Older photoshop elements programs

Can custom print sizes be made, like on the older photoshop elements programs?
I have owned Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and 6, I loved working with the both of the programs!
Any information would help a lot?
Thank You!
grantes

I’ve found in the print dialog that if I click More Options and select custom it defaults to a thumbnail size. I now resize the image first and then click Actual Size.

  • Photo in Organizer closes Photoshop Elements program whenever it worked on for tagging, editing, etc

Everytime I open a photo in my catalog (whether in organizer or editor) the program freezes and then closes. I am using Photoshop 11 and Windows 7. Help!

  • Ho do I install my OLD Photoshop Elements program on my new computer?

Downloading, Installing, Setting Up@HELP!   The AutoPlay.exe and Setup.exe keep failing.  I have my original disk for PSE 8, w/Serial #
I have Windows 7, and plenty of space.  I don't understand why I can't get it going.
Their website offers a page that says: If you purchased a Photoshop Elements 9, 8, or 7 product, and you no longer have the installation media, you can download replacement installers from this page.  - BUT THERE IS NO LINK FOR IT!  Only offers links to download the whole program!  That would take HOURS!
    DESPERATE!@

first, copy your disk contents to a desktop directory and try installing from that directory.
    if that fails,

  • Latest RAW Converter in older Photoshop Elements

Is there a way that I can use my Photoshop Elements 9 for the RAW data coming from my new Canon EOS 700D?
Would be great if anybody could help.
    Cheers
    Christian

Your best solution would be to download and install the free Adobe DNGconverter, which can batch convert a whole folder of raw files from the EOS 700D to the DNG format which your PSE9 can open and edit.

  • Why does my PhotoShop Elements Program always startup with two windows?

A few months ago I evidently modified something in PSE such that now, everytime I start the PSE
program I get two identical programs going. One program loads, and then immediately another idnetical
    program loads.
Any ideas as to what I did wrong???
Better yet, how do I fix it???

Only when printing?  Can you print from other applications without problems?
Either way, it is probably a print driver or operating system issue.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 - adding/installing additional backgrounds/graphics

Hi, i previously used an older photoshop elements program on windows and when i needed to add more backgrounds/graphics that i had purchased i use to go to 'photo creations' folder and then select either 'background' or 'graphic' folder and paste my new background files into there.  I then closed photoshop and restarted, when i did that it would then the added files would thent show in the 'contents' tab under backgrounds or graphics.  When using this program i tried to do same but it is not showing in programs content.  Am i saving it in wrong place?  Please help or any suggestions.  Thank you

    Hi Lisa,
    Go to the following location:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Locale\en_us
There you will find a file named as MediaDatabase.db3
Cut that file from there, and paste it somewhere else. (Just to keep as a backup)
Now when that file is not there, relaunch Editor. It will show a dialog box saying "Building Contents". Let the Editor do it's processing. Depending on your machine speed, it will again create the Mediadatabase.db3 file. (On my machine it took around 10 mins)
Then you should be able to see the added backgrounds and frames.

  • After reinstallation of Photoshop Elements 12 program no longer works?

I had to get a new laptop. I do not remember deactivating / uninstalling Photoshop Elements 12 from my old laptop, but it is uninstalled (I know because my son is using my old laptop now). I installed Photoshop Elements 12 on this laptop and it worked fine upon installation. After turning off the computer and rebooting, the Adobe account manager asked be to update. It failed midway through and Photoshop will no longer open. Not from the shortcut. Not from the menu. Not from its executable file on the C: drive. I looked on my account and I cannot see how I would decactivate Photoshop Elements 12 if it happens to be activated for some reason on my old laptop.
    So,
    1. first, how do I "decativate" without being able to open a Photoshop Elements Program (to make sure that is not the problem)? And, if it is not the problem,
    2. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
    Thanks!
    David

Hi, I tried the reinstall but the restore hasn’t worked. When set up for restore catalogue from my back tly file. It said that it was an incremental back requiring 7 discs but I have only ever backed up to the same back up file. After initiating the restore it asked for the next file but there was only the one file.

  • Running Photoshop Elements (1) on Windows 8

I'm sure folks by now know that older Photoshop Elements doesn't install on Windows 8.  (I think it's version 1, as no version is given on the package, and I bought it a long time ago from the Adobe store via a friend at Adobe who is not  longer around.)  The installer tells me that it needs at least Internet Explorer 4.  Although I installed a clean copy of Windows 8 64, I still have Windows 7 32 installed, with the original Elements in Program Files.  If I run the old executable, it tells me it can't find the personal information, or something.
My question is:  Are there registry keys and/or files I could copy over to my Windows 8 installation that would let me run my old Photoshop Elements?
I tried copying just the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\1.0 registry key, but that didn't work.
Basically, I don't really want to buy the software again, as I'm just a light user, and I was perfectly happy with the old version, which cost me about the same as the 11 upgrade.
    Thanks.
    -John

Okay, now that you got the recommendation for a new product out of the way, please continue with your original thought: Before we go into how you might get pse1 to work on windows 8
I'm in the same boat. New computer, Win8, trying to get PSE1 to install.  My hard drive is 320GB. Every time I try to install, an error message tells me I need IE4.0 or newer. I tried changing compatibility to all the other available (older) options, but still get the same error.
So I'm interested in the secret magic trick to make this happen!
    Thanks.

