Old version of mpeg plugin?

Due to certain app restrictions, I must stay with QT ver 7.4.5 for awhile. I just purchased the mpeg plugin and now find that it is only compatible with QT ver 7.6.
I know that older versions of this plugin worked on pre-7.6 QT. Does anyone know how to get the older version?

Yeap, I know that now.
I had bought the plug for a different computer with similar needs not to long before the 7.6 update. I just powered ahead to outfit a second system.

Security Update 2008-008 installs old version of Shockwave plugin

It appears that the recent Security Update 2008-008 for 10.4.x does not properly check to see if a newer version of Shockwave plugin is installed.
We have Shockwave 11.0.3r470 installed, but the Security Update 2008-008 has installed version 10.1.1.r116
This results in two version of Shockwave being installed on the system.

The issue here is that the SecurityUpdate 2008-008 will install Shockwave 10 even if Shockwave 11 is already present. This results in having two different version installed simultaneously.
Safari even reports both in the "Installed Plug-ins" report.
My guess would be that it is not good to have both installed at the same time!

Downloaded latest VLC Web Plugin ver but Firefox still show old version

Downloaded VLC Web Plugin Version 2.0.5.0 and rebooted and restarted Firefox.
Firefox Plug Ins still shows old version 2.0.2.0.
When I check Firefox for latest version is says 2.0.2.0 is the latest and I'm up to date.
When I open VLC as a standalone it comes up as version 2.0.5.0.
Why is Firefox not incorporating the correct version?

Try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

Old versions of plugins in LR 5

When I right click to edit in LR 5 I still see old versions of define 2.0 and color efex pro 3 as choices.
I can't figure out how to remove them. They do NOT show up as filters in PS CC.
I don't still have a copy of Color efex 3 or the stand alone define 2.0 to uninstall from (I was given an "upgrade" license to the new google version of the nik collection) but I stil have the color efec pro 4 standalone and I did run that uninstaller.
I also uninstalled the google version and reinstalled that and that didn't help.
I'm running Mac 10.8.4 and latest CC versions of PS and LR

If the 'Remove' button is disabled, then go to the Lr 'Modules' folder, and delete undesired plugins.
(if 'Remove' button is enabled, then select plugin and click 'Remove')
PS - To get to the modules folder, open Lr preferences and select "Show Lightroom Presets Folder" - 'Modules' folder will most likely be there in the 'Lightroom' folder.
If you don't see the modules folder there or plugins not in it, then ask a Mac expert where they got put.

Although I have the latest version of Firefox installed, I'm constantly getting the warning message that I AM USING THE OLD VERSION; what could be the issue here?

I usually upgrade Firefox within a couple of days when the new version is issued. Nevertheless, I can't seem to get it right. Although when I check "About Firefox" tab in the Help menu it says that my version is 9.0.1 (i.e. the latest version available) - still on the Firefox Update page I always get this annoying msg:

Also, even though I live in Croatia, I prefer my Firefox (and other programs) in English, so I use UK version of Firefox.
I do have some problems updating MS .Net Framework - could this be the issue with Firefox too?
Anyway, I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, even tried installing Croatian version - nothing helped.
As a result of this, I also have a problem with Gmail - I can only use standard, basic HTML view. Also annoying as hell.
Btw, as for "Installed plugins" - I'm not sure which of those are right, but I do not have Netscape installed, and never had one on this computer. I even ran the search for term "Netscape" and it came out empty.

