Old Sony e-Reader

Does anyone have a copy of "Digital Editions" for the SONY e-Reader model PRS-505, released 7/23/08?

Hi Paul,
You can download the Adobe Digital Editions software from the below link.
http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=PRS505&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downl...
The Software is available for Windows XP and Windows Vista 32 bit Operating System.
The Sony eBook Library v3.0 software incorporates the functionality of the Adobe Digital Editions software therefore, it is not necessary to use the Adobe Digital Editions software.
Use the eBook Library v3.0 software to download, organize and transfer all of your content.

  • Installed airport 3 computers work fine, my old sony laptop is asking for network wep key or wpa key. I tried wpa2 but that won't work and my password

I Installed AirPort Extreme 3 computers work fine.  I am trying to use my old sony laptop. It is asking for a network key. I entered wpa2. I also tried my password. What should I do?

Which wireless security type did you configure your AirPort Extreme with? You basically have two choices: WPA Personal or WPA2 Personal. There are actually others, but these are the most common in use today.
What version of Windows is the Sony laptop running and which service pack level is it at? Do you know what wireless security types that this laptop's wireless can support?

http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-k800i-c-28_168.html You can order the LCD screen for the K800 from here--I've used them before and their service is excellent. There are also some P1i spares on the same website. As far as I know, SE doesn't actually supply such spares.

  • Can I transfer 11 books on my original Sony Digital Reader to my PRST-1 Sony Reader?

Some of my books are in my newer PRST-1 Sony Reader but 11 are stuck in the older Sony Digital Reader and I want to move them into the newer one.
Can I transfer the 11 books that are on my original Sony Digital Reader to my newer Sony PRST-1 Reader so that all of my purchased books are in there?
If so, do I need Digital Editions? Or should I use the Sony software?
I cannot recall the Adobe ID associated with my Sony Reader account and lost any information in my old computer for tracking that down. Perhaps there is a way to find that info in the Sony Reader itself.
    Please advise.

    Hello Rolando,
    Welcome to Sony Community.
You can directly transfer content by drag-and-drop to your computer from the below link:
    http://esupport.sony.com/docs/reader/PRST1/eng/contents/03/01/02/02.html?search=windows
Also, you can try the “SYNC” option in the Windows Media Player, after connecting the Reader to the Computer, for transferring the songs.
Refer the below link to check for the supported file types.

  • New computer, old Sony speakers

Great computer!  New P6754Y PC with AMD Athlon II 640 Quad core and Windows 7 64.......my old Sony Vaio has 2 speakers and sub woofer, I kept them.  My question is on the Sony speaker there is a DC power cord that has an odd end, it won't fit into the new HP......when I replace this cord, which port would be correct?  The sub woofer goes into the green port......thank you in advance!!!
I have sound in the sub woofer, but not the speakers.

Don't plug a Sony dc power cord into an input  on your HP desktop.
take a read of this support document on sound. It is quite a bit of info but well worth reading.

I am not certain, but I believe there is a version of Dazzle for the Mac. However, it is not the route I would chose.
You really need a proper analogue to digital converter, like the ADVC110, to connect to your camera via the usual RCA cables, and to your Mac via firewire.

  • I have an old sony Mavica  MVC-CD500 is there any way I can download pictures from cd to Lion

I have an old Sony Mavica   MVC-CD500 -  is there any way I can download cd to imac running Lion

If you use iPhoto, just insert the CD into your optical disc drive, wait for iPhoto to see the disc and open on its own.
iPhoto will load previews of all of your images from the disc.
In the lower right hand corner of iPhoto's application window, click the Import All button and iPhoto will begin downloading the images into iPhoto.

What version of iPhoto are you using?

  • How do I import mpg files made by an old Sony camcorder into iMovie 11?

How do I import mpg files made by an old Sony camcorder into iMovie 11?

I had the same problem. Here is a very easy solution that worked for me.
1- Open the .mpg video with QuickTime Player
2-Go to file/export/ and pick the "Ipad,Iphone,Ipod Touch & AppleTV" option
3-Save your movie with the option "ipod touch &iphone 3GS" picked
4-Confirm by choosing folder of choice to save it in
Now this new version of the movie should be able to be read in imovies.
    Hope that helps!
    Good luck.

  • Old Sony mini DV HELP

Hey, I have a newer sony with a hard drive and an older one that uses mini dv.
The macbook recognizes the hard drive camera right away, but when I connect the old camera with the mini dv, the macbook wont recognize it?
I put it to the VCR setting and hooked it up through the USB. I then went to "capture" on iMovie 09 and it did not read it for some reason....
Can someone please help me with my old sony camera? thanks!!!

Firewire is a bus which lets you import from the camera at the speed of the tape drive with no interruptions. If you had a solid state camera or a hard drive camera, tape speed would not be in issue, and USB would work fine. USB is not good for tape because you share the bus with all kinds of peripherals like your mouse and keyboard, and you cannot guarantee that you can keep up with the tape. Quality is not an issue either way.
A USB bus is like driving to work. You will have to stop at stop signs and traffic lights, and traffic may be heavy.
A firewire bus is like when the President comes to town and they shut down all the roads to everyone except his motorcade.
When you say you have a HD DV I assume you mean HDV. If so, iMovie handles this fine. It probably imports at anamorphic 1440x1080. If you burn a regular DVD, you are limited to 720x480 (wide) or 640x480 (4:3), so the DVD format will be the limiting factor on your quality.
iMovie can export at up to 1920x1080 resolution so the issue is how do you play it.
You can watch movies on your Mac through QuickTIme Player at up to 1920x1080
You can watch movies on Apple TV (up to 960x540 or 1280x720). (this is what I do)
You can watch movies on a Sony Playstation 3 in up to 1920x1080
You can watch movies on a BluRay Player in up to 1920x1080, but you will need TOAST 10 with BluRay Plugin (or Toast 9) and a BluRay Burner. With Toast, you can also burn 1920x1080 movies to a regular DVD using a regular DVD burner, but you are limited to about 20 minutes of video.