  • For photoshop elements 12

    I'm Japanese.
I can speak English a little.
Photoshop elements 12 is  EPS can not be opened.
I can not open it even if I put it in the folder "EPS Parser.8BY" this.
    Please tell us carefully.
    thanks you.
I did it in the manner below.
Files of type: Generic EPS (AI3, AI4, AI5, AI6, AI7, AI8, PS, EPS, AI, EPSF, EPSP)
*Would require older PSE version installed on machine.
    Quit Photoshop Elements 11.
Copy the file ‘EPS Parser.8BY’ (Windows) or ‘EPS Parser.plugin’ (Mac) from:
Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements [Version Number earlier than 11]\Locales\[Your Locale]\Plug-Ins\Parser
Mac: //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements [Version Number earlier than 11]/Support Files/Plug-Ins/Parsers
    3.  Paste the file in:
    Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-Ins
    Mac: //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins
    4.  Restart Photoshop Elements 11.

The directions you posted above should work on a windows operating system, but will not work on mac os, because photoshop elements 12 is an 64 bit application on the mac side
and pse 11 or older photoshop elements versions are 32 bit applications on the mac side, so the default plugins from pse 11 or earlier photoshop elements versions will not work in pse 12 on the mac side.
What operating system and version are you using?
From which version of photoshop elements did you copy the EPS Parser?

  • What is the 3rd Disc in Photoshop Elements.  What does it do?

    Hi All.....
I am a neophyte.  Just got the new Elements 10, and am in awe about all it can do.  Have been running the tutorials.   I have 3 discs in my packet.  The first disc which I installed is the Photoshop Elements program.   The second disc which I did not install is a trial of the the Premier version...for movies.   The third disc is the focus of my question.   I have put it into the computer and the dialogue box that opens asks for photo places on the computer.  I have called CS but they tell me the 3rd disc is supposed to be templates for printing.   I have opened the files on the 3rd disc but only see the formulary for the things the program needs in terms of space and speed from the computer to function.
Question:  What is the 3rd disc for and how do I use it?
    Many thanks....

So I installed the 3rd disc (have a mac)...I have disc two in the computer and it does not prompt me to install, it sounded like it installed something though?  I do not see an eject to remove it...
I am gathering from the previous answer, one only needs to install disc 3 for Elements10  Mac usage?

  • Help w. Photoshop Elements 5.0

I recently experienced a series of problems with Photoshop Elements 5.0.  The problems started out as a minor annoyance and graduated to pretty serious.
Here is what has happened. Over the last several days, I have been working to create 4 separate photo collections in a single catalog; the total number of photos spread across the collections is approximately 250.
The first issue to surface was that the slideshow function stopped on two separate occassions and completely shut down the Photoshop Elements program. This was followed by the loss of the catalog containing the collections I was working on. Fortunately, I had backed up the catalog on a portable hard drive and was able to restore it in its original location on my desktop and avoided loosing about 10 hours of work. The next day, when I tried to back up the catalog or print photos, connections to a limited number of photos in two of the collections were lost and had to be reestablished.  Eventually, the connections to all the photos in all four collections were lost and needed to be reestablished to either print the collection or backup the catalog.
I suspect that the sofware has become unstable.  I was thinking of removing the program from my desktop and reinstalling it.  Or would it just be simpler to just upgrade to Photoshop Elements 8.0?
Any adice would be greatly appreciated.

Reinstalling may help, but it's not that likely.  You could try Adobe's generic troubleshooting:
    XP: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333200.html
    Vista: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401340.html
To work through the list will take many hours.   You could also try downloading the free trial of PSE 8.

  • Photoshop Elements 5, trying to reconnect photos in Catalog, Vista

I had to install a new fixed disk in my Vista PC and re-install all programme's. In this process it turned out that folder structure is now slightly different from the past. I had copied all photo's to new disk (note I use different folders). Subsequently, I re-installed Photoshop Elements 5 and copied my old catalog. Because of the slight differences in folder names, I need to reconnect all photo's in the catalog. Problem: in this reconnection process my Photoshop Elements program stops after a few reconnections (sometime already after 2 pictures, sometimes after say a bout 5 or 6). Photoshop shuts down and I need to restart. Anybody a suggestion? Thanks in advance Rob Tausk (The Netherlands)

Having a nearly identical problem here. Just bought a new computer, which upgraded me from XP to Win 7, and at the same time I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 9. I restored my Photoshop Elements backup, but found a majority of my photos had become disconnected due to a change in the folder hierarchy from XP to Win 7. Many of my photos when I was using XP were in C:\documents and settings\..., but in Windows 7 there is no documents and settings folder under C:, and Windows won't even let me create a folder with that name so as to move the photos back into it. So now all my photos are in C:\Users\My Pictures\... and PSE can't seem to find them. I have to browse on each one to manually reconnect it. Very tedious and no way that is going to work for nearly 10,000 photos in my catalog. What's worse, the program freezes after I perform a half-dozen or so reconnects. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, and also the suggestion on the Adobe tech note (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/400/kb400848.html) and neither seems to abate the freezing issue. I've also tried both restore options (restore to same location and restore to new location/preserve folder layout) and the folder hierarchy is still messed up either way. Any suggestions?

any thoughts on this problem, I find no version stated on the photoshop elements program. sorry it says internet explorer 4 or higher need which is what I have.

Message to use a new version of IE
There is a problem with IE10+ in that it is mistakenly seen as being IE1.  To get around this either use a different browser or use compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10)
