OMG HELP SUPER IMPORTANT QUESTION HELP HELP HELP INTIAL SET UP FAILS!!!!!!!

Ok, so I am starting to get frusterated, my friends refurbished iMac isn't getting past the part (when you first turn it on for the first time ever) that asks for internet, he checks "do not connect right now" and it doesn't do anything, then the wheel comes up, and it stays there. He's done multiple restarts and NOTHING HAS WORKED.
I have many mac's and have never encountered this problem, and it doesn't look like a lot of people do either. Is it possible that maybe the refurbished mac was just faulty? HD failure during shipment or something?
HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP

do-able
my friend brought a refurbished macbook online, when it came there was a problem with his keyboard, whenever he typed something it would come up like this:
HeLLo
so he took it to apple, they apologized that this has happened to his first mac, as their way of apologizing they gave him a brand new macbook! it could of been repaired... must of been his lucky day!

(no, no one has ever asked that question).
    Yours doesn't qualify.

  • Can someone help with Import question?

    Don't laugh at my imovie version! I have 300 gigs of edited iMovie files that were originally brought into a Mac on 9.2 with iMovie 2.1.1!
    The files are on 3 separate hard drives: Maxtor and 2 EZquests. This Mac would boot to system 10 and I could work with all 3 hard drives and all the files. Now when I boot to System 10, it is 10.4.7 and iMOvie 4.0.1. The files are all grayed out if I try to import except for he older Maxtor files are still usable. But not the two EzQuest which I need!
    I need to convert the imovie files to .avi and do not see this as an option on imovie 2.1.1 I have them all in Qtime 7 but they do not convert with very good quality to .avi.
    I am not clear why I can no longer open/import them. They are on the same original external hard drives but the system and/or iMovie may have been updated. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    prea

    Forget any iMovie version as any export (Export Settings) to AVI will still use the ancient Cinepak compressor.
    They will look better than your already compressed QuickTime .mov files but you'll get better results creating MPEG-1 files from them and avoid the AVI container.
    I suggest you invest in Toast (http://roxio.com). For about $80 you can create VCD or SVCD files that are really MPEG-1 files. The conversion is fairly fast and you don't actually need to "burn" the CD. Just drag the blah.DAT from the image to the Desktop and change the file extension to .mpg
    In your iMovie folders are .dv files of your clips. Use them as the source files in Toast and join or edit them using the free MPEG Streamclip app.

  • Important question! need help please

    I was wandering if the Cmos battery is dead or not working, does that mean the whole motherboard including the PSU and NB will not work or boot???

    CMOS battery mainly controls the time and date and BIOS settings when the system is off.
    I think your problems resides more to the PSU. Try another PSU and see if the same thing occurs .

  • Super Nub question. Please help.

    I have built a small test app using IB and XCode. It is essentially similar to the HelloWorld demo's floating around. The jist of it is that when you press the button, the text appears. I realize that the iphone is event driven but what I would like to do is something like this, "when you press the button, a loop is run in the background until the button is pressed again." So, if the iphone is busy running the loop, how will it detect the new button press to turn off? Sorry, I know this is probably obvious to everyone but me, but any direction at all would be appreciated.

    You will want to start an NSTimer when the button is pressed, and stop it when the second button is pressed. The NSTimer can run an animation, or perform other tasks every time it is triggered.
    In my code, I never got the NSTimer to run more than 10 times a second; not sure if that's a system/hardware limit, or if my subroutines took too long to run.

    hi Baz,
    not many MSI boards are compatible with that cooler, just happens i was looking at it yesterday, this is the AMD Compatability List

    And the Intel

  • Hi! SUPER IMPORTANT QUESTION!

    ok, so I recently purchased the harry potter audiobooks from pottermore.com because they are no longer available. When I tried to put the mp3 files on, it worked on the iPod and will register as an audiobook after following the instructions but I am unable to tra sfer it to the library. I feel like I've tried everything but I just can't get the library to read it. No sort of dialogue or loading signal appears, I drag it, there's a blue box that shows it registered, but when I drop it, nothing happens. I could really use some guidance, I'm obviously very tech-impaired.

    Read the PDF user manual for possible answers to your questions:  iPod Manuals, search through Apple's Knowledge Base for support Articles.

    Use a BufferedImage where you draw the other images.
    You have to know the size.
    For example if the size is (50*50) for each image :
    int width =50;
    int height = 50;
    BufferedImage bufIm = new BufferedImage(width*3,height*3,BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_ARGB);
    Graphics gr = bufIm.createGraphics();
    int k, j;
    Toolkit tk = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
    Image imTemp;
    for (k = 0; k<3; k++) {
        for (j = 0; j<3; j++) {
            imTemp = tk.getImage(imageNames[k][j]);
            gr.drawImage(imTemp,width*k,height*j, this); // replace this by the Image observer you want (this if you are in a panel for example)
    }After that bufIm contains the images as you want and you can paint it on a Graphics.

