Old user, questions for new forums

the last time that i needed to DL extensions was right after
the macromedia/adobe merger. being a longtime dreamweaver user, i
was very familiar with the exchange and had no problem with it
except that i was a bit slow to browse through. and, also, being a
longtime photoshop user, i was familiar with the adobe
support/downloads/forums etc. as well.
i have a new computer and am now using dw 8 and am looking
for some dw extensions. the exchange no longer lists information
about the software compatibility of the extensions. so i came to
the forum to look for information. the dw general forum lists
119814 topics, and yet i can only access 2 pages (40 topic).
my next step was to seek out a _forum_ forum. the closest
thing i found, linked from
http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/index.html
(which also links to this forum) was under general/forum
comments. i discovered that it required a different log-in
procedure, requiring a first/last name for user, instead of the
email address that this forum requires. well, this turns out to be
defined as a &quot;user to user&quot; forum and
restricted to only that. for example, the faq had a question
regarding downloads (i'm thinking maybe i'll find a link to a
better-functioning dw exchange). but the answer to this
&quot;faq&quot; was &quot;there are no
downloads in the user to user forum&quot;.
i want to be able to get dw extensions and to locate a forum
that addresses this activity. i also want to locate a forum that
discusses the functionality of the support forums in general.
and, possibly, most importantly, i want to be able to access
more than just the 40 most recent postings in a forum that claims
to have almost 12,000 topics.

Did you logout from the old account and do the delete from the new administrator account? You may have to click the padlock at the lower-left if it is locked.

Unless you transfer the files from Setup Assistant, Migration Assistant creates a new user with the data.
To transfer the files to your first user, you have to log on this new user, and copy all your files to /Users/Shard folder. This is a folder where you can put the files you want to share between two or more users, and all users can read and write in it.
After copying the files, go to your first user, open /Users/Shared folder, and copy the files to your user folders. If you migrated applications, you must know that they are stored in a common folder (/Applications), so you don't have to transfer them. To open /Users/Shared folder, open Go menu (in the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type the folder

Help removing old user ID for C3 so I can edit website using trial CS5

Hello all, I used to manage my website using Contribute 3 but it kept having hanging issues (I'm using MAC OS X 10.5.8) while editing - had to force quit numerous times. Decided to download a trial version of CS 5 which has been working fine except that it won't let me edit one page of my site stating "You can't perform the operation on this page now because DHinden (insert e-mail address) is currently editing or reviewing it". DHinden was my old user ID for Contribute 3, I guess it didn't 'log me out' properly when I force quit the program. Does anyone have any solutions to this situation? I've tried re-installing C3 but it hasn't worked. Not sure if there's anything I can do using the trial version of CS5. Would appreciate any help. Thanks and advance for your assistance. Hi,
Can you check in the Manage Sent Drafts dialog, whether the page is listed or not? To open the Manage Sent Drafts dialog, click Edit -> Administer Websites -> Manage Sent Drafts menu item. Note that, you should have created your website connection before. And, to see the list of all the drafts in review, you should connect as Administrator.
If you see that the page is listed in the Manage Sent Drafts dialog, select the draft, and do Undo Checkout, or Change Owner and assign the draft to yourself.

users.dbf into new /u01/app/oracle/oradata/XE/ folder where new users.dbf exist.
Old users.dbf have 3gbytes(dates from old oracle instal)

General : new user ID not linked to my old user ID on SDN forum

I used to have a user ID on SDN forum & recently I recieved a request from SDN to collaborate my SDN account with SAP Service market place.
I accepted it & since then, all the questions that am posting into forums are being posted with new user ID & it's not the same as the one that i used earlier.
Basically, my old user ID got wiped off after this process.
How do I make sure that my new user ID posts tie with my old user ID.

I am having trouble answering my old security questions for my itunes account and it is creating a problem because I am not able to purchase apps/songs on my new IPAD. What phone number/email adress should I call to get a quick response to my issue?

I have recently bought an IPAD 2 for my girlfriend and have encountered a problem with purchasing apps through my itunes account. It is requesting that I not only enter my pasword (which I know) but answer my old account questions, which I have forgotten the answers to. It had since locked me out of changing my questions for eight hours. Is there any number I can call to prove that I am the real owner of my itunes account so my girlfriend will be able to use her ipad to purchase new apps without having to go through the trouble of using one of my other apple devices? New mac user question for multiple user setup

Trying to figure out the best way to set up my mac. I am switching from a pc where we have two user accounts (for my wife and mysef). We both have iphones with seperate icloud accounts but share the same itunes account for purchases. We currently use separate user accounts for itunes as well (keep her and my playlists seperate) Also, we both have emails we will want to use the mail application for too.
So, my question is, do i need to create two user accounts or can i use just one and have multiple people / email accounts on the mail app as well as use only one itunes account for seeing how all contacts now back up in the icloud.
as a PC user, still trying to figure out the Mac world.

Can I migrate data from "old" user account to new user after clean install?

