Old USB brackets on my new mainboard?

Hi!
I've just upgraded from MSI K7T266 Pro2 to K9N Neo, but i miss an extra USB-bracket.
So i took one of my old ones that came with the K7T-board. My question is: Am i doing something wrong here?
Beacause, i can't get them to work on my new mainboard.
Someone? Please... Must i BUY new ones... :(
Todde

Thanks anyway for pointing this out! Did not think about that, my idea was that MSI has started to save money and not ship mainboards with USB brackets no more.
Wrote my dealer tonight, let's se what he has to offer...
Thanks again!

What version of Premiere Elements is still installed activated on the old computer (what is your old operating system)?
What version of Premiere Elements are you going to install and activate on your new computer (what is your new operating system)?
Before you do anything, how many of your computers now have the same Premiere Elements purchased/activated serial number installed on them - just that one old one?

When I attached my USB flashdrive to my new Mac Air no icon appears and the same when I attached my new superdrive.  I just finished downloading pictures off of my old Mac and that one worked as expected. The new computer doesn't show anything but when I pull the USB flashdrive out, a message prompts me with an improper eject notice. Any ideas on why no icon (a disc) appears and how can I get it to?

  • What is the exact name of the cable I need to connect my old hard drive from my macbook pro (it has been taken out of the computer) to my new macbook pro?  I need to transfer files from the old hard drive to the new computer.

What is the exact name of the cable I need to connect my old hard drive from my macbook pro, which has been removed from the computer, to my new macbook pro?  I need to transfere files from the old hard drive to the new computer.

No eSATA to USB. Just a SATA/IDE to USB adapter. Google SATA/IDE to USB adapter and you will get tons of links to buy them. Most likely your local computer electronics store has them, although they might be more expensive buying locally than online.
I have several. You can get either USB 2, which what I recommend, or USB 3. USB is backward compatible so a USB 3 adapter will work on a USB 2 port and a USB 2 adapter will work on a USB 3 port. Backward compatible in both directions.
I suggest a USB 2 type because there have been some problems with certain USB 3 devices, the USB 3 interface used isn't all that good in those certain devices. USB 3 is still fairly new where as USB 2 has been around for over 10 years.

  • How do I transfer applications & data from my old hard-drive to my new one?

My old hard drive started to crash, it was on it's way out and making funny noises. I have brought a new hard drive and connected it to the same leeds as the old one. I have put the opperating system on to the new hard drive and it is all up and running..... but.
I want to transfer all my old applications like garage sale and limewire without having to pay for them again and transfer all my music and photos from the old hard drive to the new.
    So:
1: How do i get the old hard drive out of the position it's in it seems glued in and i can't see any screws?
2: How do i connect both hard drives and transfer everything from the old to the new? Do i need to buy another set of leeds or should they be in the computer
Your help would be most appreciated.....

    Hi
You should be able to have both drives installed at the same time in the rear U shaped bracket. One needs to be mounted in the bottom of the bracket, have it's jumpers set to master and be connected to the end connector of the ribbon cable. The other needs to mounted above it, have it's jumpers set to slave and be connected to the middle connector of the ribbon cable. The computer should have the leads to do this, i.e. one ribbon cable with two connectors and two molex power connectors. With both drives installed, you can then drag your music and photos etc from the old to the new. You could try dragging the applications, although if they install additional files elsewhere they'll need to be reinstalled from the original CDs or DVDs.
The old drive may be screwed into the U shaped bracket from below. There should be a single screw which secures the bracket to the chassis at the front, although it may be hidden under the ribbon cable. If you unplug the ribbon cable and undo the single screw you can remove the bracket still containing the old drive, by sliding it forwards and lifting it up at the front. The screws securing the drive to the bracket can then be undone from beneath.

  • How to transfer old icloud id stuff to new account id?

    Hi all!!
Ok I have a friend who has an iPhone 6 and his wife an iPad (old iPad using large usb cable) and they have an
iMac (no DVD drive) and they use the same iCloud id's on both devises now the part to do 2 separate iCloud id's
I can do no problem BUT the part I'm not sure how to do is to transfer Contacts, Calendar, Photos, music,
apps etc…. from the old iCloud id to the new one without loosing anything. This change will be done on the iPad side
So what to do?? I didn't tell them yet that it was gona be easy to do because I have no idea what's involved to do this
transfer so I need help to do this step by step (no geek language please). They have OSX 10.10 on iMac and iOS 8.2
    on both devices.
    THANKS ALL!!!

