Older versions let windows machine access airtunes, 7.1 does not.on a PC

I have set the prefs. for Itunes 7.1 to send to my airport express properly (airtunes)and it does not work,I have tried many alternate settings, it doesn't even show up at the bottom of the library page. Uninstalled 7.1 and reinstalled itunes 4.5, Works with Itunes 4.5 on PC and on my 2 Macs' Itunes. This is a lap top with xp pro. Not a firewall issue either. Itunes 7.1 may work on a Mac but seems to have a lot of bugs for a windows machine. I expect better from Apple and this skcus (backwards). What really ticks me is the music store does no longer work with Itunes 4.5 and says to upgrade to 7.1

iTunes for Windows basically uses a stripped-down internal version of BonJour for Airtunes and music sharing. so it's looking like a problem hitting some folks with the standalone BonJour and iTunes 7.1.0.59 on Windows.
if you don't use BonJour for printer discovery and whatnot a heck of a lot, we can run through how to disable the BonJour Service from loading on startup, if you like. (that's one of the workarounds we can use until the conflict gets properly sorted out.)

Want to open Kodak Photo CD files (.PCD) in Photoshop CS5. In CS4 i copied file "Photo CD.8BI" from an older version into the File Format folder. This does not work with CS5. Any fix?

I have several old Kodak Photo CD with PCD image files. I am now using Photoshop CS5. Some years ago while using Photoshop CS4 I copied a file: "Photo CD.8BI" from an older, CS2, version to the Plug-ins/File Format folder of CS4. This does not appear to work with CS5. Any fix?

It can be made to work, but you have to run the 32 bit version of Photoshop CS5, and as I recall there's an additional DLL called pcdlib32.dll that's needed from the old installation.

Older version of windows using disk space

hi i hope this is the right area. i'm in need of some serious help. my HP support assistant is telling me "a copy of an older version of windows is using significant hard disk space" I don't know what to do. it did the monthly tune-up & then came up with the error exclamation mark. i've not gone from windows 7 to windows 8. this is a windows 7, 64 bit; SP 1; 3.00 GB memory; Intel Celeron CPU. unsure what else you may need. the scan was done today 6-9-2013 at about 11 a.m. can any body tell me what happened ? You can check the C: drive (hidden normally) to see any Windows.old folder. This fle contains your Windows 7 information. It's there for you just in case you want to go back to Windows 7. You can remove it after happy with Windows 8.

I have CS 2, 3, 5 and 6 on an older iMac. A friend told me once to keep the older versions on my machine but it is running so slow. Should I uninstall the previous versions? I refuse to upgrade to the Cloud because I can't afford and I think it's ridiculous it so please do NOT suggest that.

Older versions have nothing to do with your slowdowns. As long as you don't run them, the programs are dorment and don't consume any resources. whatever issues you have can't be fixed that way, but of course feel free to remove them if you need the disk space.

Thanks for your quick reply. I tried a number of different values. Usually when I do a negative offset they're very small values, like -.25 or -.5.
An Update- I took the art work into Ai CS 6 and It still did not work, which is really strange. And I've used it hundreds of times with success in the past. Also I tried it with live type and outlines, ungrouped, un-compounded still could not get it to negative offset.

Hi! We have a VB application using Crystal Reports 6 that has worked successfully on hundreds of systems for over 10 years. Now, on one network, the application and access database does not close. It seems to hang on the [.Close] command.
When we open the application an peruse the screens without opening up a report (using crystal reports), the application and access db closes fine. But as soon as we run a report and then close the report and try to close the application, the access db does not close. Many of the screens open the db and grab data from the access db, but it's only after running crystal reports that we have this problem. (Please see more information below.)
Setup: Application and data (access 97 db) reside on a server in the same folder, but application shortcut is kicked off on client PC. Kicking off the shortcut on the client PC means that the image/process runs on the client PC (not on the server). In this problem case, the application shortcut is on a Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP2 PC with the app & data on a Windows 2003 server. Users are local Admins on their PCs with "Full Control"over the directory and files on the server where the data (access 97 db) resides. This type of setup is typical and has worked without any problems for clients.
The application is written in Visual Basic, using Crystal Reports 6 (using DAO). We close the recordset, set it to zero and then it hangs on closing the db (.Close command).
A few key pieces of information:
- The application closes fine if the app & data (access 97 db) are on a local PC. This includes closing fine if the application is run directly on the Windows 2003 server where the data is stored.
- It worked on this client's network until sometime in the last few weeks.
- One thing that changed is that the company is using VMWare on its servers. Not sure if they started using VMWare at the same time as it started failing. This may be unrelated. Possibly other things changed, but can't get any more information ... yet.
- It works fine running the application from a Windows Vista PC with a user who is a domain admin.
- The access db and application hang for about 10-20 minutes and then eventually closes. It appears that somehow
Crystal Reports is keeping the db open, but I'm not sure why.The application doesn't quit and the database doesn't close even if I try to end the task with the Task Manager.
- The Crystl32.ocx version being used is 8.0.0.4 (if that matters).
- I copied 6 month old program files and database files to a test folder on the Windows 2003 server. It fails using these files that worked fine 6 months ago.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! If you know of another good place to post this, please let me know.

Crystal doesn't support tables in HTML interpretation.
You can probably work your way around this by doing Replace() calls on the relevant tags.

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.

Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Close Photoshop first, then:
Download the 8.5 manual update link from here: Don't run the installer, but instead just Open the zip file in Windows Explorer.

Navigate inside the zip file to find the resources inside that correspond to the 64 or 32 bit Photoshop version that you're running. I assume you have installed the 64 bit version, so the rest of the instructions will concentrate on the 64 bit Camera Raw.8bi only. Here's the path:

The file within Assets1_1.zip, named 1002, is actually the Camera Raw.8bi file for 64 bits, just with a different name.
Copy 1002 to your folder on your computer where your Camera Raw.8bi normally lives, e.g.,
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats
Rename the old Camera Raw.8bi file to Camera Raw.8bi_8.0. It's important that the extension is changed to something other than .8bi.
Rename 1002 to Camera Raw.8bi
Run Photoshop and verify the Camera Raw version by choosing Help - About Plug-in... - Camera Raw.
