Older epson 1250 Scanner doesn't show in PSE 6 (mac)

I have an epson 1250 several years old. It doesn't show in PSE6 for import. It does show in preview so I can scan that way. I recently dowloaded the latest driver for the 1250, didn't help.

You don't ever open plugins. You just put them where they should be and access them through the program itself.
Thanks that is good to know
Epson's driver support for older scanners is very spotty. Did you try installing the older utility, as I suggested?
That is a dead end - back to mac classic days. No I think I have the right driver. It works with the  mac preview app and if i open it from system preferences. But I use PSE 6 a lot and would like to be able to scan with it. I installed the rosetta software and restarted the computer. I guess it may be time to call it quits unless you have another idea? Thanks for trying.

  • Epson 2480 Scanner doesn't show up in File Import menu in PSE 6

    Hi
    I'm on:
    Intel iMac
    Mac OS X 10.5.8
I recently upgraded from PSE 4 to PSE 6 and everything is fine. It delivers everything I expected but for one little thing.
Il have been using my Epson 2480 scanner with PSE 4 for years both on G4 and Intel based Macs. I never had an issue. The driver used to be listed in the File>Import menu.
After installing PSE 6 I uninstalled the Epson driver and installed the updated version.
The Adobe authored TWAIN.plugin is correcty installed in the Adobe Photoshop Elements 6/Plug-Ins/ImportModules.
It still works in PSE 4.
Yet it isn’t listed as it should in PS6. Did I miss something?
    TIA
    Nick

    Bingo!
I don’t repair permissions often. I probably should;)
I’ll check the Rosetta box when I need to scan stuff and I’ll let it unchecked the rest of the time. PSE 6 works perfectly well as it is.
BTW I read in the PS forum people say it was as shame to use a sophisticated soft like PS for such a trivial job as scanning. They suggested one could just use the scanner dedicated soft. I found the argument ludicrous. If I need to process the images with PSE it’s darn convenient to get them with PSE in the first place. Thanks to you I'll be able to do so.
Thanks for your help and patience, Barbara.
    Regards.

  • PHotoshop CS4 - scanner doesn't show up in File - Import

    Hello,
I have an Epson Perfection 4180 scanner, and Photoshop CS4 extended and a Mac OSX 10.6.3.  I installed photoshop but the scanner doesn't show up under the File>Import menu. Normally it be there, i'd click it, and it launches the scanner within photoshop.
I found some info on google which suggested to look in a  folder on the installation DVD called "Goodies"
In there is a folder called Optional "Plug-Ins"
In there is a folder called "Import-Export"Where i found a file called TWAIN.plugin
I put the file into Adobe Photoshop CS4/Plug-ins/Import-Export but it still doesn't appear in photoshop file > import.
Any ideas on what i should do?
    Many thanks
    Rossella

    Use the stand-alone application.
And/or do a Forum search for »CS4 scanner« – that should turn up a couple threads.

  • My scanner doesn't show up in the"please select a device list" windows 7 - HP7300 all-in-one

In acrobat X-my scanner doesn't show up in the "please select a device list" how do I get it to see my scanner? - windows 7 - HP 7300 all-in-one

In case anyone else finds this thread I did end up getting mine to work (after abut 48 hours of pulling my hair out). The "solution" was simple in my case, but it might have been a coincidence. I turned the wireless off on my phone for a different reason - then I when I turned it back on the device instantly appeared in spotify-desktop! I had already factory reset my phone, so I know that establishing a connection to the wireless was not the problem in the first place. Also, I was able to play music on my phone, so I know that it was hooked up to the wireless (I turned off 3g just to be sure).
But for some reason when I toggled the wireless off then on again - it worked. Go figure.

Hi there! I have the Epson GT-20000 scanner and It doesn't work wiressly anymore in Mac OS 10.8.4. I'm so dissapointed!!
My last MacBook was running under Mac OS 10.5.8 and I never experienced this kind of troubles before!
Why It has to be so complicated when It's suposed to be easier???
Any suggestions?? (pls consider that return to my old Macbook is not a valid suggestion)
    Thank's a lot!

  • New scanner doesn't show up, old scanner still available

    Hi,
I got a new Epson V700 to replace my Canon scanner.
The V700 works fine using both the SilverFast software (Epson-SE vers. 6.6.2r5) and Image Capture.
I am running Photoshop CS5 in 32 bit mode and the old scanner shows up in the drop down menu ->File ->Import
But the new scanner does not.
    Ideas anyone?
    Thanks,
    Steve
    CS5 ver. 12.0.4 x32
    iMac7,1
    Memory:          4 GB
    Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549)

I would say that it's obvious you did not install the twain plug-in for the new scanner—if it came with one.
But scanning from within Photoshop is the height of inefficiency.  You're not even using Photoshop to scan at all, Photoshop has no scanning capabilities at all, you're just tying up the Photoshop application to call upon the scanner's software to scan and then bring the scanned image into Photoshop.
If you use SilverFast, or VueScan, or the scanner's stand-alone scanning software, you can continue to work in Photoshop while the scanning is going on in the background.