  • Sony Card reader issues

    Hello,
We just purchased a MacBook Pro, 11.3 and have moved all data to new laptop and we have one issue, the Sony card reader does not work on the new laptop. The old laptop is a MacBook Pro from 2010'ish, fairly surprised that a USB device which works on one system doesnt work on another. The Sony card reader is Model MRW62E, dated 2012, I think it is USB v2.0, 5v, etc.
Is this just a case of a reader no longer working/supported by a new design?
Does someone know of a CF & SD card reader that works with the new Mac Book Pros?
    Thanks
    Erick

No software is required. What specifically are you trying to do? If connected to a camera some cameras require a setting to see the images on the camera and it does not work for all camera. If using the card in the connector it only sees photos and videos if they are in a directory titled DCIM in the root directory. Also, do you have a case? The kit connectors are large and the case can prevent proper seating of the connector in the ipad.

  • HDMI to DVI with Audio for Input to an Old Sony TV

Just got an Apple TV box for Christmas. Apple TV output is HDMI and I have an old Sony Plasma TV that DO NOT have HDMI but it has DVI with Audio (L & R) inputs.  I can buy a HDMI to DVI converter cable for about $10 but how do I get the sound from the Apple TV to my TV?  Thank you much

    You have two solutions -
Solution One - the way i did it was with a digital auido to RCA convertor - try here for an example http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Optical-Coaxial-Toslink-Converter/dp/B0074JZ8ZW
    or
    solution two
a Kanex ATV PRo - converts HDMI to VGA and 3.5mm Audio
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/H9139VC/A/kanex-atv-pro-hdmi-to-vga-adapter-wi th-audio-support
Both work but there is a cost and a bit of work.

  • How do I get all pages of a multi-page PDF form to print in old versions of Reader?  Reader 11 prints all; Reader 10 skips first page

I'm new to forms creation, so please excuse my ignorance. I've created a 9 page form in InDesign CS6 on Mac OS 10.6.8 and exported it as an interactive PDF. With Acrobat 10.1.10 I've checked that there is no security -- everything is allowed. None of the form fields is required.  I originally had some required fields but made them not required to see if my printing problem would go away.  I enabled the extension that allows versions of Reader before 11 to save data in the form. Page 1 has combo fields, radio buttons, a submit button, and text fields.  The rest of the form has radio buttons and text fields. Some of the people who've tried my form say they can print pages 2 through 9 but not page 1. One of them is known to be using Reader 10. I've tried printing my form with Reader 11 on Max OX 10.6.8 and Reader 11 on Windows 8.1 and seen no printing problems. What have I done wrong?  Is there something about the submit button on page 1 that makes older versions of Reader not willing to print that page?  There's nothing propriety or sensitive on the form so I'll leave it for a while in Dropbox in case someone is willing to inspect it.  It's at
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/87784382/Savable_Local_Show_Report_2.pdf

I've been able to find someone willing to do some testing that I can't do without installing old versions of Reader on my computer.  The surprising (to me) result is that the Submit button causes the problem.  By simply removing the Submit button, Reader 10 is now able to print page 1.  The Submit button was set up to do a "mailto".  I don't know whether other destinations also cause the problem of the page not printing with old versions of Reader.

  • How do I get my Sony ebook Reader to show up ("be recognized") in the top left corner??

How do I get my Sony ebook reader to show up ("be recognized") in the top left corner of the window.  It never shows up and I cannot transfer books from my Mac computer to ADE.  I am using Sony Reader Library but it is developing problems!!  Can anyone assist??

No solution yet.  One would think that Adobe would recognize that several complaints  have been reported on this problem.  Obviously, nobody knows how to fix it!!  Sorry I can't be helpful!!

  • Optical drive on iMac at work, barely one year old, won't read CD's....disc utilities shows disc unavailable!  Rarely used and out of warranty, what a rip off!!  I have been on MACS since the 80's and things are getting more and more difficult

Optical drive on iMac at work, barely one year old, won't read CD's....disc utilities shows disc unavailable!  Rarely used and out of warranty, what a rip off!!  I have been on MACS since the 80's and things are getting more and more difficult to deal with. Why did it quit after barely being used? Any help from Apple?

It depends on what you mean by "barely one year old". If the iMac is only a couple of days out of warranty, Apple's been known to make exceptions and extend the warranty, though it's by no means guaranteed. If it's several days or more out of warranty, then Apple will fix it, if it's a hardware problem, but the repair won't be free. This is no different now then it would have been with a Mac purchased back in the 80s.
Why the drive failed, if indeed it has, is impossible to say. Could have been a static shock, a weak component that failed when power was applied, or a mechanical fault in one of the tiny parts used in optical drives and hard drives that finally broke.
    Regards.

  • Sony e reader prs 600 not showing in bookmark pane on my new Mac with Snow Leopard

I have a brand new sony e reader prs 600 it is supported but I am unable to see it on the bookmark pane in my new Mac with Snow Leopard is it something to do with Snow leopard?  Or why can I not see my sony e reader?  thank you

According to the Adobe website ADE 1.7.1 is compatible with Mac if you
look at system requirements and with the Sony reader if you look at
supported devices.  Though it doesn't mention Macs latest O/S.
and if I download an Adobe digital editions book, can I then move it
to Sony's ebook software, or is the format unsupported on the Sony
    Ereader?
