Older releases of Solaris?

Hi
I need to get hold of solaris 10 u5 (which is dated 05/08) for X86, but when u try and download Solaris from the Sun website the only one that I can find is the latest version, solaris 10 u7 (which is dated 05/09).
You can get patches etc. for solaris 10 u5, but does anyone know where I can get the iso files for the solaris 10 u5 OS?
Any help would be mooocho appreciated.

You can download older release DVD images here:
http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/releases.jsp
I just tried to download the u5 and it looks like its all there.

  • Recursive scanning of .tar.bz2 archives / Older release notes

This is actually a two part question, but the two parts are somewhat related.  1) Recursive scanning of .tar.bz2 archives  If I create a new content filter to match on executables (attachment-filetype == "Executable") this detects directly attached exe files. It also detects exe files in .zip-archives, and it detects renamed exe files in .zip archives. All is well.  What it does not detect are exe files in .tar.bz2 archives. This surprised me as this is not an especially obscure format, and the Ironport lists tar and bz (along with zip) in the Compressed mime category.  Maybe this is a bug, and it's fixed in a newer release (this is on 6.5.2-101). Which brings me to the next question  2) Older release notes  Where can I find release notes for the releases between 6.5.2-101 and the current release (7.0.1), in order to find if this was fixed along the way?

Not sure about the tar.bz2 archives, but the older release notes can be found on the support portal under Appliance Documentation > Email. There is a small link at the top right corner of the page "earlier releases". Yes, its very well hidden

    Hello,
Just a quick question: can we have an official position from Sun regarding support of earlier releases of Solaris with Java RTS 2.1? Our customer is currently running Solaris 10 Update 3 with current Recommended patches, and the 2.1 beta cyclic driver supported this version of Solaris. However with the official release version of 2.1, support for U3 disappeared (only U4 and U5 are now supported). Aside from "rubber stamping" the Solaris build via /etc/release, is there a technical reason why U3 is no longer supported? As long as our kernel is up to date, can we safely use 2.1? Or is it just a case of being unable to officially support and test so many releases of Solaris?
Is this a general rule-of-thumb we can expect in future: only supporting the last 2 updates of Solaris 10?
    Your advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

  • Contacting OTN admins to get an older release of Oracle Data Integrator

    Hello everyone,
We developed a product using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 10.1.3.3.1 but the current release is 10.1.3.4 and the older release cannot be found anywhere (OTN /SAC). So, i am trying to reach out to OTN admins to get access of ODI 10.1.3.3.1 so that we could ship that to customers. Does someone know how can i reach them or better yet if an OTN admin reads this thread, could you please respond?
    Thanks,
    Srini.

You would need to contact the product manager about that.

  • Older releases of flash for amd64 linux.

Are the older releases of flash 10 for 64 bit linux still available. The current version has problems (I can't click on any widgets). So I want to downgrade to a version that works. But I can't find any older versions. I did find the archive (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html) but it is only of the 32 bit versions.

Actually you can use the latest Flash Player version 15 on Mac OS 10.6.8.  Mac OS 10.5.8 and older are no longer compatible and need an older Flash Player version (depending on PPC or Intel platform).

  • Next release of Solaris operating system, any given date or estimation?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
Is there any given date or estimation about next release of:
    -Solaris Operating system
    -Solaris express
    -Solaris express developer edition
    Thanks

Solaris express/ sxde are on a 3 month release cycle. The last release
was sx 5/07, so any day now.
In theory, I believe that solaris 10 was supposed to be on a 6 monthly release cycle.
The last release was 11/06, so its slipped a little.
I believe the next release of S10 will be S10 8/07.
The releases often make it to the public in the month after their notional release date.
So I would expect them both sometime in the next month or so.

  • UltraSPARC I processors are not supported by this release of Solaris.

I'm getting this message when trying to install Solaris 10 on my Ultra Enterprise 2. My buddy that gave it to me has the same exact system and had no problems installing Solaris 10. Maybe he has UltraSPARC II? Can I upgrade to UltraSPARC II? Will Solaris 9 work with my system till I upgrade? Or do I have to go back as far as 7 and if so, where do I download 7? Thank you in advance.

