Old shares still turning up in afp

We have just moved office and upgraded the xserve we have (XServe Intel 10.4.11) with two internal HDs. At our old office we used two external FW disks. Well, even though we deleted all old share points from Workgroup manager, where they have subsequently disappeared, they all suddenly reappear when you connect with any FTP software. This means all our FTP clients get to see the names of old deleted folders (represented with a white icon with the alias symbol on it) and also aliases to the old disks which are not even connected any more. How do we remove these icons? And where are they stored?

All the music in itunes has a little footprint beside it. My old phone - 3GS has all my music there and playing fine. But if I try to synch with itunes it says it will synch from itunes to iphone and so am worried I will lose all my music from iphone too. New iphone has synched fine in every other way - contacts apps etc. But no music! I would be grateful if anyone has any tips to get my music back into itunes. - I had previously backed it all up on a mobile hard drive but can't find the option to import all my music from there ..it was a while ago so won't be evverything. Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

I had this same issue and got it resolved very simply when I contacted Apple SUpport
Go to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and sign into your infomation
> Go to Manage apple id and primary email address
> Change it to the old apple id that your device is asking for
> Save changes
> Go to Settings > iCloud and sign out of the infomation
> Go back to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
> Change it back to the correct apple id
> Go to the email address adn reverify the apple id
> Sign back into iCloud on your device

I have looked at icloud.com/find numerous times and my iPad is not showing at all (see picture below). As I said I did turn off 'Find My iPhone' on my iPad and then erase all settings and data before taking it to the repair centre.
The gentleman at the repair centre said that the device won't restore because "Apple thinks that 'Find My iPhone' is still turned on" (I'm repeating what he said).

I got a replacement battery, reset the SMC, and my computer will still turn off unexpectedly.

Early 2011 15" Macbook Pro, 2ghz iz, C0*****F8V.
My original battery wore down to the point where it would not be recognized as available and the computer couldn't power on without shutting down in a few minutes. I ordered a replacement battery, certified Apple genuine, but after 3 days it reached about half charge and the computer died, not turning back on without the adapter. When it did reboot the battery was at 0% and not charging, and the computer was incredibly slow and laggy.
I refunded and returned this battery and got a new one. I've had it installed about 2 days and the computer will still turn off if not plugged in at about 80-85%. I have reset my SMC multiple times and my PRAM as well. coconutBattery says nothing is wrong with the battery.
What can I do? I'm a freelance video editor and this is basically calling me out sick from work for a week now.

At any rate, the bottom line is that the MBP does not like your battery even though the output information that you provided does not indicate anything adverse. An Apple battery should correct your problem, I would think, but there is an alternative that I came across yesterday that you might consider. OWC. a Mac oriented vendor, is now selling replacement batteries for MBPs.

Based on the reputation of the company, I personally would be willing to try their non-Apple branded replacement. I have dealt with them a fair amount, so my statement is from experience. Note that is has a 1 year guarantee as do the Apple batteries. ( I will need a replacement for my 2010 MBP and I will probably purchase it from them)

As far as I know, deleting the messages on the iPad should not affect them on the iPad. I delete messages on one device and it doesn't affect the messages on the other device since they are stored locally on the device. And ... I am using my iPhone number as the contact address on both devices,
You can create another ID for texting on the iPad, but it's not an absolute must. You just need to use your Apple ID email address, or any other working email address for that matter - as the contact at address on the iPad for texting. As long as you use the iPhone number on the phone and the email address on the iPad, texting paths shall never cross.

As long as iMessage is enabled and the old phone is connected to a WiFi access point, it will continue to receive iMessage texts. It won't receive non-iMessage texts nor will it receive any calls.

Yesterday I was about to go out, I picked up my iPod and it somehow managed to jump out of my hands hit my foot and land on the floor. The screen popped out immediatly after it hit the floor. I'm not even sure if I tried putting the screen on the correct way. I just tried connecting the LCD cable and snap it shut, I did eventually manage to get it shut, but the screen was still loose. How can I get my screen back and working again? Please help!

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

Thanks, glad it helped you to check your battery status.
Something else to look at would be the cycle count, as you mention that your computer is "ancient". If you have a high number of cycles, it may also be a sign that the battery is tired and possibly nearing it's life span, and may possibly need to be replaced soon. If you see that again you may try a SMC reset to see if that helps, but if it continues you may need a new battery at some point. The battery icon will usually say needs service, or something to that effect. For the later MBP's Apple claims a life span of up to 1000 cycles, of this also will be dependent on who the battery is used, on the older ones I'm not quite sure what the claims were, and I don't know how old "ancient" in your case actually means.
I provide this for your info, so that you understand what may possibly be occurring.

It can still connect to Wifi in Lost Mode. As long as you do not erase it, you will be able to track it via Find My iPhone. And even if you erase it, the Activation Lock will prevent the thief from ever being able to use it:

1) Is it a video clip? Something you recognize? To be clear, it's displaying at a point in your exported movie but doesn't appear at all in the sequence?
2) What are your sequence settings? Right-click your sequence and choose "Item Properties" to verify.
