Older Kid's Games don't recognize QT 7.2 in Vista???

I've been setting up my Mac Mini for dual boot with Windows Vista recently. I have a lot of older kid's games (made for Win 98) which are not Intel Mac compatible (so they can't be run in classic).
One of my titles "Buzz Lightyear's First Grade" requires Quicktime in order to run. I had installed Quicktime 7.2 (along with iTunes for Windows), but I get an error message that I need "QT 4.000 or greater". For some reason, the newer version of Quicktime is not being recognized when the game is starting.
When I re-install the game and the version of Quicktime on the CD (version 4.0) the game works perfectly. Unfortunately, this breaks my iTunes install.
Does anyone know how I can get these games to recognize the newer versions of Quicktime?

Thanks for your suggestions, Kirk. I actually did install 4.0 from the kid's CD, but that broke iTunes. I may try it on its own user account, though.
Launching the game manually doesn't help. I don't know how to change the file properties to work with the newer version of QT. I tried manually editing the packages (like you sometimes can do with OSX applications, say to install iWork 08 on older system versions), but couldn't find where the QT check occurs.
I just bought this refurb Mac Mini for the kids, so I don't really want to shell out for a bulky, ugly, slow PC. Since the Mini doesn't come with a keyboard/mouse, I'm using an old set which has seen worse than spilled grape juice : )

Thanks. I had tried that, but was still having problems. Then I realized that I was using three addresses on both devices. Once I changed it to only one email on one iPad and a different email on the other, it worked great. Your message encouraged me to dig deeper and think differently. It worked. Thanks again!

Computer AND iTunes don't recognize my iPod touch. Comp thinks it is a camera. iTunes won't bring up devices at all. I've already uninstalled iTunes and QT and reinstalled after problem that happened when I updated iTunes... getting beyond P/Oed!!!

I've already uninstalled iTunes and QT and reinstalled after problem that happened when I updated iTunes - updated iTunes completely demolished my computer's ability to recognize the sound card and computer had NO sound at all. I had to uninstall iTunes, QT, AND my sound card and reinstall them all. Sound worked fine, but now I can't sync my iPod. Computer recognizes that "something" is hooked up (thinks it might possibly be a camera) and I get that "open with" window. In "my computer" it shows that there is an "iPod" connected, but it is pictured as a camera. In iTunes my username is no longer appearing (although account info is there) and NO devices whatsoever get listed. There is nothing wrong with my USB ports or cable. And of course Apple won't help anyone unless you pay them to. ... I am getting beyond P/Oed!!! You pay hundreds for a product and all you get are headaches with their stupid bug infested software and no support at all.
Can anyone out there help me clean up this unbelievable mess Apple and iTunes has created in my computer?

After three completely wasted days trying to figure all of this out I finally got it fixed - on my own - by reading dozens and dozens of rogue posts in indie forums from people that refuse to dish out money to have a company TRY and advise possible fixes on their own glitches.
(here's a novel idea - fix the glitches Apple. Or - don't send out updates filled with bugs in the first place)
Everything (several applications) had to be uninstalled in a very specific order and then restarted , then it all had to be verified with manual deletions of leftovers, and emptying the recycle bin, then another restart, then iT had to be reinstalled again and the system restarted again, and two more update downloads. Holy!!!
I love my little iPod touch, but I honestly must say, when this kind of thing happens (and it has several times now when I try to deal with iTunes or Apple), it makes me want to flush it down the toilet.

Your iCloud account is tied to your Apple ID account - if you go into System Preferences>iCloud>Account Details, you'll see the associated email address. If you need to change your iCloud prefs, change your Apple ID - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/.

After installing boot amp and windows 7 the Mac mini run always under window 7, don't recognize the wireless keyboard. Normally I have to push the power button and alt to return on the Mac interface but now it's impossible. Do you have any idea how I could run the Mac interface from window ?