  • Epson CX5000 driver doesn't show up on Epson model list when I add printer

I am trying to add an Epson CX5000 to my printer list. The printer is connected to a windows PC running XP. While I have no problem finding the printer and making the connection, when I get to the point of picking the model in the drop down printer list in the Print&Fax system utility window, the CX5000 isn't listed even though I just downloaded and installed the driver. I even went through the whole routine of deleting all of the Epson folders in the HD>Library>Printers folder and the Epson Receipt in the Receipts folder, restarting, reinstalling the Epson driver package epson11939cx5k_printer_driver30ba.
I went ahead and just picked another model that appeared close - the CX5100 - but everything prints wrong. (sheet after sheet of blank paper spitting out!) Any ideas?

    Hi,
THe CX5000 & CX5100 seem to not be even closely related... go figure.
Have you tried Installing Bonjour for Windoes® on the PC... I think we need to get it seen by the Mac for what it is...

  • Email in gmail doesn't show up in mac mail app

I was looking for a specific email and searched the mail app by date and keywords and couldn't find it. Then I went to gmail on chrome and searched for it using the same keywords and found it. Why doesn't it show up in the mail app?

Hello. I got a similar issue. My iTunes 9 and my iPhone 3GS 3.1 works fine, they sync and so on. I got tethering service from my carrier and it worked fine using USB and Bluetooth with my MacBook. I don't know what happened but now it works only with Bluetooth. The ethernet adapter ˜Ethernet Adapter (enX)" - as shown in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2756 - is missing.
I can't find a way to recreate that iPhone adapter. When I try to tether thru USB nothing happens (no blue bar in iPhone), no adapter is recognized/created. When I tether thru Bluetooth everything works fine.
Does anyone know how to reset iPhone ethernet config in Mac OS? Thank you.

  • Sony Ericsson geo-tagging doesn't show up on Mac

So I have a Sony Ericsson T715, which has triangulation geo-tagging for photos, I can see their location through the phone no problem.
However, when I import them via the Bluetooth File Browser to my Mac and import them into iPhoto '09, their location does not show up
Why is this? How should I import them so that this information stays? (Was a reason why I bought this phone.)
I tried looking at the phone/importing through Image Capture, but it doesn't seem to work... keeps randomly opening iPhoto and showing nothing. In Image Capture it shows the photos, but I can't import them - just says it's importing, but does nothing in the end.

  • Tethering - Ethernet Adapter doesn't show up on Mac in System Preferences

Hi. When I to connect my iPhone 3G to a MacBook Air I have no "Ethernet Adapter (X)" in the Network section of System Preferences. It doesn't auto detect anything, I can't find it under the "+" button.
On another Mac it works. The problem seems to the with this MacBook Air. Seems to be a USB detection problem. It is as if the iPhone is not seen on USB as an Ethernet Adapter.
I have searched a lot on the forums and there is no answer. Can you help?

  • The "option" button doesn't show up on Mac OS X install

My hardrive died in original Macbook Pro. Got a SSD 840 pro 256gb and 8gb of ram.
i installed the disk that came originally with Pro and procced to install.
whe i reach the " select destinaion " screen nothing shows up in the main box area. And the Option in bottom left corner is un clickable.
    WHY is this!!???

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Did you format the SSD? Remember that it must be formatted in order to install an operating system, so close the Mac OS X installer, open Disk Utility and format it > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html

  • External hard drive doesn't show up on Mac Mini

Working with pre-installed Snow Leopard on a Mac Mini.
External firewire hard drive does not show up on desktop or in sidebar. Also tried the same hard drive connected with USB. Tried another USB drive -- nothing.
    What can I try?

If those have a pre-existing format that works with those earlier machines, they may not show as bootable drives....they need to be set up with a GUID map as mentioned. But they should still show up in Disk Utility at least...
If they worked on those other computers, then you should try the Apple article listed above to see if all that is needed is to get the FW ports to cooperate.
If no joy there, try resetting some of the basic hardware involved (PRAM~NVRAM). See this Apple KB for details, etc.:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
If still no joy, walk it in to the nearest Apple Store for a quick hands on.
    Good luck in any case.

  • WD 320gb external hard drive doesn't show up on mac

I just bought a 320gb Western Digital external hard drive. When I plug it into my mac (OS X 10.4.11), nothing shows up on the desktop. I also don't see it anywhere on "Finder". When I plug it into my family's PC it works correctly and I can find the hard drive and put files on it. Any suggestions for being able to access the hard drive from my mac?
    Thanks.

Prep the drive for the Mac:
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. If you need to reformat your startup volume, then you must boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
