Hi Forum.. Just built a new box with following components:
Intel C2D-E6400
MSI P6N 650i SLI-FI mobo
Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2-800 (2.2v) memory/2gig
Rosewill RCX-Z775-SL 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Installed WinXP Pro with sp2 and system is up and running (without a hiccup) quite nicely... PCAlert4 shows: CPU=20c, Sysytem=25c, CPU Fan=2170... CoreTemp shows: Core#0=32c, Core#1=31c.... My guess is that these numbers are good.
I have built quite a few builds over the last 15 years but mostly on the AMD platform and have "never" attempted to overclock... I was thinking of trying it with this new build as it seems, from this forum, I have all the right components... I would like to try a modest O/C maybe up to 3ghz... I went to the bios and the Cell menu and tried to make some changes but some items will not allow you to change their values and to be quite honest, I'm not sure "what" values need to be changed and "where", to attain an O/C of 3ghz... I appoligize for my ignorance in overclocking but I really do not want to screw up this system... Great layout, install was a breeze (though MSI is in serious need of a native English speaking tech writer), basic setup went alright,

As you increase the FSB, the RAM will follow in the pattern of 1:1
shown in BIOS.
When 1FSB:1RAM is overclocked above the rated frequency of your RAM
use the following values: Timing: 5-5-5-15; vDIMM: 2.#V, max per DIMM.
e.g. DDR2-667 4-4-4-12 1.9V operating at ~400Mhz will need to be set
to 5-5-5-15, 2.1 - 2.2V.
5. Save settings and reboot.

messages of "Error on page" and "Opening file .../whtdhtml.htm..."
Is there something that I've missed that I need to modify in

My ipad 2 wont start. all i see is the apple and then disappears then reappears but wont load.
Was listening to pandora and went to skip a song and it shut off. now all i get is the apple logo which fades in and out. I have tried a soft reboot and nothing and itunes wont read it.

Bought new iMac & moved (or thought I had) all of my music from the old PC to the new iMac. Have discovered several hundred songs are orphaned on old PC; I can "see" them with both machines turned on & iTunes open. "Missing" songs show in iMac itunes Shared folder. How do I move them all so I can then & retire the old PC?
From things you are saying, such as "shared folder" and having both machines on, it doesn't sound to me like you truly moved the whole iTunes collection.

do not confuse moving your whole folder and library with moving just media files as in

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

Migration Assistant Problem: Old MacBook Pro does not see new MacAir
I have a brand new MacAir (OSX 10.7 and a 4 year old Macbook Pro (OSX 10.6)...trying to use Migration Assistant using Wifi, they're both on my network, but the new MacAir can "see" the old Macbook, but the old Macbook doesn't "see" the new MacAir...the wheel just keeps spinning as it tries to find another computer to migrate to but it just never sees it. What am I doing wrong or what can I do to fix this problem? Thanks!
Sounds like there are two issues:
1. The Migration should start from the "To" computer asking for the stuff from the "From" computer. Sounds like you're doing it the other way.
2. The MacBook Air isn't visible. Correct that by going to System Preferences ---> Sharing on your MacBook Air and see if things look good there. You should at least see a message near the top starting with "Computers on your local network can access your computer ..." -
After moving my music library from my old mb to the new one, my new mb pro does not play the files evenly. It takes a break for two sec's and starts playback where it stopped. Ideas anyone?

They only thing I can assume is that my external hard drive was slow to start and iTunes defaulted to its old directory (see the last paragraph at the link above). However, once my external was recognized shouldn't everything have fixed itself?

I am trying to move my itunes library from my old pc to my new imac, home sharing is on and I can see the shared library. My problem is that when I check the shared library to import it to my imac I cannot import it. Can anyone help me?
You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before. -
Printer is overprinting old jobs on top of new jobs. Using a Mac with OSx and a HP photosmart for over a year. this just started happening.
RReset printing system again and the restart in Safe Mode . This will clear some caches,to do this hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup tone until a progress bar appears, after it has fully booted restart normally and add the printer.

How can I see only new topics from selected spaces on one page?
Just wondering how can I do the subj.
For instance, Im interested only in Database space, and only in several sub-spaces like high availability, upgrade, general.
So, I would like to see new topics only from these areas on single page. how can I do this?
Currently, in order to check for new questions, I need every time to go to every space, then select sub-space, go back, select another subspace. This is very inconvenient, slow and takes server resources as well.

EdYou have to select Track in Communications under Actions in the Overview view of the appropriate forum space you are interested in. You should then receive notifications under Communications and can filter by "unread". If you don't want email notifications, you need to set it OFF in your user preferences. I am trying to activate my program into my new computer (the old one was run over by a car) and it says I have exceeded my installations. It's Adobe Audition 3 (you can see I've been using it a long time) and I rely on it for work everyday. Please advise.
The activation server for Audition 3 was shut down by Adobe several years ago.
You now need to download the non-activation version provided by Adobe here
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Install then enter the new serial number provided by Adobe at that link. Your existing serial number will no longer work. -
Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard is still seeing my old scanner install. How to force it to see new scanner install? Scanner is recognized by and works fine in Windows. Acrobat however still sees Fujitsu fi-6130dj #3. I need it to see Fujitsu fi-6130dj which is what is listed in Device Manager. (Windows XP SP3).

Background. When you install a USB device to a PC it is listed in Windows Device Manager as installed hardware. If you take the USB plug for any device and plug it into a different USB port on the PC the PC will install drivers again for that device. In Device Manager, if you set a system environment variable for device manager to show non-present devices you can see all of the times this may have occurred. In this specific instance there were five installations in Device Manager for one piece of hardware, a Fujitsu fi-6130 scanner. The first listing was Fujitsu fi-6130dj, then Fujitsu fi-6130dj #2, Fujitsu fi-6130dj #3 and so on. Adobe Acrobat only saw the third instance of these drivers being installed. Once I cleaned Device Manager of all Fujitsu scanner installs I was able to have a single set of drivers installed for this Fujitsu but Adobe still recognized the third instance of the driver install and I could not figure out how to force it to see what Device Manager was seeing, a single instance of the scanner being installed (with no #3 behind it).
Steps performed to try to resolve.
Repair install of Adobe - no luck - still sees the #3 instance of the scanner
Deactivation, uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reactivation of Adobe - no luck, same behavior as above
Complete removal of all scanner related software. This included the ISIS drivers in Add/Remove Programs and all other related software. This also included deleting the contents of the TWAIN_32 directory found within the root of the Windows directory and also included deleting the scanner from Device Manager.
Rebooted.
Reinstalled complete packages of both TWAIN and ISIS scanners - with the scanner disconnected. Powered the scanner back on and let Windows install the drivers for the hardware. Only at this point did Adobe see the new install of the Fujitsu scanner and no longer looked for the #3 instance of that scanner install. -

Yes all of the iPhone 5 family use the nano sim, so as long as you did not switch to a phone locked to another network it will work. But you do need to go through the activation/setup procedure with tHat sim.

I am running OS X Yosemite on my four year old MacBook Pro which has become progressively slower and is loaded with applications I no longer use. I plan to start afresh by formatting a new 1TB SSD as a boot disk and reinstalling Lightroom 5 and PhotoShop CC.
Is there a list of the files and/or folders that contain Settings and Preferences which can be copied from the old system to the new?with your cc apps you should try to use the sync feature. that's never worked consistently for me, but when it does work, it's helpful.
there are preference folders and presets and settings that you could copy but you're better off installing fresh because a common problem for people with adobe program issues is a settings issue. -