The Ultra-2 is indeed a compatible platform for Solaris 10
but only for the faster SPARC-II cpu modules.
Your model computer could use UltraSPARC
and it could use UltraSPARC-II cpus.
They actually were a slightly different design.
What cpu's do you have? CPU speed is ... ???
The 167MHz and 200MHz modules were not US-II components.
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/handbook_pub/Systems/U2/components.html#CPUModule
However the 300MHz and 400MHz Ultra-2 cpus were SPARC-II components.
Lastly, the Solaris 10 Release Notes (817-0552) mention that your systemboard
needs to be at an OBP version of 3.11.2 or newer.
If it isn't there yet, you'll need to flash-update your board, as well,
before you think about Solaris 10.
    So ...
If you can't run Sol-10, put any older version on it. ( 2.5.1 through 9 )

  • Where to get older versions of Solaris

Can someone tell me where I can download (or buy) older versions of the Solaris OS. I am looking for 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6.
    Thanks,

That's a great website, thanks. I also managed to find it on Apples site (link below) by clicking on the 36MB icon (top right). Anyways finally got the Roku working again, so all is good. Hopefully Apple will fix the bug in 7.x in regards to Roku, as there were some nice features in the new release.

  • Can I get an older release of Firefox? 36.0 does not play well with Windows 7.

Firefox 36.0.4 does not play well with Windows 7. If it opens at all, it freezes within a minute so the screen goes pale and I get the classic spinning circle of death. Then the header says (not responding).
Ideally I would like to drop back to version 32 or 33, but 34 and 35 had fewer problems.
Can I find older versions anywhere?

You can [[Install an older version of Firefox]] any time. But which will cause significant security risk. So If you can't use the latest version of Firefox, we recommend that you use the latest version of another browser.
If the latest version of Firefox is causing problems for you or you just don't like something about it, please give us feedback about it here:

Anyway head for the ftp for older version but please be careful with these: ftp://ftp.eu.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

  • Patch released for solaris yet?

Hi, anyone know if patch 118786-01 has been released yet? If not, does anyone know when it will be released? Its counterpart for Redhat is available for download (118788-01)

    You can check using
    showrev -p | grep <patchnumer>
if the patch is already installed. Most likely this is the case for the version you use so there's no need to update any patches.
However, it's always a good idea to keep the system up-to-date, especially if you plan to use ZFS as filesystem.
I use "pca" to update our systems (http://www.par.univie.ac.at/solaris/pca/) - much easier to handle than "Solaris Update connection" - and fewer problems.

  • Where can i download an older release of database server (aka 11g)

where can i find all the archives of db server 11g? i want the earliest one but when i go to the oracle website, there is only the lastest released on the 10/13. I want the earlier one
    thanks
    tn

May be you should further clarify what exactly you are looking for, IMO it is not quite clear. OTN download area is the portal where you can download the earliest media released, and as far as I can see there it is the earliest 11gR1 media released (11.1.0.6.0) --> http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html
If you are looking for the latest upgrade of 11gR1, then you are on the wrong portal, you must apply a patchset to your current 11.1.0.6.0 to have it upgraded, and the only way you can get the patchset is on metalink, which requires you to have a valid Customer Support Id to access it and download it.

  • 10.1.3.3 release on Solaris x86

    Hi guy's,
Anyone know when the 6148874 patchset (10.1.3.3) will be available for Solaris (x86)?
    Thanks.

Not sure if you already figured this out, my reply isn't exactly timely.
Had the same issue with Windows XP, we resolved by turning off cell animations for Excel. Can do by adding HKCU - Software - Microsoft - Office - Version # - Excel - Options, add DWORD Options95=1
This fixed the slow scrolling issue for us, as well as an issue where sessions would get disconnected back to the VDI log in screen when trying to scroll around or delete big chunks of rows

  • Does ZFS release on solaris 10 3/05 GA  x86 or sparc?

As subject, Anybody confirm it , plz .

I would be interested in knowing where you read that. SamFS is an archiving solution, its mainly used to share tapedrives and store things on tapes and archive data on disk.
ZFS is a new, dynamic, highly reliable (after they fix all the bugs), cool, multi-terabyte filesystem, if i remember correctly it will take care of other things for you, like mirroring and striping if you wish.
Anyway, i've no clue when it will be relized, before i was RIFed from Sun they targeted into one of the releases, but i forgot which one. I assume they'll release it when it passes QA ;)
