OLS Label Security: how users can view own level/compartment/group choices?

I have an application using OLS (Oracle Label Security) Virtual Database (VDB) for security; to allow users to only view rows to which they have access.
I'm creating a list of values (LOV) to allow the user to change the level or compartment of a database record to a different value for which they still have access. The views that show these values is DBA_SA_USER_LEVELS (and COMPARTMENTS, GROUPS) but this view is only visible to DBA users, not the regular user. We are considering giving regular users access to this view, or granting SELECT_ALL_TABLES as suggested in an article I read. However, this approach seems to loosen security, not maintain it.
How can I allow a user to get a list of levels, compartments or groups available to them without loosening the security on the DBA_* views?

Hi,
Many users can view report at same time.It depends on the server if it can accept those many users at same time.If number of users increases OC4J may not work properly.

If you mean you have several podcasts and would like them all to be listed on the same page, you may be able to get the Store to set up what they call an 'Artist Page' which does this.

notification/message says download complete

Hello, I have a iMac 27" and would like to know how I can view more than 1 page at once on my screen with "PAGES" 5.5.2?
In the past one could do this by clicking in the "zoom" field on "PAGES", but ever since Apple have seemed to "simplify" PAGES.... well, I'm spending more time searching than working...
Can anyone help? I'm going nuts with this issue.

Just to keep you informed, it's the least I can do after the time you spent helping me.
The best solution I have found and it works excellently is the following:
- I installed VMWare on my iMac.
- Created a virtual machine and installed OS X7.0 on it.
- I "imported" or reformatted this virtual machine with an image disc (a DMG) of my entire système installed on my previous Mac (which was running OS X7.5 and had iWorks installed on it)
The result is fantastic.
I now have a virtual machine running Mac OS X.7.5 on my iMac (which is running Yosemite). As, I also managed to import into this virtual machine my image disk (DMG) of my entire MacBook Air (which had MacOS X7.5 and had all apps including iWorks) I can use Iwork just like in the "good old days" !!!
So I now simply jump from one to the other, its perfect!

I have CS3 Flash using Flash Player 9 and Actions Script 3. I am publishing a progressve loading swf, which has an absolute path to an flv of http://www.haleygroup.com/work_images/basics.flv. The swf file is located here http://www.haleygroup.com/work_images/basics.swf, along withn the html, flv, and skin. When I click the button (configured by an XML file) on my web site to view the file, I get a flickering box. Other flvs in the XML file are configured the same way and work fine. See this flickering box at http://www.haleygroup.com/, enter site and go to "et al" page, then click "Basics". Any ideas how I can view this flv file? Many, many thanks.

Use ECL viewer to view 2D/3D files.Markup and redlining features are useful for adding comments.Note that you cannot modify the native application using ECL viewer.
For editing 3d files,the particular CAD software would have to be available on the local system and necessary DC20 settings specified.
What are the system requirement?
Ensure ECL viewer is installed.

If you are doing this from your phone (as you mention) then you can use the new iPhoto Photo Journal feature to do this.
Unfortunately, iCloud does not offer equivalents to Mobile Me’s iDisk, Gallery or Web Hosting services. You will need to find a third party solution to replace these services. You might consider DropBox, SugarSync, MediaFire or any other service that offers online storage.

It can be done by going opening the composite.xml in jdeveloper and than opening the properties window of the composite.There you will see a property Validate schema.Set that to no to overwrite the property set at the sever level.
The following property gets added in the composite.xml
<property name="validateSchema" type="xs:boolean" many="false">false</property>
Redeploy the composite and check.

How to configure security so users can delete their own file(s)?

I have configured our file server so that all users can write/modify in any other user's folder. However, it seems that they cannot delete their own file(s) in another user's folder. Do I have to give all users the "Modify" but not Full permission
so that every user can delete their own file or folder even if it's in another user's folder? I still do not want user A to delete/modify any files/folders that user B originally created.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi,
Based on my research, if a user can rename a file/folder, then he/she can save it using the original name, there is no way to prevent this via permission assignment.
You may need to use scripts to achieve this.

HFM Security Issue - User can submit a journal by by-passing the approval step even though they are not an admin.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a HFM security issue on HFM 11.1.2.3 we are facing please?
The problem is that a user can by-pass the journal approval stage and post directly after submitting if Custom4 access control=All is selected.
If any of the other access controls (None, Read, Promote) for custom 4 are selected, the first two steps of the process are possible -
input and approval of the journal are possible but final posting of the journal is not and returns an error that says:
"User does not have the access right to perform this journal task"
The options I have thought for a workaround are as follows:
1.       1. Set up a 3rd user called data poster and remove submit journal role from user 1 (data inputter)
2.       2. Put in place process control and use the various review levels (could be quite time consuming given there is no time left for development)
Have anyone experienced this before and come up with a quick way of resolving this please? It would be very much appreciated.
We have two types of users who are associated with groups in HFM and have the appropriate roles assigned to them to complete their tasks,
they are:
1. A data Inputter (who inputs base data and journals, who has access to create and submit journals)
2.   2. A data reviewer (who approves journals)
The process is as follows:
1.       1. Logon as Data inputter to submit the journals
2.       2. Logon as Data reviewer to approve the journals
3.       3. Logon as Data inputter to post the Journals
We are using the custom 4 member to identify different adjustment types. At the moment we are able to set it up in such a way whereby Steps 1 and 2 can be completed
but once it comes back to step 3, we get an error as follows:
"User does not have the access right to perform this journal task"
(This error comes about when the access control on custom 4 is set to None, Read, Promote)
Custom 4 Access Rights looks as follows:

Create a lightbox of PDFs users can view and or download

I would like to create a directory of PDF's that end users could see a thumbnail image of the first page of the pdf
and when they click on it it would expand to allow them to view the pages of the pdf, and or download them.
I have 40+ years of old newsletters that I am trying to publish.
I was able to make this much easier using iWeb for the Mac, it was just drag & drop a pdf and the
thumbnail was automatically generated - however I can't seem to find a way to do this in Muse.
My attempt in Muse...
(what i did in iWeb)

You can use compositions for this , with triggers insert thumbnail images and target containers should include the text content , add another text in same container and link that to pdf document where users can download the file.
