Olympus OMD EM1 Camera Profile Doesn't Show Up

I created a colorchecker passport profile for my new OMD EM1 camera and it doesn't show up in the list of camera profiles.  At least one other person I know with this camera is reporting the same issue.  I am on a brand new download of Lightroom 5.2.

Just tried to do the same myself. Not working either....annoying.
I wonder if it's been fixed in the 5.3RC?
For reference...yes it should be fixed in 5.3, just downloading it now!

  • Snow leopard and orf file from Olympus OMD EM1

Hello, is there any chance to see the preview of these orf file without upgrading to 10.8.5 or later?
I have Aperture 3.2.4 with Digital Camera Raw 3.13.0 and it works fine with the Olympus E 620 orf files.
I can see the preview of these orf also from desktop. without opening Aperture.
Upgrading to Olympus OMD EM1, the new orf files aren't read anymore...it seems that  I need Digital camera Raw 5.03 to see them, but the dmg can't be opened with 10.6.8....
I don't want to upgrade , because I like very much Snow leopard, but it is frustrating not to see the preview of the Olympus EM1 orf files...every time I have to open them with Olympus Raw Converter ( Olympus Viewer 3), that is very slow....
    Any suggestion?
    Thank You for the attention
    Bye
    Susanna

Hy Brody, thank You for your kind reply
I think that I won't be able to fix this because I've read somewhere that Preview share the same raw converter of Aperture and IPhoto, but I run Aperture 3.2.4 ( Aperture 3.5 is required for EM1 and doesn't support my SL !!) and a very old Iphoto ( I don't use it since a long time ago), that I can upgrade only to 9.2.3.
Now I must find if Iphoto 9.2.3 can open these raw from EM1, so probably also Preview could...but I'm not hopefully.
    Thank U very much again!!

  • How long till Raw compatibility for the Olympus Omd Em1

I just got the Olympus Omd Em1 to use on a month long trip through Europe in December. I want to shoot in Raw but I can't even save the files on my Mac Book because it doesn't recognise the files. As i see it I can shoot in both Jpeg and Raw, but that takes up a lot of space on the SD cards and doubles the photos on Aperture, when I can eventually download the Raw files, also I will have to keep the SD Cards full till I can download the Picks in Raw.  So I will have to have additional cards that I don't really need. (also added expense). I can only download to the Olympus Viewer 3,but It looks like I can export the pick's only in Jpeg or Tiff, Not in Raw? I got the Em1 specifically for this once in a lifetime trip and now I find out Aperture won't accept the Raw files. Is there any chance that the Apple Software engineers will update the program faster than the normal 3-6 months? If there are Apple Employees out there this is the only way I can find to ask?

I can not at all confirm getting tons of noise in Lightroom. I downloaded the Lightroom 5.3 RC (release candidate), because I couldn't stand it any longer to have to shoot JPEG and not RAW. I've been using Aperture for years now and simple am used to work with raw images. And the slowness of the Olympus viewer is simply unexceptable for me. In comparison, I also like the results that I'm getting from Lightroom better than those from the Oly viewer.
So, at least until Apple comes out with E-M1 support, I will stick with Lightroom to have a solution that actually works. The release candidate expires at the end of December.
But then, Adobe also sells Lightroom with a huge discount at the moment. So far I like it quite a lot. So I might also just buy it and stick with it.

  • Before purchasing Elements 12, I would like to know if it will process RAW images from an Olympus OMD-EM1.  Can someone advise?  or tell me how to find out?

    Hi,
This document defines the supported cameras
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
According to that, the OM-D E-M1 is supported by Camera Raw 8.3 which is compatible with Photoshop Elements 12. You should try the trial download first to make sure you are happy with it.
Once you have downloaded and installed the trial version you will need to go to the help menu and select Updates..
If you decide to buy it, you can convert the trial version to the full version by supplying the new serial number.
I would avoid the Mac App version and don't get the upgrade version unless you have an older version.
    Good luck
    Brian

  • Profile doesn't show up in PSCS5

I made a profile for the Canon G10 and an auxiliary telephoto, using DNG source files, in Adobe Lens Profile Creator 1.0. The profile is in /Users/(User Name)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0. When I shoot a RAW image with the camera it does not show up in ACR 6.1's Lens Profile dialog or the PSCS5's Lens Correction dialog. In both places, there doesn't seem to be any option to search my local computer. How can I use a self-generated profile?

    I have the same Problem!
Actually the self-generated profile MUST show up in the drop-down menu under lens-corrections in ACR for example. But in my case neither!
    EDIT:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/705468?tstart=30 gives the answer. Hell, this product is not well documented! I could have saved hours if there was a proper documentation or faq or so...
if the profile shall show up in ACR the profile must have been produced with dng not with jpg pictures!

    Hi,
Olympus released a new camera body this week for shipping in October, the OMD EM1. I'm on pre-order, but am wondering if anyone knows when it might be usable on Adobe Photoshop for RAW file processing, or how often the software is updated from Adobe.
    Thanks for any input,

  • Jdev CPU profiler doesn't show inherint method timing - Any way to get it

    Hi,
CPU profiler both in HOTSPOT and Callstack doesn't give method's inherint timings . it only shows parent + descendant timing (inclusive timing) . This doesn't help me to quickly find which method inherintly is expensive (ie timing withouts its child included ) .Is there a way to get the timing of a method without including its child method timing ..
    Regards,
    Indraneel

Depending on what version of JDeveloper 11 you are running, exclusive time in a method is called "CPU Exclusive" or "CPU Shallow" in the CPU profiler column headings. The column is there; there is data in the column for some methods (Click on the 'CPU Exclusive/Shallow' column to sort by those values). So it's hard to understand how the profiler does not report it.
Perhaps your issue is that the profiler doesn't report it accurately?