  • Help with importing multiple folders

    Hi,
    I've just bought a new computer which has come with PE9 pre-installed. It looks like it could be a great program but ...
    Two big problems. Firstly, I tried importing all my pictures from "My Pictures". All my pictures are neatly arranged into their various folders so I clicked on "My Pictures" and it imported all 2000+ photos straight away which was great. However, the big problem is that it has copied every picture individually i.e. it hasn't imported the 20 odd individual folders I had those files arranged in. So firstly, and most importantly, how do I import multiple folders at the same time or can't I? Do I need to remove everything and just copy each individual folder across one by one? Because that sounds like an awful lot of work! I'm assuming it should import multiple folders at the same time but, as usual, there's nothing I can find on the forums or the FAQs to answer the question.
    Your help and advice would be gratefully received.
    Many thanks.

      Elements will simply mirror your hard drive making links to each image.
    When using File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
    You can navigate to your system folders and then check the box to include all sub folders.

  • Help with importing photos - IPhoto assigning file names that already exist

    When I import photos from my canon powershot camera, IPhoto has begun assigning file names that are the same as filenames that already exist on photos imported previously. It appears it is deleting those older files (when I go look in my photo library, the older one with the same name is now gone).
    I don't know how to name photos as they are imported as it seems to be done automatically and I'm afraid to import more photos and loose my old pics. Can't find anything on the internet when I search on this question - can anyone help?

    Thanks so much for your quick reply, TD.
    What happens when I plug in my camera is that Iphoto opens, asks me if I want to import photos (and if I want to delete originals), and I click okay or whatever and they are imported. I name the roll/folder, and I photo puts them in the library in that folder in that year.
    It makes sense that the camera is numbering them. I think that the ones it is using the same numbers for (ie - IMG0080.jpg) are the numbers on older photos that were assigned by a different camera that we used to have.
    So I guess the canon isn't searching on all photo names that have been used, just the ones that it has used in the past.
    Unfortunately, when the new photo is named with the same name as an old one, that old one is literally deleted - at least as far as I can tell - and when I go look for it in my photo library, it is no longer there.
    I might try to see if there are any help forums for the canon powershot and see what I might learn there.
    THanks so much for your help!

  • Help with SCJP Question

    Hi,
    I don't understand the answer to the question below. Why doesn't it print "pre " first since this is the first line of main?
    I'm not sure I understand the order of the rest either. I've read the chapter that goes with this but still can't understand it.
    Hope someone can help.

    Question:
    Given:
    class Bird {
    { System.out.print("b1 "); }
    public Bird() { System.out.print("b2 "); }
    class Raptor extends Bird {
    static { System.out.print("r1 "); }
    public Raptor() { System.out.print("r2 "); }
    { System.out.print("r3 "); }

    public static void main(String[] args) {
    System.out.print("pre ");
    new Hawk();
    System.out.println("hawk ");
    What is the result?
    A. pre b1 b2 r3 r2 hawk
    B. pre b2 b1 r2 r3 hawk
    C. pre b2 b1 r2 r3 hawk r1 r4
    D. r1 r4 pre b1 b2 r3 r2 hawk
    E. r1 r4 pre b2 b1 r2 r3 hawk
    F. pre r1 r4 b1 b2 r3 r2 hawk
    G. pre r1 r4 b2 b1 r2 r3 hawk
    H. The order of output cannot be predicted.
    D is correct. Static init blocks are executed at class loading time, instance init blocks run
    right after the call to super() in a constructor. When multiple init blocks of a single type
    occur in a class, they run in order, from the top down.

    The static initializer blocks in the Raptor class are executed when the Raptor class is loaded. This is not the same time as an instance of a Raptor (or derived class) object is created, but at class-load time. This happens before the main method is executed, because in order to execute main, the VM first had to load the Hawk class. To load the Hawk class, it had to load the Raptor class (since Hawk extends Raptor). It also had to load the Bird class, but that class has no static initializers, so that didn't affect anything output.

  • Instructions needed for importing a RoboHelp - Oracle Help file

    Please provide instructions for importing a RoboHelp, Oracle Help file into an Oracle 8 software application.
    Thank you,
    Jennifer Byrne

    The Oracle Help Guide documents how to program applications to support Oracle Help. Have you looked at it? The Guide is included with the downloads of Oracle Help for Java (OHJ) and Oracle Help for the Web (OHW) and you can also find it directly on OTN at http://otn.oracle.com/docs/tech/java/help/content.html.
    But I'm not sure I understand your question completely. What do you mean by "import" the help into the application? I assume you are referring to programming the application to integrate the help into it; hence my suggestion to refer to the Oracle Help Guide, above. But perhaps I'm missing something. Also, what kind of application do you have? Is it a Java application?