Opening Blend, I'm met with TWO device choices my Z10 and another that I don't recognize

Actually, when I first open Bland on Samsung Tab S, I see my Z10. I enter the Password. It goes through some process and then I am met with TWO device, the Z10 and Device-xxxx where I guess XXXX is some partial PIN number but I don't recognize it. So I then have to reselect the Z10 and again enter its password. Basically logging in TWICE. Somewhat irritating but I'm more curious what's the other device and how do I eliminate it. Going to BBID site I don't see any place to specify devices associated with my BBID. And it is not the partial PIN of either of my Playbooks (heaven forbid Blend from supporting BB's own devices).

ON a PC, login to www.bbid.com and see if that device is still listed and you can remove it there.

Office 365 Web Portal - We don't recognize this user ID or password

We are currently in the process of rolling out Office 365 in our organisation. This deployment is to 80-90 users, for up to 10 users i am having the following issue.
Users appear to be successfully syncing from our AD to the O365 cloud using DirSync. I have verified this by changing an attribute of an AD user and
performing a sync and confirmed the changed attribute is shown in the O365 administrative portal.
When attempting to activate the Office suite after installation the activation fails stating that the username or password is incorrect. When this
user attempts to login to the online portal at portal.office.com the user receives a "We don't recognize this user ID or password". I have confirmed that the user id and password are correct and that the user is listed in the admin portal and has
the relevant subscription assigned to them.
From within the O365 admin portal (where i am a global administrator) i have blocked this user from being allowed to sign in or access services within
the user’s settings screen. On attempting to sign in with this user on the O365 portal it informs me that the user is blocked and I need to contact an administrator. This is what I’d expect, to me this confirms that the user I am manipulating in the O365 portal
is correct, but after allowing sign in once again on the user’s settings page I receive the same “We don’t recognize this user ID or password” error message.
Is this something anyone else has come across and successfully resolved in the past? If more detail is required to assist let
me know.

When I go into Safari -- Preferences -- Passwords, there is a website/username/password that I don't recognize. Myself and my husband are the only ones that use my computer.
The website is listed as "--https" with a username that ends in @type1 (I don't know what that is) and an odd password. Can I delete this? Where did this come from?

Make sure you have inadvertently turned on private browsing on your phone. It will not sync iCloud tabs if private browsing is turned on. There are some other troubleshooting steps you can look through here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5372.

I have a DVD that iDVD and iMovie don't recognize

I have a DVD that iDVD and iMovie don't recognize. It was a VHS tape that I had turned into a DVD by an outfit called The Video Lab.
I have OS X 10.3.9, iDVD 5, iMovie HD
When I put this DVD into the superdrive it opens the DVD Player and will play on my Mac. It is apparently divided into 28 5 minute chapters or at least if I hit the skip icon it says Chapter 2, 5 minutes time showing.
Anyway the DVD has a folder labeled VIDEO_TS . Inside the folder are 8 files labeled:
VIDEO_TS.BUP, VTS010.BUP, VTS012.VOB, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS010.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB, VTS013.VOB, VTS011.VOB
Is there any way I can open this DVD in iDVD or iMovie so that I can use parts of it??

You need to convert the VOB files back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

Another possibility is to use DDxDV:

Obviously the foregoing only applies to DVDs you have made yourself, or other home-made DVDs that have been given to you. It will NOT work on copy-protected commercial DVDs, which in any case would be illegal.

Solaris 8 don't recognize a SCSI CDROM for installation

My Intel system has a IDE hard disk and a SCSI Adaptec 1542CP. I'm trying to install Solaris 8 using a Matsushita SCSI CDROM ( scsi id=5 ). The hardware it's fine because I'm booting DOS 6.22 and Unixware 7.11 using the same system.
Solaris diskette recognizes my SCSI controller but don't recognizes my CDROM. Please could you help me ?

Can you see them from the OBP with a probe-scsi-all etc....
Are they actually Sun qualified disks, have they got Sun firmware on them, what are the model numbers.
Have a search on sunsolve for the ST number if it's a Seagate etc etc and try and find some firmware to burn to them from another system.
Failing that connect to another system and run format and low level format time. The RAID cont might of burnt somekind of special headers to them, god knows....
What kind of RAID cont was it? What type of system are you using, and what system were they in?