  • Is it possible to download images from an Olympus OMD-EM1 into CS5.1?  If it is, how do I do it?

Is it possible to download images from an Olympus OMD EM-1 into CS5.1 on a Vista machine?  If it is, how do I do it?

It looks like that camera requires Camera Raw 8.3 or higher, which will not work with PS CS5.  You would need to download the dng converter and convert your files to a camera raw of 6.x for you to open them.

  • Where are the camera profiles? Not showing up in LR 4

The camera profiles are not visible in the camera calibration menu in the develop module of Lightroom 4. I installed them using the installer that came with the profiles. What folder are they supposed to be in so I can use them (Windows 7 x64)? Where is the documentation? Why isn't Adobe answering the phone?

Thanks for your quick reply! I have the 4.1 update installed. I have a Sony SLT A57. It is not inC\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1\Resources\CameraProfiles
The actual path there looks like:
    C\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1\Resources\CameraProfiles\lens profiles\camera\adobe standard (empty)
However, I installed rc 4.2 after I wrote to you, and the path to the (Sony) camera profiles is now:C\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 RC\Resources\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard. There is another folder named Camera, under Camera Profiles, in which are Canon, Nikon, and other camera folders - with several different profile choices within each folder. In this other "Camera" folder there are some Sony cameras with different profile choices for each camera in the folder, ie portrait, landscape, vivid, standard. Can I try one of those, or does the program automatically go to my camera model? Are they planning to add these other profile choices for my Sony SLT a57?
The one profile listed in the development menu is "embedded". What is that?
    Thanks, Joanne

  • Adobe Camera Raw 6.2 and Olympus E-510 camera profile

    Hi all!
When I open a raw file captured from my Olympus E-510 with Adobe Camera Raw 6.2 and go to Camera Calibration tab, ACR doesn't display any profile for my camera, althouth Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html) says it supports my model. The same happens at the Lens Correction tab, it doesn't display any profile for Olympus. If I open a raw file from other Camera (Nikon for example) everything is ok. Does anyone know how I'm going to fix this???
    Thanks for your time!

You should see an Adobe Standard profile and perhaps an ACR x.x profile for your camera, but Adobe does not make Camera-centric profiles (landscape, portrait, camera neutral, etc) for most cameras unless they are Canon DSLRs, Nikon DSLRs, one Leica and a few Pentax cameras.
On a Vista/Win7 system you can verify what models of cameras are supported by Adobe by looking for profiles in:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
    The lens profiles are in:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles
There are comparable directories on Win XP.

  • Ipod touch shows as a camera and doesn't show in itunes

I installed a update to iTunes.  When I attached my ipod Touch with the usb cord it recognized it as a camera and installed the drivers.  iTunes doesn't recognize the iPod.  I went through all the steps in the Apple directions.

This is a common problem even on a Mac. Especially if you have photos in your photo album. Happens on my Mac all the time.
Quit any photo application that might start on your computer and dismiss any dialog boxes then start iTunes.
To prevent the photo program from running in the future run Image Capture on the Mac. In the preferences select to have Nothing start up when a camera is attached.

  • New profile doesn't show up in profile manager

I have 2 profiles already in ff3.6.18. I created a 3rd one and it shows up the first time i pull up the profile mgr., but after i close it out & bring up the p-mgr. again, its not listed. The first 2 are, but not the new one. I've searched this site, but can't find an answer. Any help much appreciated.

That might be related to the '''profiles.ini''' file, a text file which is located in the same folder as the \Profiles\ folder in App Data.
There is a much easier way of launching a specific Profile than opening the Profile Manager. Wouldn't be a bad time to learn how to do that now, since the current Profile Manager is going to be removed from Firefox at some time in the near future. My guess is that it may be gone before the end of this year. A new separate Profile Manager XUL Runner is available to replace the current Profile Manager that has been a part of Firefox since the Firefox 0.9 version. https://wiki.mozilla.org/Auto-tools/Projects/ProfileManager

  • I just tried to import photos on my iMac (OS v. 10.9.4) from my Olympus OMD EM1 for the first time and was given a message that it cannot read the files ending in ORF, in other words the raw files...I have the latest version of LIghtroom 5...help!

I checked the list of supportive cameras and the EM-1 is listed as having preliminary support.  I checked for updates to LR5 and I have the latest version.

  • Camera Calibration Profiles do not show in Develop Module LR5 / Windows 7

I have selected three specific camera profiles (Nikon D300, Nikon D700 and Canon G12) and placed them into:
    c:\Users\{me}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\{Nikon D800}
I restarted Lightroom 5 and viewed a RAW photo (not jpg or tif).
But my Nikon D800 or the other two camera profiles do not show up in the Develop Module Camera Calibration drop down menu, nor in the Presets drop down in the Navigator panel.
    What am I doing wrong?

Yes (to a degree). You can build your own custom DNG camera profiles, that's a good first start. Then you could edit them using the free DNG Profile Editor from Adobe. I'd start with custom profiles for each camera and see if that produces an acceptable match among them.
