Older IPOD - cannot get Itunes to work now after 7.01 downloaded

I got a prompt to download 7.01, so like a 'do be' I did. Thing is, I don't have video, and QuickTime said it could not run unless I had a 'key'. I logged back on, and the key is $30.00 approx...if it was only 5 dollars, maybe I'd get it. So I uninstalled Quicktime, and now Itunes won't run at all. How do I go back? I'm not even sure what the prior version of Itunes was.
I guess my other question is, why would I get prompted about a new version of Itunes when I have an older IPOD that does not have video?
thanks...

Please sort out the V 11.1.4 problems as I cant get iTunes to work now. You need to have a new version asap

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • HT4623 iPhone 5 Upgraded to iOS7 but cannot get iTunes to work!

? iPhone 5 Upgraded to iOS7 but cannot get iTunes App to work!
The iTunes App opens but does not show anything! e.g. blank screen only. Tries to connect and sometimes gives message "Cannot connect to iTunes store". I can see top and bottom bar icons like Music, Films, TV, Search which each launch a new blank screen only. I can even get to Purchased option which still gives a blank screen. Have restored twice but result is the same.
    Advice welcome.

Discovered the fix to no iTunes due to another separate App problem that locked up after iOS7 upgrade. To fix, goto "Settings", "Safari", "Privacy and Security" and set the "Block Cookies" to "From third parties and advertisers". Exit Settings and restart the iPhone. Works for my blank screen iTunes issue.

  • After Recovery cannot get iTunes to work

    Hi,
My system recently crashed and I had to do a system recovery. Now iTunes shows, but when I try to start it I get an error message:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 6.0.3.5 ModName: unknown
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 10001040
that the system wants to send to Microsoft. I haven't dared to uninstall iTunes for fear I'll lose all my downloaded music. I download and try 'repair' but to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I did a search and every post I read had just a little different spin than my issue.

Hello there, I have had a problem with my ITUNES for a while now and my question somewhat relates. I have been using ITUNES for a while, not just recently downloaded like AC. I believe for a month or two my itunes has not worked. I open ITUNES and without even showing up, it quits itself. For a while I tried the MSCONFIG trick, but even with that it really doesn't help becuase it eventually quits itself. I just tried the 'deleting the quicktime then repairing the ITunes, but that didn't do anything. On good days, when it does show up for about a minute after the MSCONFIG, once I try to add music it quits. Please help me. I am in need of some serious help. Thanks so much

  • I keep getting an apple application support missing error. Therefore I cannot get Itunes to work on my PC.

I have downloaded ITunes numerous times on my PC so I can sync with my Ipad and Iphone. I get "congratulations" you have downloaded ITunes followed by a message stating that apple application support is missing. Is there a way to download this as a stand alone?

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • New User Cannot get Itunes to work - Setup Assistant Not Showing

I'm hoping somebody can help me. I have been trying for hours now to install Itunes on Windows XP.
It downloads, I run it, it installs, but doesn't seem to bring up the Set-up Assistant. After I click Finish on the first set up menu, it does nothing. So I then go and click the shortcut to start Itunes and to sync it with the Ipod Touch, but nothing happens.
I have watched the set up video and can't see what is wrong.
Edited to add: I don't get any error messsages while trying to install Itunes.
I have a very unhappy 13 year old who can't enjoy his birthday present!

    Hi GennoAustralia,
To license your already installed products running in trial, please follow below instructions:
    1. Remove all adobe entries present in host file. Host file is located at: C:\Windows\System32\\drivers\etc\hosts(win)  and /private/etc/hosts(mac)
    2. Launch any of your product, you want to license.Follow step a) or b) whichever applicable:
    a) If you have bought subscription for same adobe id which you used while installing your product in trial, you will get a "Sign In" screen. Click on "SIgn In", your      product is now licensed.
    b) If your adobe id having subscription is different from adobe id used while installing product in trial, a trial screen which has two butttons : "License This Software" and "Continue Trial" is shown. Click on "License This Software". On next screen,  click on "Not your Adobe Id" and enter the adobe id carrying subscription.
You will now be able to license your product.
    Thanks,
    Manjri

  • Cannot get Itunes to work

I tunes does not see my nano. Windows does (Winxp sp2) and identifies it as an ipod. It charges etc. I have tried different usb ports, and an add in usb card. I have tried ALL of the troubleshooting steps on the site. Any ideas?

Well, I tried all suggestions and it did not work. However what I did do was get Xplay, and that works like a charm. I have to say I am VERY dissapointed in itunes. If xplay works there is nothing wrong with my pc or the nano, it is simply poor software that seems to have very widespread compatibility issues. Considering the huge price of the Nano this is very annoying to me. Also, the lack of support for almost anything but itunes makes this even worse. If they are going to force itunes on us it should at least WORK

  • Please help!! I cannot get iTunes to work!

I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times. Each time I get an error that says "Apple Application Support was not found.  Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes.  Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2 (Windows error 2)"
Does anyone know how to fix this??

I suggested several things to GeekyNerdGirl in her first post here. Take a look.
My iPad is in what seems like permanent restore mode after iOS 7.2 update?
It can take more than a few attempts before Recovery Mode will work and you have to follow the steps exactly. DFU mode is even harder to perform correctly beside of the 10 second hold. Don't stop trying. Eventually one of these methods could work for you.

  • Cannot get iTunes 12.0 to install with OS 10.10

i have 2009 iMac with 4GB memory 3.06ghz intel core 2 duo.  i have updated OS to Yosemite two day ago.  i cannot get iTunes 12 to install.  the dmg downloads and i go through the process of installation and get the install completed successfully.  cannot find iTunes anywhere on computer   i have tried restarting after install and still no iTunes

You can find iTunes in three places:
In the Dock, between FaceTime and iBooks icons.
In Launchpad: open it and you will find the iTunes icon.
In Finder: open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and open iTunes.
Note that iTunes may show up with the old icon the first time you open it, but it will be updated. Note that the latest iTunes version is 12.0.1, so if you do not have this version, open the Mac App Store, go to Updates and install the most recent version