I've just done a clean install of Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro (I erased system drive before install). I've upgraded SL to 10.6.2 using a generic administrator account. And I have an exact bootable clone of my old data (SuperDuper backup on external drive).
I don't care about migrating all my old software; I'll reinstall it. But I would like to migrate system preferences, mail accounts, iCal calendars, and keychains etc. And some silly part of me wants to REname my username. (Also: I can't use Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant because some part of the old image has Microsoft Entourage hooks in Mail and MobileMe that I want to get rid of.)
So here's my question: if I create a new account with the NEW user name I want to start using, can I STILL then copy over my old data? I don't know which of the below stuff has my old user name embedded in the data. Here's the list:
Your data in ~/Documents

what exactly do you mean by that? you can use Migration Assistant to migrate your user only (no applications). that should most likely suffice and i don't think Entourage will be a problem. you'll have to delete various entourage folders in your documents folder afterward if you don't plan on using it anymore.

yes, as bdmarsha said, your user name is not mentioned anywhere in your home directory.

While starting my iMac after new hard drive installed, I created a admin user, I then pulled over a backup from an external hard drive that brought over the previous admin user settings. Need to merge to old user with the new user

I had to replace the hard drive in my iMac. Upon initial start up, I created a admin user name and password. Then I connected a WD external hard drive that had a back up of my orginal HD. Upon running Migration Assistant and pulling over the back up I found it pulled over the ORIGINAL user & security information from the original hard drive. In order to see iPhoto or iTunes libraies I must sign on to the "Old" user.
I want to Merge old and new users into only 1 user or delete the original user however need to have the iPhoto/iTunes libraies accessable by the "New" user.

Your best bet is to start over, by restoring your entire system to the exact condition it was in. Otherwise, the transferred user account probably won't have permission to its backups. See the pink box in Problems after using Migration Assistant for an explanation.

Question for CL Forum Ad

I have been reading through this forum and there seems to be no shortage of upset customers. They all seems to be asking the same questions over and over again, and the only answer given is, "I'll post more information when I get it".
Now, I'm not a real tech savvy guy, but why is it not possible, to walk over to the desk of the head developer, and say, "Hey Steve, can you tell me why the new drivers are the same as the beta ones?"
And then walk back to your PC and type the answer here. I mean lets be honest, unless you are sending messages via snail mail, I don't understand why this is so hard to do. I suspect you HAVE the answers, but the big cheese at CL has told you to simply deflect the questions for now.
What I am trying to say is that by you saying you'll post information when you get it, does nothing but make your company look completely rag tag. It gives the impression that everyone just works part time from home, and they only meet every other Saturday for a softball game. There is no official statements from CL, you guys don't have any answers, no one knows when anything is being released or what it'll have in it...it just seems like the company is in shambles.
And this brings me to my second question. While you're slow to respond to questions about why things aren't working and such, but you are quicker than a fat man chasing a rolling donut down the street when someone advertises another brand, so my question is what do YOU recommend we do?
Can you suggest some solutions for all of the people who bought CL cards and have no working drivers? I would really appreciate if you didn't simply ignore, or skirt around this question.
I think it's time you threw us a bone here, if you're not going to give us any information, then at least give us some other alternati'ves.

Repalce old user ID with new user ID in Org Plan

Hi,
I have a requirement. In our company, we have different type of user IDs for permanent employees and contractors.
Whenever the contractors postion gets confirmed we will create a new user ID for that person.
Now this new user ID has to be updated in the SRM org plan.
As the user's old user ID is already assigned in the org plan and at the same time user have created lot of shopping carts, we want to replace his old user ID with the new one so that all the shopping carts will not get deleted.
Basically I want to know, how to unassign the user ID from business partner and assign a new user ID.
Is it possible to replace like that? Please advise.

I noticed a feature in txn: BP --> Relationship
In the relationship category, I could see two categories: Replaced by, Is replacing. Not sure what is the exact functionality of that.
Do any one knows about that feature? Could you please advise me on that field?
Also, Is it possible to change the validity period of BP or user assignment ?
Will the above two resolve my issue?
Since user has created many shopping carts and user needs access to those SC with his new users ID, I would like to confirm with you before taking any risk.

Migrate all variant of old user id to new user id

I am working on Single sign on project. I need to change all user id to match with a network id. That is no problem. However, I need to be able to bring along all variant for old user id to the new id. Do you know is there a Bapi or a way to do that? I know I can have user login as old id and create a copy of the variant but that will be a lot of work for user and they may complain. I donu2019t want users to do anything except change their id. All the process should be invisible to users.
Is there a way to do this? If so, please let me know.

Copy queries from old user id to new user id

Hello,
We have a new userid standard. One of our power users has quite a few queries created as discovered using table RSRREPDIR.
Her new id copied all her favorities from old id to new.
However, she cannot change the old ones since they are under her old id. The only way is to save as to her new id and modify.
For most users, this is not a problem but this particular user has several hundred queries.
Is there a tcode that will mass copy the queries and replace her old id with her new id?
Also - on her old id she had created several folders where she had all her different queries. WHen her new user id was activated, her old one was deleted. We reactivated it but I believe the folders may have been deleted in the process. I am not sure if they are stored anywhere?

Hi Lynda,
You can achieve this by changing the reporting authorisation of that particular user as to the new user id should be able to change the queries made by the old id.
Check for the authorization object for that user and make the necessary changes