Old versions of flash installed with Photoshop

It is not clear to me if this is the correct place to post this question, but I hope this is a better place than in the forum on flash in web browsers. If anyone can suggest a better place to post this, please let me know.
I have kept the copy of flash that I use with Firefox up to date; it is now at 10.0.22.87 and is correctly (I believe) installed in c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash.
The other day I installed a recently purchased copy of Photoshop CS4 and then ran the updates that were offered for that.
I use the excellent Secunia Personal Software Inspector (secunia.com) to tell me when I have insecure out of date software installed and it now tells me that I have older copies of flash components as follows:
- in d:\program files\adobe\adobe extension manager CS4\ I have NPSWF32.dll v 9.0.124.0
- in the ...\adobe\adobe device central\required\opera\program\plugins I have v 9.0.115.0 of the same dll (and I do nt use Opera!)
- and in ...\adobe\adobe bridge CS4\browser\plugins\ I have the same dll at level 9.0.124.0.
Given that some of the Flash updates were to fix security holes, why do I now find myself with newly installed out of date flash components?
I have tried running the flash removal and reinstall tool from the Adobe website but that did not touch the out of date copies in the Photoshop folders.
Why do I have to have multiple copies of Flash on my system? One should be enough and it would be easier to keep up to date.
How do I update these old copies of Flash? I am wary of just deleting the old copies.... There probably lies trouble!

The way I always used to get old versions of the installer was to download from the link corresponding to the release I wanted. All of these links appear to now point to the same version. Here are the links for the Netscape compatible and ActiveX installers under each of the three listed versions (clearly all pointing to the same file)...

How can I fix this "Adobe two-version" problem, so only the latest version stays enabled, the old version stays DISABLED, and/or uninstall the old version?

I went to my add-ons tab, and I DO, in fact, have two versions of shockwave flash, an 11.9...version, and a 13.9..., which, if I'm not mistaken, is the latest version. There is a "ask to activate, always activate, never activate" button for EVERY add-on. I clicked never activate on the older version, and closed the tab. I then tried to play a video off of the Web. It would not play, I tried another site with the same result, so I went back to my add-on tab, and the button for the older version had changed back to "always activate" by itself. It continues to repeat this, and WILL NOT stay on "never activate". Every few times I return to the add-ons page, THE NEW VERSION IS DISABLED, AS WELL AS THE OLD ONE. I've tried to uninstall the old version, but when I go through control panel, and bring up the folder contents, the old version isn't even there! I've done start, find, and typed in "Adobe", and the old version is NOT FOUND! Both versions keep changing back and forth on the activate button, and they both will disable on their own, no matter how many times I fix it! smh!!

@jscher2000: Didn't mean to lose contact. I still don't have my playback problem solved, if you can believe that. I've downloaded the uninstaller / installer links with someones help that's on this forum, used them in the exact same order. It did nothing to help. However, I was in the process of attempting your solution. I made sure all browsers were closed; in fact, I went offline before this procedure. When I used find, and typed in Shockwave, it came back..."no search results". I recalled a path I had previously used, and had to use it instead of find, C:/ Acer/ Windows/SysWOW64/ Macromed/ and here there were files for Shockwave AND Flash. I opened Shockwave, says " this folder is empty". Flash Player and Flash Util plugin, Util32 Active X, NPSWF32_13_0_0_214.dll...all files appear correct, BUT why aren't there ANY files in the Shockwave folder? NONE of the buttons you describe in your steps to let Firefox "clean up" the pluginreg.dat file show in my window...if I am in the right window. My username is at the top, and it's drop-down is "3 button"+sign out. One says settings, but it doesn't take me to any "help", Trobleshooting info, "show folder", nor any way to exit Firefox or to start it back up. Settings goes to "edit settings", and has a list of checkboxes...all with something to do with threads in one aspect or another, and one concerning private messages. Sounds to me like I don't know what I'm doing, am on entirely the wrong Mozilla /Firefox page, and I'm NEVER, EVER going to get this damn video playback crap fixed once and for all. You might want to look in your control panel for 'Java' icon. It should give you an option to enable java plugin into your browser. Let me know if you still face the issue.

Can I go back to the old version of Firefox?

I am trying to pin-point the cause of problems I am having with my basic one-page website. It does not allow me to upload images. The hosting agent says I have a virus. I did the scan and cleaned up the desktop but the problem remains. I am suspicious of the Firefox update because of the warning it gave during its installation that some "plug-ins" would not function or be available until a later time (or something to that effect). What was that all about and could it affect my website? Can I go back to the old version of Firefox? Maybe I could test if this is a part of the problem.

I've downloaded & installed 7.0-but I can't get it to run. My old version always starts.

When I start Gmail, it tells me that I'm using an old version of Firefox. So I downloaded 7.0 and installed it...but I still get the same Gmail message. Apparently, I'm not able to install 7.0????

