Hi,??Just check with you, any brothers here know if there are any shops or promotions that take trade in trade in of old mp3 player for new ones??Wan to trade in my zen micro to get zen V plus...Pls help to advise. Thks in advance

"Creative has HAD Flash-based players for a while... But they have few that are rechargable "
When using a player that takes a AAA battery, just use a rechargeable AAA.
"Apple has just released quantities of TWO and FOUR GIGABYTES!"
Yes, however they aren't practical for many people since they aren't compatible with Yahoo's unlimited music service. Many people would rather get a Zen Micro or Sleek and pay $60 a year to Yahoo to fill up their player with music rather than pay over $,000 to Apple to fill up their 4 gig player with music at 99 cents a song. With the Yahoo service, one can also change the music in their player without additional cost.
"Creative's largest is ONE GB for the Zen Nano and MuVo Micro (both require AA batteries or something... I'd prefer recharagable."
With Creative's Nano and Nano Plus, one can use a rechargeable AAA battery. Rechargeable AAA batteries are great since most chargers can charge 4 at a time. Four nimh AAA rechargeable batteries and a charger can often be purchased for under $20.
With the ipod Nano, once the charge in the built in battery runs out, one can't listen to it until it is recharged. With the Creative Nano Plus, one just switches to another battery(remember I just mentioned how AAA nimh batteries can be conveniently charged 4 at a time?). Taking an ipod Nano on a long trip would be annoying. While the player is small, the notebook computer one would need to carry with it to recharge the player is quite large. I would much rather carry a few extra AAA batteries than a notebook computer(I as many others don't even own a notebook computer).
"I'd love to have a 4 GB flash player. ."
I would also love to have one, but only if it is compatible with Yahoo Music Unlimited, uses a AA or AAA battery, and has a built in radio. That rules out Apple's players on three counts.

  • Itunes to an old rca mp3 player

Are you able to export songs from itunes to rca lyra mp3 player model RD1090A..basicly is itunes compatiable with this mp3 player or can i convert these songs to mp3 format for this player... also when i try upload to player i get error " filepath to deep " something like that...

iTunes for Windows is only compatible with the iPod/iPhone range and the older iTunes enabled phones from Motorola. You need to check out the manual for your player to see what method it uses to import songs. Most will have their own management software and many just operate as simple USB devices and you can drag tracks from the iTunes Music folder rather than through the iTunes interface. Also if your player will not work with AAC (MP4) format at, if you imported anything from CD into iTunes using the AAC encoder then they will need to be converted to MP3: How to convert a song to a different file format format

  • Using plain old mp3 player with iTunes on Mac

    Hi all,
I want to use a plain, old USB MP3 player (mass storage-type) with iTunes on my Mac (OS X 10.4.x). I asked this question over on the Windows iTunes forum at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1264196&tstart=0
and wondered if there's anything that'll work on the Mac.
In Windows, I basically have resorted to drag-n-drop from the iTunes window to a Windows Explorer window showing the USB MP3 player as a removable drive, or to using iTunes Agent (http://ita.sourceforge.net), which is a Windows-only solution.
What's the solution on Mac OS X?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

I think a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous. If you're able to get music onto the player in Windows via drag and drop, I see no reason why that won't work on the Mac as well, provided that your Mac can recognize the drive. I would imagine it can, as I've never come across a PC formatted drive that my Mac didn't recognize.
There is also a freeware application called XNJB that apparently works as an interface between a Mac and a Creative MP3 player. I haven't used either, so can't vouch for them at all.
Just that like I said, a universal "none" is probably a bit presumptuous.

  • How to transfer songs from old MP3 player to Ipod

I have just upgraded to a 30gig Ipod Video. I had a Sony Walkman MP3 player before. I have got a couple of hundred songs on that MP3 player that I want to put on my Ipod. When I plug my old MP3 player into the computer and open Itunes, the songs come up in the Connect Player format (Connect Player is the Sony Walkman software). When I try to add them to Itunes it doesnt do anything or come up with any error message. I know they are the wrong format, how do I change them into a format that will go into Itunes.
    Big Ipod Fan, Birmingham, England.

