Older already purchased songs

Is there a way to re download songs that I purchased over a year ago on another computer. Have been without a computer until recently and IPod Touch has been on the fritz. Had a friend sync on his system but of course lost all my downloads. Lots of money and time at stake here. Any help would be great. Thanks ahead of time.
Dan

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system or you otherwise lose access to it. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If you don't have a backup of your purchased items and can't get them off of your iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
Regards.

If possible you need to upgrade OS X. However, what you can upgrade to is dependent on what your Mac hardware and configuration is which you have not provided in your profile.

  • Re-Downloading already purchased songs

I recently had to wipe our computer due to corrupted files. I was under the impression that I saved all of the music that we had purchased and downloaded from itunes, however when I went back to retrieve it I could not find its location. Is there any way to re-download our already purchased songs onto our computer again since we have already paid for them?
    HELP!

Hello, MamaBex, and welcome to the Discussions.
Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and don't have them on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you have your tracks on an iPod or have them backed up (on CDs/DVDs, on an external hard drive, or some other external medium), post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting) and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
    Good luck.

  • TS1389 Need to authorize this computer already purchased songs

Need an authorization for this computer already purchased songs?

You can authorise your account via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option - if you are using a PC and the menus aren't showing at the top of iTunes then control-B should get them to show.

how do i transfer already purchased songs from my computer to my new iPhone

Connect the phone to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if the left-hand sidebar isn't showing then control-S should get it to show) and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select the music that you want in the phone's Music app and and sync/apply that selection.

  • HT201272 Downloading already purchased songs/albums... PLEASE HELP!

Okay.... I need help pleeeeaaase! I've exhausted all efforts
I have purchased and downloaded songs/albums... overall experience is great, however, every now and then after the download has completed I only got part of the song (like min 40 seconds or a minute)! I have tried everything I can think of. What's irritating is that it doesn't happen all the time, so I don't think it's a conection or firewall issue. I just want to listen to my songs/slbums in it's entirty... bah, especially because it's paid for. Never had this issue when I was buying CD's LOL
So... How do I download already purchased items without paying for it again? I've tried to do it through iTunes but it says it's already downloaded. Now what?
Any help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

  • Already purchased song

I would like to use a song I have already purchased in Itunes for a ringtone. I am a little confused. Do I need to purchase it again to use as ringtone on my iphone?
    Thanks..

No. Go up to View and down to options and make sure the ringtone box is checked. Then a song with a Bell Icon next to it, click it and it will come up to make a ringtone. Make it and buy the ringtone for $.99

  • Can't access already purchased songs

Hello! My hard drive died, and I had to put a new one in my old computer. Although I managed to use mexi's ipod copy to copy the songs from my ipod back into itunes, it won't let access the ones I have already purchased from iTunes. Is there any way I can get hold of all of those songs? I have spent a fair amount of money on them. Thanks!

In the end after fiddling and constantly retrying, the old bought songs were all added to the library, save on for some strange reason.

  • How to redownload already purchased songs and albums

my old computer crashed and all my songs where on it and my ipod touch stoped working...how do i redownload already purchased items without paying? i dont want to pay again for music i already had and lost due to a computer crash...please let me know

[Disussion: Zevoneer's post on replacing music downloaded from iTunes music Store|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8794716] - basically it is up to the individual to ensure their music is backed up against loss. Sometimes Apple will grant a second download but it is purely at their discretion.

Click here and follow the instructions.
do I have to get the old music off my other harddrive and add it
Basically, yes. There are other ways to download the previous purchases, but none of them are worth doing when you have any access to what you've already downloaded.