Technical part is as easy as it gets, you just sign out of icloud and when prompted you keep what you are allowed to keep. Stuff that you will not have a choice is really minor, but if you want to - you can backup that stuff by emailing photostream pictures or documents in the cloud. Once sign out - sign back in to new id.
Legal part is however different - while you are allowed to keep all those applications, music on ipad, it  belongs to old apple id still. Legally, so when it is time to update app you need to enter password for old account or delete an app and redownload for new account. If it is not free you have to pay again. Normally though families do not mind doing updates under the same id, as long as icloud and imessage/facetime are separate.

  • Is it possible to use a USB hub on a new MacBook Pro with Maverickss?

I have used a powered Q-Store USB2 hub on first my old trust MacBook with the 13 inch screen running System X.6.8 for years; then I switched it over to my new 13 In. MacBook Pro (non retina) with Mavericks X.9.2 and it still works great. It is powered and seems to run a full load including USB hard drives, camera when wanted, cooling pad with fan, printer/scanner/copier combo, charging a MP3 player or Galaxy S4, apple mouse and keyboard, all with no trouble and no drop outs. I let an old Firewire 400 or 800 hard disk stay with my old Macintosh for now as it mirrors it, but sometimes hook it up with no problem except it gets hot.
I have a new USB3  WD Passport 3 hard drive and a 32 gb USB 3 memory stick. I wanted to put these on a USB3 hub and use one of the ports for the faster items. I can run either my WD My Passport 3 Gb drive that I use to mirror my internal drive as long as it is alone. I can also plug a 32 gb A Data memory stick in fine alone except things get a bit snug, and there's no more room on the USB 2 hub for the memory stick. If I do not use a hub for the one port I have to either use the Hard Drive or the memory stick, not both. I was using the memory stick to port files back and forth between my old and new computers at least for a while. The USB 3 peripherals work reliably when plugged in alone, but the moment a hub gets in the picture even if only one item is plugged into it, things drop in and out. It does not matter if it is the powered USB 3 hub or the non-powered Anker USB 3 4 port hub. The USB 2 items simply work but the USB 3 ones only work alone. I have looked at the power specifications. It seems like one hard drive uses all of the power the hub can put out.
It looks like the USB 3 is rather limited on Macintosh computers is all I can conclude. There may be extra speed, but what good is it if you can only run one peripheral at a time? It seems like even a hub stresses it unless it is a hub and a memory stick or two. I even changed to system settings to keep my hard drives from going to sleep, but still it drops out randomly if hooked to a hub and runs perfectly when plugged in directly. I had hoped to use it for an emergency start up disk if needed, though I must say the rather incredible StoreEdge Micro SDX card works great for that purpose and seems to belong.
That old USB 2 hub, even with a smaller one plugged in with 2 portable hard drives still works flawlessly on the other port and never drops out.
I have not tested the Firewire 800 port long enough to decide, except it gets hot if it reads very long.. The old Firewire 800 / USB 2 hard disk has more than one port on it unlike so many today. I had to use a Firewire 800 to 400 cable for my old computer. Anyway it works in either computer and stays mounted even when asleep.
Is it possible to use a USB 3 hub with more than one peripheral on a 2012-2013 13 inch MacBook Pro computer with Mavericks? If so which one works? It cannot be good for hard disks to randomly disconnect and reconnect without being dragged to the trash.

no you can't - you have to upgrade it to 16GB yourself.
you can get your RAM from newegg.com, macsales.com.
    the RAM you need is 16GB (8GBX2) DDR3 1600MHz DDR3.
upgrading the RAM yourself will not void your warranty.
you need a #00 Phillips Screwdriver - 10 screws at the bottom - 7 long ones and 3 short ones - just remember where they go when you put the screws back in.
    a simple 10 minute job.

  • I blew my motherboard on an old computer and hooked my old hard drive to the new computer and want to transfer my bookmarks to the new drive but cannot find where they are located on the old drive--any help?

My motherboard went bad on my old computer, but the hard drive was OK. I purchased a new computer and hooked my old hard drive to it through a usb adapter. I would like to import or copy my bookmarks from the old hard drive to my new one, but I cannot find where they are. I was unable to determine this from searching articles on the web. Be advised that my old hard drive is basically nothing but a storage place for files at this point. My old operating system was windows XP, and my new system is Windows Home Premium.

  • HT1515 How do i get my old AirPort Express (7years old) to work with my new Time Capsule?

How do i get my old AirPort Express (7years old) to work with my new Time Capsule?