You need software that will convert the songs to iPod form. You can just google the phrase "iPod Music Converter". And if you cant find anything change the phrase around a little bit.

  • Transferring songs from an old MP3 player to a new o

I have a Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra with 59 songs on it and I also have a Creative Zen Micro Photo. I want to transfer the songs from my old one to my new one. The computer i used to organize the music for my old MP3 player ran on Windows ME. The Zen Micro requires Windows XP, so I installed it on a different computer. How in the hell can I get the music files from one player to the other?

If you've got a CD burner on the computer with ME then you can transfer the songs from the Xtra onto CD (in mp3 format: you should be able to fit a couple of hundred songs on one cd), and then move the CD across and transfer the songs onto the new player.

I have a Sansa mp3 player that is full of tunes I would like to transfer to itunes. I've read other forums, but they are a bit old. Is there  a new way I can do this?

You will need to consult the documentation for the Sansa to learn how to get the tracks off of the player onto your computer. Once they're on the computer, either drag the tracks into the iTunes window or use the Add to Library command under the File menu.

  • Cd/mp3 player was not playing all tunes burned to disk

    Got my Mojo workin'.
    That's a TDK "Mojo" CD-MP3 Digital Jukebox.
Sit back and relax while I tell of my Grand Journey of Exploration. (There is a question below too.)
I had made a some iTunes playlists of MP3s, and decided to burn them on CD-R disks for my portable player. I had them all sorted by Artist and Album. The burn process seemed to go well, but when I loaded the first disk into the Mojo, it seemed to scan the entire disk and count all the tunes. It finished counting after it found all 193 titles. However, when I tried to play them, it would only play the first 26 tunes or so. (Another disk I had burned at the same time (different playlist) gave similar unsatisfactory results, something like 19 out of 186 tunes.) I knew the Mojo was not a current model, and thought maybe there was some weird file incompatibility thing going on.
I popped the disk into my son's CD/MP3 player ("Koss" brand), and it managed to find 30 or 40 of them. A bit better, but not perfect.
I tried it in my DVD player, and it was able to play all 193 tunes. In fact, it loaded and started playing quicker than I had ever seen it do before. It usually thrashes and whirs for an annoyingly long time.
The odd thing was that the Koss was able to play all 76 tunes on another disk I had burned over a year ago, on my wife's Mac, with a version of iTunes for Mac System 9.2. Unfortunately, those files were gone from her Mac so I couldn't see what the iTunes setup was. I was thinking maybe the newer version of iTunes had a bug or something.
Then I inspected the old and new disks in the Finder and noticed that the new disk had a bunch of folders with the Artists' names, and each artist folder had folders within them with Album names, and the tunes were inside those folders.
The old disk (which worked fine in the Mojo player) just had the MP3 files and no folders whatsoever. I knew I was onto something, but I couldn't figure out how to burn a folder-less MP3 disk from iTunes, as opposed to doing it manually via the Finder.
I searched Apple.com > Support > Discussions > iTunes for Mac > Importing & Burning in iTunes for Mac yet again, this time using "folders" for the search term, and up popped several threads where people wanted files organized by folders on disks:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1464192
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1791538
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=781976
... which brought me to the document "iTunes: How to set the play order of songs on an MP3 CD", at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60931
So, I removed the columns for "Artist" and "Album" names from the playlist, and burned it, et voila! it worked just fine in my Mojo, which plays all 193 tunes. (Too bad I didn't fix the ID3 tags beforehand.)
    Now, for points:
I had the playlist sorted by Artist, and here are the first four titles (of 193)
    Title ____________ Artist____________
Relative Ways ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
Mistakes & Regrets ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    Jubilation 20 Minute Loop
    Queen of Pain Alkaline Trio
Muffin57 All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors
    ... etc.
Then when I remove the "Artist" column so that it only shows the Titles, it resorts like this:
    Title ____________
    Blacken My Thumb
    Buckler
    After School Thunder
    Futuristic Genitalia
Once In A Lifetime (Cul De Sac)
    ... etc.
This is not the same as it was, nor is it alphabetical by Title.
If I click on the Title column header of course, it is ordered alphabetically by title, like this:
    Title ____________
    (Do Not Feed The) Oyster
    (Got My) Rock Pants On
    3 Away
    27
    68
    Adventures In Conversation
    After School Thunder
    Algorithm Of Desire
    Alive and Amplified
    ... etc.
Other than dragging all 193 tunes, one at a time, in order manually, how can I keep the original play order by Artist, without creating folders on the burned CD?
There is talk of "Copy to Play Order" in the iTunes Help/Support files...
To use this command, Control-click one of the songs in the playlist,
and choose "Copy to Play Order" from the shortcut menu. Tip: These
steps also apply to a playlist you have reordered directly (by clicking
on one of the column headers like Artist or Album).
... but I don't see that option when I Control-click anything. The bottom menuitem in the popup menu is "Clear". Same results with Right-clicking.
    300 MHz "Blue & White" G3   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   iTunes 6.0.5

