Oldest Montoring/EWA Data in Solman 4.0

Dear All,
I would like to find out the oldest monitoring data available in my solution manager 4.0. Is there any way to find out in Solman.
One way is to go to each solutions and then see the oldest EWA report generated.
Is there any other way by which I can find out quickly.
Thanks in Advance
Regards

Hi,
you can use transaction DSSESS for that.
If you want to also reduce the data, you can use report RDSMOPREDUCEDATA. There you can select all solutions andfor example retain sessions from the last 2 days and you get a list with all sessions in the system, there you can sort by date and you'll have what you want...
Just be sure to not mark the second last checkbox!

Pascal

    Hello,
I know it is possilble to archive EWA reports to a 3rd party Archive system.
Then it would simply be a mater of conencting he 3rd party archive system to the new Solution Manager to have access to historical EWA data.
SAP Noe 546685 has more information on this setup.
    Hope this helps.

  • SP23 missing BI content when processing EWA data

    Hello,
In a recently upgraded solman system i am trying to process downloaded EWA data. For this a batch job SM:EXEC SERVICES is scheduled.
This job cancels however with message InfoCube 0SMD_PE2D is not available in version A.
When I search for this infocube in RSA1 i do not find it, so it seems I am missing some content.
Is this true? Or am i doing something wrong here?. Do I need to activate some ehp1 funtionality for this?
    Thanks for any help

    Tom,
Could you please open a separate thread in SDN or open a customer message on SV-SMG-INS to discuss the expected behavior within SOLMAN_SETUP.
I would also appreciate to avoid running into issues during EWA processing. Detection should have been possible earlier for users.

  • EWA" Dates for this session are overdue "

    Dear All,
Im now configuring EWA report but i always got Red Flag for the satillite system said that  "Dates for this session are overdue"  and there is no two bottle apear.  please help me..
    Thanks so much.

    Hi,
That error is because your managed system is not sending the required EWA data to your SolMan for processing.
Please check the following to make sure all steps are correct for EWA processing:
Check RFCs in Solution Manager to your system that the EWA is for.
Also check the Back RFC to SolMan in the managed system.
Also check in the managed system, transaction SDCCN and make sure the maintenance package is running and scheduled periodically!
Finally ensure the Task Processor is active and scheduled in SolMan via transaction SDCCN > Goto > Settings > Task Processor.
Lastly check in the managed system that the RFC for the maintenance package is set to your SolMan via transaction SDCCN > Goto > Settings > Task Specific > icon next to RFC Destinations > Settings. Ensure the Back RFC to SolMan is set as the master.
To do this, go to SMSY in SolMan > Environment > SolMan Operations > Administration SDCCN and ensure your managed system is there and SolMan is the master.
You may even have outstanding jobs for this system in SDCCN of SolMan which you can run to process the EWA data if you do not have a periodic Maintenance Package correctly running in SolMan.
All of these checks will solve your issue and make sure EWA is working.
If you find the answer, please post what the mistake was, I am curious

  • Error when trying to extract data from Solman to BI 7

    Hi,
We are trying to extract data from Solman 7 to BI 7. The following extractors have been activated on Solman since we want to be able to report CCMS ALERTS and System availability on Bi Portal.
Transaction SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Solution Manager -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Operations -> BI Reporting
    transaction: RSA5 (Installation of DataSource)
    0SM_SMG_ROOT Oberster Knoten Solution Manage
    0SM_SMG Solution Manager
    0SM_DSWPBI_DB390
    0SM_DSWPBI_DB400 DB400 Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBADA Adabas Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBDB2 DB2 Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_DBINF Informix Data

    0SM_DSWPBI_SERVER Server Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_SYSDATA System Details Data
    0SM_DSWPBI_SYSTEM System Data
Our current situation is that we have scheduled the jobs through Solution_manager > solution Reporting > BI Data collection. Yet no data has been collected and the jobs are getting cancelled.
Has anyone come accross this same situation before? Plus I have just found out that on SOLMAN_WORKCENTER under System Monitoring there is a reporting step named IT PERFORMANCE reporting that needs to be configured.
Please advice since this will be critical for our busines.

    Hello,
I have collected the data from our systems successfully. I have implemented the steps lsited at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm70ehp1_sp26/helpdata/de/45/51fbdbd4941803e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm and it works fine.

  • Extract data from SolMan to MS Access with VB RFC

I am trying to create a database that allows me to extract data from SolMan directly from MS Access.  The command I want to run is ZSPROJECT_GET_SOLAR_STATUS (I think this will do what I want it to).  I am doing this in VB within Access and need to extract the data into a table for use with reports I have created.  Currently I do this manually by running a solar_eval transaction and export to Excel, then import into Access.  I would like this to be automatic as the users will not know how to do the manual extract.
    Can anybody help me out?
    Scott

I am an intern at the project with no SolMan or SAP training.  We have a similar application that is web-based that was developed by someone using XML and a SOAP RFC, but since my application is in MS Access, I was hoping to do it through VB.
I don't know what version of SolMan it is, does 4.0 sound right?
I guess that I need to talk to someone from SAP on this project if I can find them to get this setup?  I don't know if this is a generic transaction or not, but the one I use currently to extract the data is
    solar_eval
so I'd like to automatically run this and extract the data using Access to put it into my table; rather than logging into the GUI, running the transaction, choosing the variant and layout, export to Excel, and then finally go into the database to import the data and run my reports.
Any thoughts on how I could do this besides what I'm trying to do which seems like it may be difficult?