Does anyone at Apple have help for this sort of question - I too have an old printer (HP LaserJet 5MP) that I would like to keep using on my Mac. (Mac OSX 10.6.8).
I got it working by getting a USB cord that connects to it - but every once in a while it just stops working for weeks. The mac 'sees' it and it sends the data because the printer lights start blinking but then it just doesn't do anything. Is there no one who can tell me (and raterada) how to get some new life into these old printers. I would rather not add this (and a new toner cart) to the landfill just yet. . .

  • Missing USB bracket

This is something I asked support for...
    Support
I recently purchased some MSI components from an outlet in Taiwan whilst traveling for business. Amongst these parts was a P31 Neo motherboard. The board itself is very good, however, it did not come with a USB bracket that is listed in the manual.
I know you are probably going to tell me to contact the Taiwan outlet that I bought the board from but this is not practical. Can you let me know where I can get one of these USB brackets from as all I can use is USB 1.0 until I get one. I don't mind if I have to pay for it but it would be very helpful if you could advise me how to get one.
    This was their reply:
You can get the bracket here: http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/products2.asp?CategoryID=142&SubCategoryID=320
Cool, so I bought one and it don't fit.  This was my reply...
I purchased the MSI USB bracket (code: 08001035) , it does not work.  I notice that the motherboard has a pin missing one end and the bracket does not match this, could it be a different bracket?
Can you please suggest what I might need?
To add to my last mail, I checked the MSI manual and it states a pinout of:
    1-VCC
    2-VCC
    3-USB0-
    4-USB1-
    5-USB0+
    6-USB1+
    7-GND
    8-GND
    9-KEY(NO PIN)
    10-SUB0C
And now I have lost interest in trying to get anything from MSI, filling in the form each time drives me round the bend.  Thought I'd ask on here, maybe someone knows where I can get the correct bracket as I have already spent £6.99 on something that I will never use.
    Thank you
    Si

The board's USB connectors are compliant with the Front Panel I/O Connectivity
Design Guide which means it is highly standardized.  I am note sure what is up with the bracket you bought but the wiring seems to be messed up somehow. In any case, it must either be really old or of some strange standard.
Your case has a plug for the USB Front Panel connectors, right?  Do you have any problems with that?
I have bought different USB brackets in the past that were sometimes quite cheap no-name thingies and I never had any problems using them on MSI boards with standardized connectors.  Do you know a local computer ship that sells such brackets so that you can have a look at the plugs before you actually buy something?

You will need to use an external DVD drive to run the disc installer that came you your machine. You can also do it with another Mac using the Remote Install Max OS X app. Finely, if you have access to another computer, you could burn the install image on a USB thumb drive, boot from that, erase the drive and run the installer.

1)Which o/s you are working upon?
2)When you say files are corrupted, which files are corrupted, database files or software files?
3)Which files you have copied?Your oracle database files ?

Please give me which folder or datafile change with new file
    Old 10g database file mfa10g

You can't just put one file from somewhere and "plug-in" with your database.Either you have to recover that file which has another complications or you have to restore the entire old database.
Answer the questions that I have just asked. This will help for a better answer .

Do cables of the old I-Pods work on new ones?
After my Older I-Pod took a tumble and busted.
:<( RIP! Separation anxiety. :<( So Sad!
I just traded it in for a new one.
Should of asked them this but wasn't thinking (still in shock).

    Firewire too?
New one is 30GB Audio Video Color.
Old one was 40 GB B/W Audio only (new 16 months ago).
I can dig up better specs if thats not enough.
    Many Many Thanks!

    Firewire too?
If your iPod's ac charger is Apple product, then it can only just a Firewire version or an USB version
unless your old model is touch wheel or scroll wheel, have a check here
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61688
    The old cable should work.
By the way, the Fifth Generation iPod will charge via a 6-pin FireWire connection but will not sync over FireWire.

  • How to transfer ring tones from old PC itunes library to new PC itunes library

I have upgraded my computer and am in the process of importing the music, apps, audiobooks, etc from my old computer & iTunes library to my new computer.  I am using the HomeShare feature to do the import and it has worked flawlessly for everything except ringtones.  When I access my ringtones in the old library, the "Import" button does NOT appear in the lower right hand corner like it does for music, apps, etc.  So, how then do I transfer my ringtone library from the old iTunes library to the new one???  Thanks for any and all help.

Unfortunately iTunes won't let you just "Copy" and "Paste" out of the library.  However, you can drag and drop files from your library into a USB drive and then drag and drop them from the USB drive into the new library.
This is not the best way to do it,
As dieselvdub noted, just copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /Music/ on new computer.
Then is is an exact duplicate of the old library (same ratings, artwork, playlists, date added, # plays, etc.), not just a new library with all content