Hmm. I see that the spaces have been chopped out in part of my first post, and it appears that I cannot edit it.
For clarity's sake, these are the Artists' names, in the partial listing for Ordered by Artist example in my previous post:
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead
    20 Minute Loop
    Alkaline Trio
All Natural Lemon And Lime Flavors

  • IPOD Touch is an MP3 player ???

    hi,
Had some various replies that iPOD touch is an iPOD mp3 player foremost. This is the reply that we get due to some basic features missing in some of the other apps.
All good, no worries, as it is a mp3 player after all.
    Here is my question:
When in any other iPOD Touch App (e.g. MAIL, MAPS, Safari, etc.) and have the mp3 player playing a song how do I:
    Change the Volume
    Forward
    Pause, etc.
At this stange it seems like I need to Navigate back to the Music player and the use the normal hot buttons.
Is there any sort of shortcut where we can do the normal mp3 player functions (volume, pause, next song, etc.) without navigating all the way back. It is a bit annoying and seems like the old iPOD was better here as the mp3 player operating buttons were always available.
(someone said that the iPhone has some buttons on the side to control the volume. So no need to navigate back to the music player to do this. However, am not sure how the other functions can be accessed without navigating all the way back).
Does my question make sense> ?
    Message was edited by: iTunes_user

thanks. it works if you are really fast and use your nail.
maybe it would be better if we could tap on the iPOD top right play icon to bring up a basic menu with functions for the mp3 player.

What other functions do you think Apple should add to the home button double (use your nail) press?

  • Can I transfer my itunes to a MP3 player?  newbie, help please

Hi, I need your help. I have a HP Media Center PC with all bells and whistles. I just learned about itunes. I downloaded a free song. I have also gotten 5 songs for free from a website called Connect (run by Sony).
what I was expecting to do was to go to Radio shack and purchase an MP3 player for $59.99. It's about all I can afford.
then I found out that the songs I downloaded from Connect cannot be transferred to an mp3 player unless it is a Sony MP3 player. The mp3 player in Radio Shack was not a Sony. but I did ask the salesman if I could do itunes with this and he said "sure". but I'm not sure now. I have read about all kinds of formats with downloading these songs. such as OPENMG format and something called ATRAC. See where I'm getting confused?
What I need to know is this: If I purchase songs from itunes and it goes on my hard drive, can I then purchase the mp3 player and transfer the songs so I can go for a walk and play my mp3 player. I can't afford an ipod.
Do I have to buy a special mp3 player to be able to use itunes. I can't find any information on this on the site.
I am a disabled person and could use some help.
thanks to anybody who can help me. Just need to know exactly what I should be buying to play songs on and do I have to download the songs in a special way or does itunes just do it for me. Also, I don't have an apple computer. but I have an APPLE user ID. Very confusing.