  • Retrieval of EWA data in machine readable form

    Hi!
I use SAP Solution Manager (SPS 16) with a lot of satellite SAP systems and get each week a valid EWA report.
Now I would like to get a automated retrieval of EWA data in machine readable form.
So it should not be a EWA report, but e.g. a XML file with all the relevant information (e.g. parameters, performance, etc.)
    Question
What are the technical steps to do this?
How can I retrieve such information? (interface, tcode, report)
    Thank you very much
    Jürgen

    Hi,
You want the system to send SAP EarlyWatch or Service Level Reporting reports automatically by E-Mail.
To send HTML reports automatically by E-Mail, you have performed the required activities in the IMG (transaction SPRO).
    Start the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.
If you are in the solution overview, choose a solution.
Choose  Edit  Send E-Mail Automatically .
To add an E-Mail address to which to send your reports automatically, choose Create E-Mail.
    A dialog box appears.
    Enter the required data.
The system sends the selected report to the assigned E-Mail address(es), automatically. You can specify several E-Mail addresses.

  • Best way to manage different landscapes data in solman

    Hello,
We are interested in using certain solman functionnalities to our complete customers landscapes.
Our situation is that we manage the SAP landscape of many diferent customers. Each landscape is maintained individually from the others. We would like to enter the data of those landscapes into our solman.
But this causes some issues with duplicate SIDs for instance. Indeed several landscapes share the same SID for different systems. A direct consequence of this is that the wizard used to create system RFCs will have trouble with duplicate users, since it uses the SID to create the users on the solman (SOLMAN<SID>).
A way to workaround would be to define those users manually, but maybe that solman has a functionnality to handle these situations ?
Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughs.
    aidan

    Hello,
If you have customer A landscape with SID's XXX, YYY, and XYZ under Installation 12345678 and customer B landscape with SID's XXX, YYY and XYZ under installation 23456789. Solution Manager will have no problem distinguishing Customer A systems from customer Bs systems, even though they have the same SID. It is not the SID that needs to be unique, it is the installation Number + the SID that needs to be unique.
And Customer A would never have systems installed on Customer B's installations. Thus I do not see there is an issue here.
However If customer A has a duplicate SID under the SAME installation number, this can cause a number of problems, especially anything related to service sessions. In fact in regards to EWA's SAP Note 1257308 - FAQ: Using EarlyWatch Alert
mentions this in the section 5. Restrictions and Prerequisites, second point...
    Identical SID and installation number:
EarlyWatch Alerts are identified by the key <Installation Number>
and <SID>. It is not possible to process EarlyWatch Alerts for
two SAP NetWeaver based systems with the same SID and
installation number in one Solution Manager.
But you could utilize a second Solution Manager to accomplish this if required.
The Note also describes how to deal with Stand By systems, where they would have the same name, for instance in a fail-over scenario or a disaster recovery situation.
You do realize that you can utilize clients to group users, so you can create a client for each of your customers, because the RFCs created by the wizard follow the format SM_<SID>CLNT<Client>_* (BACK, TMW, TRUSTED, READ, ETC). So the client will be unique to each customer.
    So I hope this helps.

    Paul

  • Transfer EWA from Customer Solman to VAR Solman

    Hi dear Gurus,
We need to have our customer's  EWA in our Solution Manager, but due to network restrictions is not posible to send it directly. So we need this reports to pass from Customer's Solman to ours.
Is it possible and how to do this.
    Kind Regards

    Hi,
if you have at least a working RFC destination to customer's solman you can use report BDL_GET_SESSION_DATA to transfer the download of the customer's solman session to your VAR solman. But this is not working for automatic transfer (e.g. in background), therefore you have to create own functions..
Other way can be the setup of automatic mail notification in customer solman to deliver newly created EWAs to your VAR mail-account.
As far as I know, SAP does not yet support the forwarding of session data from one solman to another.
    Regards, Richard

  • How to fetch data from SolMan and move it into SAP BI?

    Hi all,
I have the portal activity report data residing in the SolMan ( achieved by configuring portal and SolMan).  I need to extract this data from Solution Manager into SAP BI, such that i can report on the data in SAP BI using the BEx tools. How will i proceed with it ? Your response is higly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Divya.

    Hello Divya,
You must set up E2E Diagnostics for the managed system (portal system).
You can accomplish this by running transaction solman_setup  in the Sollution Manager and ensure that Initial and Basic Configurations are performed. Afterwards, you must follow the Managed System Configuration (also in solman_setup) for the managed system.
Afterwards you must activate some specific Portal Activity Data Collectors following the note 1309740.

...In the same way you 'installed' the Solution Manager 7.1 i.e. by Referring the SAP guides available at OSS.
You must had downloaded the 'Installation Guide' from OSS to 'install' the solman, similarly you will have to download the 'Configuration Guide' from OSS to 'Configure' the Solman.
service.sap.com/instguides --> SAP Components --> SAP Solution manager -> Solman Release 7.1 --> 'Configuration' and 'Operations' sections !
