new servers. This article can be helpful

  • Nokia Massaging and email servers changing

    Hi
I'm using nokia masseging service, it good and pritty halpfull but I've notice one thing which are not really best decision:
In nokia masseging service I have two mail acounts 1- my private gmail account and 2 is my corporate mail account,
all was working fine, but now my company uses the google services and all my corporate mail now automaticly forwarded on google services. So now I didn't recieve aby of my email letters becouse my nokia massaging uses old servers and i can not manually change the incoming and outgoing servers in my nokia massaging service, is there any posobility to change them
my old adress was @bzb.com and now   @bzb.com.test-google-a.com if you know how working google services You will undrestand couse old mail is still backuping.

    Hi Icusnik,
I am sorry there is no real way for you to fix this on your own currently in Nokia Messaging. You could email support
(http://www.nokiausa.com/support?m=i) tell them your problem and ask them to change the information for you.
To good news is that I know that functionality to change account information for already set up accounts is supposed to be supported in the next version of Nokia Messaging. This means that if you have an account on Nokia Messaging but your backend server information gets changed (Which sounds like is what happened for you) you will be able to modify the settings yourself.
Sorry though, I don't know when the next version will be out.