Okay, let me see if I have this right.
I have a HP Pavillion Media Center. this should allow me to burn cds, right? I have never done this in my life but believe me I learn fast. I have two drives that I'm looking at right now on my tower.
The top drive says LightScribe DVD+-/CD Writer
The other drive says CD rom.
I presume, to burn a cd (or whatever it's called), I use the top Lightscribe thing, right?
so I guess I have to get a blank cd rewritable thing, place it in the top drive and copy the sonic stage (sony) songs onto that right? then I can get the ipod and transfer from the newly burned cd into the ipod, right?
I have absolutely no idea how to accomplish this but I'm willing to at least do the first step and burn the cd.
Now, here's my question. Many years ago, when I had my other HP pavillion,it came with a re-writable drive. I tried to burn something to it and I did not know what I was doing. I do remember that the cd was some kind of RW thing.
I probably have one of those in my house. They are over 5 years old. Is this what I have to use to put the songs on it.
do I have to go to the computer store and buy a new blank cd-rw (if that is indeed what I will be using).
I want to know exactly what kind of blank cd thing I have to put in the drive. And do I use the one marked Lightscribe.
See, once I know what to do, I'll figure out how to do it.
I'm going to search my room to find one of the old blank ones but I won't use it until you say, "yes, use it.".
I know I used to have a case of them. Never used them but they are still around.
Are they still compatible with my windows xp, HP Pavillion media center.
And I should tell you what I tried to do last night. I was researching all about converting files and I saw something that said "drag the files into your itunes folder and you should have the songs in their". so stupid me, I go to my start menu, open up the explore thing, I find the "sonic stage" thing, I see the itunes thing, I dragged and sonic stage into the itunes thing and sure enough, right in front of me a little message popped up showing me it was "copying files to itunes". So I said "holy sh*t, I actually did it", "i'm going to see my songs in my itunes folder". Well, that didn't happen. I opened up my itunes library and only my original itunes song was there. No songs from the sonic stage library was put in.
I have no idea what was copied into what. So what exactly did I do?
thanks for any help about the cd burning thing.
I mean, I have this HP Pavillion Media Center and I want to be able to figure out how to use it before I turn 80.
    Thanks much.

  • MP3 Player does not show in finder.

I used to have a 1st gen iPod Touch, but that went through the wash and no longer functions. I am now using my backup player which is the first MP3 player I ever owned. It's a Philips GoGear HDD6330 player. The issue I'm having is similar to another issue I had awhile back with my camera. Actually, it's the same problem. When I plug the MP3 player into the MacBook USB Port, it shows up in the System Profiler, but does not appear in the Finder window as an external HDD (which it can indeed be used for when the installed firmware is bypassed as it can be in Windows). In Windows XP, the properties window of the HDD inside the player is that it is a Generic Hierarchical file system. I don't know if that has anything to do with the issue, but I thought I'd mention it anyways.
I did a search of the community posts, and found several posts stating that I would need to use Disk Utility in order to gain access to the HDD. The problem with this is that I didn't have Disk Utility on my machine for some reason. I say "Didn't" because I recently used Pacifist to recover the App from the Install Disks. However, the version that was on the install disks was not compatible with 10.5.7. In the same post that I found the information about Pacifist (which I will link you to shortly) the last few lines state that after the app is installed, that the Combo Updater should be run to bring the app up to date as well as stating that the permissions need to be repaired. I don't know what that means or how to do it.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6950717&#6950717
I found the download for the Combo Update for 10.5.7, downloaded it, and ran the install program that was in the package which the .dmg file contained. Everything went smoothly, and I rebooted my MacBook. The Disk Utility app was still not up to date with the OS version. So I ran Pacifist again, only this time I extracted the app from the update installer package, and installed it (after getting rid of the old file that was not compatible with 10.5.7). This version (11.1) is indeed compatible, but it will not launch and also has the default application Icon with the paper, pen, pencil, and ruler. Pictures will be included.
At this point I don't know how to get Disk Utility to work, and I'm not even sure if using Disk Utility will give me access to my players HDD. Apple Tech won't talk to me because my MacBook is out of warranty, and there's no way in **** I'm paying for a service that should not have to pay for.