Something that you have installed has changed your User Agent or is keeping your User Agent from updating with the new install/update of Firefox. I suspect that it is Fast Browser Search which is shown as part of your User Agent. To get rid of Fast Browser Search do the following:

You're gonna need a Firefox 3.5 version to use that old version of Java, Firefox 3,6 and newer versions require Java 1.6.0_10 or higher with the Next Generation plugin.
Probably best to use [http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Ed./Mozilla%20Firefox%2C%20Portable%20Edition%203.5.19/ Portable Firefox 3.5.19] installed to your hard drive, so you don't mess up your current Firefox installation. The Portable version will install in its' own folder set, with its' own Profile.

Problem removing old versions with customization wizard 8

I'm trying to deploy Acrobat Reader 8 to our XP Professional desktops via Active Directory software installation (Windows Server 2003 domain)
I have obtained the MSI release of Reader 8, customised it using Adobe Customization Wizard 8, and deployed it through AD as per the Adobe documentation. This works as expected for new machines without a previous release of Reader installed.
However for desktops that have Reader 6 or 7 installed, we end up with two versions installed side by side (visible in Add/Remove Programs). Reader 8 works fine at this point. Removing the older version causes the PDF file association that Reader 8 created to be broken, also the Internet Explorer browser plugin is broken. Reader 8 has to be reinstalled manually to fix this issue.
I have read that Reader automatically removes old versions of itself when you install a new version. Additionally, when customising the MSI, "Remove previous version of Reader" is greyed out. However it appears that the installer is not removing old versions.
Any ideas as to a solution?

I have the same problem and i have wasted like 50 hours on this s**t. I'm trying to deploy reader 8 on our 1800 XP workstations with SMS 2003.
The cutomization tool is totally useless. The only way i have came up with is to create a script wich checks if earlier versions of Adobe reader is installed by looking if the installation folders exists (for example c:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader ).
If the installation folders exists, the script would run the uninstallatoin string of the reader using its Windows installer product code, like this:
MsiExec.exe /x /qn {AC76BA86-7AD7-1035-7B44-A70000000000}
Now, the problem with the script is that we have several versions of reader 6 and 7 including 3 different languages. The script or the .BAT file would be quite complicated and the testing is allmost impossible.
I think that it would be much more easier to create a script that deletes all the shotcuts for Adobe reader and then installs a Freeware product for openig PDF files.

Deploy javafx applications on window. + uninstall old version

I have a problem on windows xp when I deploy a new version of my javafx 2.2 application.
The new version is replacing the previous version of my software, but when I look in my 'installed software'. My old version still appears.
(I think this is something to do with registry..)
I'm using wix to have a .msi file for the installer.
Wix is using the build.xml file used by Netbeans.
In my build.xml I specify next values for versioning:

Thanks for the info/suggestions. I had already done the "clean install" without knowing it. I also had uninstalled Firefox and Chrome and was looking at dumping Safari, but I found the culprit file "_Flash Player.plugin" (version10.2.151.49) on a search for "Flash Player" under Spotlight.
Strange thing was the file did not appear when just browsing through the various directories or searching with finder. Removed it and all is good.

Using old version iMovie and import from new camcorder

I got a new camcorder which won't let me import to the old version 4.0.1 Does anyone have any idea how to move the clips to the old version from the 7.1.4 version which is sooo infuriating. The old one was soooo simple to use as I don't need 90% of the NEWER features. I also miss being able to turn one frame into a photo.

As an iLife '08 owner you are also entitled to a free download of iMovie HD v6.0.4 if you want it.

You can open the named_Event folder containing the iMovie '08 imported clips and "drag 'n drop" them to an open previous version of iMovie or you can open the previous version of iMovie, select the "Import" option, navigate to the named_Event folder, select the file(s) you want, and import it/them to the older application.
I also miss being able to turn one frame into a photo.
JPEG images are automatically created in the named_Project folder any time a single frame is selected/added to an iMovie '08 project. They can also be created by QT Pro ($30) or MPEG Streamclip (free) directly from a source video clip.