  • C7 - mp3 player

Hi, I've recently updated my 6303 to C7 I have problem with mp3 player. I like to listen music from various artist group in on file directory ( mix of music). In 6303 I could play music from file directory (player played all pieces in directory), in C7 player plays only one piece and thats all. I can't create playlist, because I have to add piece by piece, but in 6303 I could add all directory. Help me please, is there any other player I could use? Or maybe Nokia release new firmware that fix my problem?

I understand your problem well, as I had the same problem with my old 6120c. I assumed Nokia would have solved this problem on my C7. Are you sure you were able to play a whole folder on another Nokia phone?
When you play a song from the file directory it's as if the phones explorer is playing the song. It's not possible to use any of the mp3 players functions, such as creating a playlist when you play music from a folder.
The solutions I've come up with are the following:
SOLUTION 1. create a playlist on your computer and copy the files to a folder (media monkey works great for this). In that folder select all tracks and rename the album to the name you wish for the playlist. This way when you copy the folder to your C7 you can find the playlist in the music library of the mp3 player. However, before the album/artist shows up in the music library, you have to select "refresh library" from the options.
Unfortunately another problem with the C7 is that you cannot search for albums or artists separately, but only artists and albums combined. When you find the album, under an arbitrary artist's name (not the first in the list) you can hold your finger down on the album and choose "add to playlist" and create a playlist from the whole album.
SOLUTION 2. Make sure all your mp3s are correctly tagged with the artist names and albums and browse through your library adding on track at a time....
Wouldn't it be great if the programmers saved us users time by actually fixing such problems and programming a user-friendly mp3 player?
When using the MP3 Player on the C7 I get the feeling the programmers never used an MP3 player. They're still listening to cassettes while programming. Even my old 6120's mp3 player had better library browsing: including separate menus for tracks, artists, albums, track lists, genres and composers and an option to search in all these menus!
    Hope I helped you out!

  • Where can I get my mp3 player fi

I just recently dropped my 3-year old Creative Zen Touch mp3 playa on the sidewalk and now it doesn't scroll making it pretty much useless. I've had problems with the buttons in the past not doing what they are supposed to do and the headphone jack sometimes cuts out the right side when I move it at an angle. Any idea where I can rectify these problems? Warranty repair I think is pretty much out since it's been so long and I never registered it or anything. Thanks,Dana

You could try a third-party repair service (find them using Google) but if there's a lot of damage (which sounds like it could be) then it may make more financial sense to look for a second-hand/refurbished Touch on somewhere like eBay. I picked a 40GB refurbished Touch for ?30 ($60) like new, boxed with all accessories on eBay, so maybe that may be an option!

  • Which MP3 Player Should I buy?

After using a MP3 player in my clunky  5 year old cell phone for years, I'd like to buy a player.  I understand that the I-tunes program that my sister downloaded onto my computer, along with her songs will only play on an Apple I-Pod.  Does that mean I have to buy an I-Pod, or can I use her songs on a different MP3 player?  Is the quality the same for the different brands?  I wouldn't be a fan of the monopoly that Apple has  if I can avoid it.  I just want something light to use for excercise, perhaps a Nano or Sony with 16 GB or so.
    Thanks

Nokia is correct the iTunes files are in .m4a format. However you can easily right click on the song in iTunes and select "Create ___ Version". I left that blank in there because iTunes has different conversion options like convert it to mp3, acc, apple lossless, wav or aiff. I should also note this will not affect the original song. It will just make a second copy of it with one being the original in .m4a format and the second being in whatever format you selected.
